Could also do the other path that heads closer to town/houses. Not too uncommon to see wildlife either (ie: deer, geese, turtles). They also have ice skating in winter when the lakes freeze over. Parking is pretty easy and in a few spots. As other notes, no bathroom here which is the biggest issue. Otherwise with how accessible this is, it's a gem.

Hiked up and across, ate the lunch we'd brought at one of the umbrella'ed tables near the playground, and then the skies opened up; drove back to Manhattan on an almost flooded Bronx River Parkway. Grandson back for a visit this year, wanted to go back! Zipcar got more expensive, so I followed the directions on their website using public transportation. DON'T! The website says take Metronorth to White Plains and then a Bee-line bus, #6, to the Dam Plaza. We found the bus stop, and the schedule said 11:43. Perfect, right? Not. 12:43 came and went. Other buses came and went. The #6 never showed up, so finally we took a taxi for $20.00. Took 10 minutes to get there. Better to take a train to Valhalla and walk the less than a mile or Uber for 8.95 or something like that. Watch the schedule for going back to Grand Central, because in the afternoon it seems to run just once an hour. Plan accordingly. Otherwise we had a good time.

a nice park for the kids and adults in white plains but away from the main downtown area . i…read morestopped by to see a soccer match between rival construction companies and playing field is in top shape so i assume my tax dollars are being used wisely . a section for the little brats to play , run and swing around and other section for adults to play tennis , basketball and play ball. its totally family friendly so no loud music , no smoking , no loitering and no bulls#it or else the police are coming to throw you out .the park is well maintained and its very clean and safe even at night .the weekends during the summer is the most crowded time so come early if possible . overall a nice recreaction park to play , relax or just watch a game .

It's in front of a development that was Edge on the Hudson before there was Edge on the Hudson (so much for the hype there). Views of the Tappan Zee bridge and Hudson River are unavoidable which is a very good thing. Decent amount of walking paths and benches, in addition to the dedicated picnic area. Plenty of parking although it is paid via the Tarrytown parking app. Playgrounds are a bit dated but in great shape. Everything has soft, spongy ground around it. Good variety for different ages too. Haven't done the splash pad yet because it's winter but it is pretty sizable. Good amount of kids around here without it being overwhelming. Maybe not the most built up park in the area, but my toddler loves it and so do I.

Admission is Free but there is a cost for parking Our Experience: we enjoyed spending the afternoon outside on this gorgeous spring day walking along the river walk and playing on the playground. The walk was absolutely stunning and the boys enjoyed walking along the path, exploring the lookout area, seeing the boats in the water and the airplanes/helicopters in the sky. Hands down my favorite part of the day. The playground was adorable with two separate sections designed for kids of all ages. While the equipment was a bit outdated, I loved that it had that soft type ground underneath it to (sort of) pad a fall. Both boys really enjoyed their time there. There is a covered picnic area so feel free to bring food and drinks! There is also a restaurant right there in the park as well as walkable restaurants in the downtown area conveneintly located close by. It was a gorgeous spring day and there were ZERO crowds with only a handful of people walking the path and only one other family on the playground. I was shocked at how quiet it was but thrilled to have the place basically to ourselves. Will go back?: Absolutely YES! And recently this year, I started exploring the NCT and SCT after a quick loop on the BRP. A portion of the trailway in Ardsley look like under construction (gravel) and I believe is part of the SCT. This is where I first started exploring this trailway and just rode 4 miles north for I am not yet familiar and not sure what to expect. On my next rides I gained some confidence and started exploring further north and was able to reach Yorktown Heights border. I should have started this back in mid-summer but was so focus on the BRP loop which help me improved my laps time but I am not in that pro category... yet. I recommend this trail for cyclist/cylcing-lovers and who loves nature's beauty in Westchester. I am impressed on the improvements that were made in the NCT yet be still on the lookout when you cross the roads specially by Briarcliff Manor area. Alway make yourself visible (use lights) and be corteous to the joggers and fellow cyclist.

A beautiful view of the shore and a nearby bridge from the park benches, especially during sundown. There is a small playground nearby as well for the kiddies but a word of warning for the shore line walk, there may not be continuous fencing along the water so keep a tight leash on the younger kids. Even though there were plenty of signs warning against fishing, there were observed to be a few fishermen looking for a bite on a quiet summer evening. It was calming to observe the serenity and patience of the fisherman. Parking wasn't difficult (on a Sunday) however, I could see this being problematic on some weekends, as there were many residential street parking restrictions. The main parking lot doesn't provide for much parking.

There is paid street parking nearby now, which makes it easier to find a spot. On weekends, the walkway gets a little crowded. I've come during the day (during the week) and week nights though, and it hasn't been busy. I'm sure when the luxury buildings go up it'll be busier. This is a great place to come if you want to relax or take a stroll by the water. I'll definitely be back for another walk soon.
