When the technician Joe showed up at my house the next day he stunk like a cigarette. He preceded to take pictures of the serial number on the appliance. In conversation I told him that the same Kitchen Aid microwave that I have is currently 499.00 dollars at Lowes . He then told me with out doing any diagnoses that the repair was going to be 450.00 dollars so I was better off just buying a new microwave. He also said nowadays the microwaves that they manufacture are throwaways and that when they go bad you throw them out and replace them with a new one. Now if that is the case why didn't the gentleman on the phone when I called them explain that to me. It seems to me they just wanted the 121.00 dollar service call fee that I paid them. Ironically I looked up on line the prices of the switches and they were 24.99 each. I also took apart the control panel and cleaned the switches and now the microwave door switches work fine. I also wanted to add that we used Georges appliance repair in the past and we had no issues. So we were not a first time customer. When I called Georges after I fixed the latches I got nothing but a lot of crap from the gentleman that I spoke to on the phone.

Within minutes he was able to diagnose the problem, He told me he would look up the cost of the part and get back to me. It wasn't 2 hours later he texted me a price. It was during this time that I realized that it was still under warranty and while on the phone with LG, was texting with Leo to ask questions. I was able to get him set up to be able to order the part from LG for free under our warranty. It took a couple days, but he stayed in contact with me and after a few days of waiting, informed that the part had arrived. We scheduled a time for him to install and he came this morning to do the job. He was quick and efficient and it was about 35 mins and the job was complete. The dishwasher sounds like it did before and we can't be happier with the job. He charged us for his time only, just as we discussed. I hope I don't have to call him again for something else broken, but if I do, won't hesitate. Also, I plan to also share his info with anyone I know who needs an appliance fixed. However, the issue is that the quoted replacement part was extremely high, and the quoted labor cost for replacement covered about one hour of work. I guess that the "free" diagnosis won't be free after all if I followed up and agreed to proceed. Speaking of time, the replacement part is no longer available new anywhere, and if I had bought a correct replacement, it would take less than 10 minutes to replace it. The alternative repair was done by me/DIY by following a YouTube video, and no parts were required.

They not only service all sorts of equipment and machinery, they have a good selection of such equipment available for purchase, readily displayed during each season. If it's Spring, you'll see plenty of mowers, trimmers, etc. Winter is coming!?!? Snowblowers and generators a plenty. I did finally cave after a year and brought in that old backpack blower for a newer model, and glad I did. They not only gave me a great price, but I was able to "trade-in" that old blower for a new one. Awesome!
