Big props to Macdonald's - they were a lifesaver. I called - they had replacement batteries in stock. I showed up the next morning and they took care of me - an hour later I was all set - new batteries, installed and ready to go. Fast, friendly, accommodating, Thank you!

At first the toggle switch got stuck and they replaced it as I didn't want my scooter to "drive" me into the middle of the road while I was trying to live my life.about a month later, this had to be repaired again and the control box had to be replace. This repair took the better part of a day after a waiting period of a while. The last time I was stranded on the corner of Granville and Drake for over an hour until their technician could help me. He came, fixed it so I could get home but he told me to go straight there. He reported if to Macdonalds who in turn consulted the manufacturer. It turns out that they will replace the scooter. This is wonderful as I am afraid of using the scooter and getting stranded again or "driven" into the middle of an intersection! HOWVER, THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, I need daily access to a scooter so I can live my life as my legs are only strong enough to walk about a half block with my 4-wheel walker. I can't even go to the bank right now! I found out today that I have to wait until the end of March for the replacement!! This is unacceptable! I am moving to live with my son on March 5 in Victoria. I I have phoned three times since I was stranded and no one got back to me. They don't care about how this affects me. I have emailed Anne Drewa with my consumer complaint I have no idea how it is going to get resolved.

These folks took me under their wings at the most vulnerable point of my life, during cancer treatment and recovery. The compassion and understanding of these gals, front desk and nurses, is incredible. If you're in the crappy position (pun intended) and forced to use a prosthesis for an ostomy, this is the place to come for help and supplies. It's the only ostomy centre / center in North America. I don't care where you live in the Lower Mainland, you have to support this business that does so much for the community. Live in Vancouver, get your butt on the SkyTrain and take it the 22nd Street Station, and then walk an easy block to the clinic. Appointments are free (as many as you want) with several well-versed ostomy nurses. These nurses are the ones that get you through the many challenging days following a new stoma. If you have to crawl to this place after your surgery, do so. No one is immune to the emotional challenges an ostomy brings, especially from cancer. My appointments were never rushed and I was able to get a lot off my chest. I had to wean myself from the nurses' help because of holiday travel, but they never pressured me to not make future appointments. If you aren't able to travel to New West, I know they'll help you over the phone and they ship their supplies province-wide.
