Shortly afterward, the same hose became disconnected again and the washer started leaking water. Now I'm being told that I need to pay another $215 for a connector and installation to prevent the hose from disconnecting again. If the technician already knew during the first visit that a connector was needed to properly and permanently fix the problem, why wasn't I given the option to have it installed then as part of a complete repair? Instead, I paid $170 for a temporary fix, was told it had a warranty, and now I'm being asked to pay even more for a second visit. I would have much preferred an honest, upfront price for a complete repair from the beginning rather than paying twice for the same underlying issue.

Within minutes he was able to diagnose the problem, He told me he would look up the cost of the part and get back to me. It wasn't 2 hours later he texted me a price. It was during this time that I realized that it was still under warranty and while on the phone with LG, was texting with Leo to ask questions. I was able to get him set up to be able to order the part from LG for free under our warranty. It took a couple days, but he stayed in contact with me and after a few days of waiting, informed that the part had arrived. We scheduled a time for him to install and he came this morning to do the job. He was quick and efficient and it was about 35 mins and the job was complete. The dishwasher sounds like it did before and we can't be happier with the job. He charged us for his time only, just as we discussed. I hope I don't have to call him again for something else broken, but if I do, won't hesitate. Also, I plan to also share his info with anyone I know who needs an appliance fixed. But it could have happed again if the exhaust hose was getting clogged and moisture had hardened some of it. So I ran to Home depot topurchase a new hose. Done. He also looked at our oven which occassionally up turning it on smells a bit of gas. He recommended we look at the igniter and possibly the jets. But said due to the age, it wouldn't cost much more to replace it.
