Many shops would have charged a diagnostic fee. They will keep my business now that I am back home with 2 vehicles.

He said he couldn't patch because it was too close to the sidewall. I looked at it and it was at least 2 inches away. I even googled it while I was waiting to be checked out and it is too close to the sidewall at 1/2 to 1 inch away. I told him to just put it in my bed and I'd go somewhere else. Went to Sulphur Tires and Wheels and they said it was very patchable and they had it done faster than the manager at Mavis took to processed my check for over $17 that they charged me. At Sulphur Wheels and Tires, the total cost to actually patch the tire and replace was $30. I have been a long time customer at Mavis. I will not be going back. There are always new people and they act like you are inconviencing them for being there. It's a wonder how they are still in business.

I managed to slowly make my way off the exit for Sulphur, LA, which also happened to be the exit for Southern Tire Mart. Douglas came out to assist and discovered that I needed I needed a new wheel as well because it was dented during the incident as well. Douglas went above and beyond by calling several businesses trying to find the wheel that would fit my car. This was on a Monday and the dealership he finally found would not have the items in until Wed. I had to rent a car and stay two nights in a hotel. When I picked up the wheel and tire on Wed., and took them back to Southern Tire Mart, Douglas had them mounted on my car at no charge!

After notifying my Roadside Assistant Program I was told they had requested a dispatch from Southern Tire Mart being they were experienced in Class A Diesel RV Tire Service. Since the issue was with the inner rear tire the technician picked up two new tires prior to arriving just in case, fortunately the issue wasn't serious and I was able to drive into a Truck Stop to wait on the service technician. Josh arrived and went right to work, road side service is hard work and although the service truck is equipment with an air compressor and air tools the work itself requires some expertise and a strong back. As the photo shows the rear axel is somewhat complicated Josh took great care in removing the tires and ensured the wheel was protected as well as the locking hub. After deflating and doing some leak detection procedures he found the root cause and corrected the issue without having to patch or replace the tire which saved me a lot of money (buying a 275 / 80 R 22.5 Tire on the side of the road is never a bargain). After throughly checking his work everything was reinstalled and he conducted a full inspection ensuring everything was safe prior to his departure. The entire event was stress free and very professional, Josh was very friendly and instilled a lot of confidence that the issue was resolved and I haven't experienced anymore issues since the repair. I highly recommend this company to address any RV Tire issues or if you need an honest assessment..

I am elderly and disabled I have never had a company look out for me the way this company has. They definitely go above and beyond what I have ever had anyone do. The radiator was split with possible damage to the engine. I left the car with them to replace the radiator and then test for additional damage to the engine. They then drove me and my wife to the airport to rent a car (not going into that saga now but no cars available from anyone yet Avis managed to majically make one appear). We continued on our trip and my car was ready when we returned. Mike had kept in touch daily so I already knew that the engine was ok and just the radiator had needed repair. I couldn't ask for more caring and helpful service having been stranded in unfamiliar territory. By the way, while I didn't see much of Lake Charles, all the people I met remind me of what true southern hospitality means. I was concerned that the price was high (although cheaper than the alternatives) so I looked it up on the internet after getting home. The price was on the high end of the expected range but within the range so I can't complain. I am sure there are cheaper places around but I doubt there are any beetter. If I ever have a car problem in Lake Charles I'll go back to Family Auto & Quick Lube Services. The only thing I think I'd suggest they change is the length of their name.
