Great customer service! We were given a 4 hour arrival window and our service technician, Joe, was there within the first 15 minutes of that window (so rare these days)! Joe was very courteous and patient but was able to quickly diagnose our dryer issue. He gave me a quote and said he could repair it right then and there. called Georges appliance repair and explained that I had a under the counter microwave and the issue I had with the appliance. The gentle man that I was speaking with on the phone said it sounded like the microwave door latches needed to be replaced. When the technician Joe showed up at my house the next day he stunk like a cigarette. He preceded to take pictures of the serial number on the appliance. In conversation I told him that the same Kitchen Aid microwave that I have is currently 499.00 dollars at Lowes . He then told me with out doing any diagnoses that the repair was going to be 450.00 dollars so I was better off just buying a new microwave. He also said nowadays the microwaves that they manufacture are throwaways and that when they go bad you throw them out and replace them with a new one. Now if that is the case why didn't the gentleman on the phone when I called them explain that to me. It seems to me they just wanted the 121.00 dollar service call fee that I paid them. Ironically I looked up on line the prices of the switches and they were 24.99 each. I also took apart the control panel and cleaned the switches and now the microwave door switches work fine. I also wanted to add that we used Georges appliance repair in the past and we had no issues. So we were not a first time customer. Fairly pleased with the service. It was a little expensive (the $90 visit fee does not go towards labor) but I'm not sure what the going rate is in the area. Our oven heat had died and we suspected a broken igniter. They were able to confirm this and fix it very quickly. They did give us a 3hr window but fortunately showed up towards the start of that. A terrific technician came to our home to work on our Speed Queen gas clothes dryer we purchased in 2009. He was excellent. His knowledge was notable immediately as he explained the different scenarios and issues that might be the problem with our dryer. Great example of putting a potential customer best interests first. We have an older Kenmore dishwasher with a touchpad and the start button is malfunctioning. I called George's and described the issue. After providing the model number, the rep (didn't get his name) said it could cost upwards of $450 to replace the touchpad and suggested turning the breaker off first to see if it corrects the issue. If not, it probably makes sense to get a new dishwasher. He could have simply scheduled a service call and we may have opted for the repair. Instead, they put what makes the most sense for us - total stranger. George's has now secured our patronage for all future appliance issues! read more

My Bosch Dishwasher had an E:09 error code at end of cycle indicating a failed heater pump th hat is a $200+ part. Called several appliance repair services who would not touch a Bosch dishwasher. Called the place I purchased it 8 years ago and they recommended George's Appliance Service. I was told if the heater was bad it was an expensive part, but the repair was worth it in my opinion. The technician showed up on time and he was a whiz at replacing the part. I normally try to do my own repairs by buying the part and go for online videos but their were so many things to take apart I was glad I used George's. The tech had a much simpler way of replacing the pump the service call and labor was less than $200 plus the part. I am very happy with their service read more

This was the first time using this company and we were very impressed and satisfied. Our ice maker had stopped working on our Kitchen Aid fridge/freezer. When we called to book the appointment they were very professional and pleasant. The service technician arrived on time and diagnosed the problem. They had to order an ice maker part and promised delivery and installation for a week later. They called a couple of days later to advise the part had arrived and they came the next day to install. It was the same technician who had visited us earlier. The price was very reasonable and I'm sure competitive but most importantly, I trusted this company. We have used George's Appliance Service many times throughout the years, as we prefer to purchase from Colonial. We called them for a simple repair job for our fridge. I felt confident I could do it myself, but didn't want to chance it knowing things could go wrong. So we paid an absurd amount of money to get the part replaced. The tech was a bit strange, couldn't show us an itemized invoice and wasn't making much sense but given our prior experience we trusted him. He came back a week later to replace the part. And, again, he wouldn't show me an invoice and told us it was different than what it was. Ultimately the amount was the same, but so many red flags. And then the damage happened. When he replaced a part, it caused EXTENSIVE water damage. I understand things happen, but the way they handled it is a bit alarming. At first they said the owner would call me back same day, he never did. They sent the same tech out who, of course, is going to lie to cover himself. But we have pictures and videos that go against what he said. Every contractor and water remediation person that came to help assess the damages said it's clear they caused the damage - especially because the issue didn't start until he touched it. No one would return my calls, they wouldn't send anyone else out to see the issue -- just trusted their extremely flaky technician. Then had the gall to say they fixed the issue as a "complementary" service. So, if you're looking to hire someone to cause extensive damage to your home (destroyed floors, the wall, the sub floor, the basement floor) and then not even follow up to assess the situation and instead play the blame game, this is your company. Totally not worth the risk. There are so many other reputable companies out there. read more

On Friday, April 29th, I waited all day for a serviceperson from another company to come take a look at my stove. This was after rescheduling that visit from the day before at the company's request because the scheduled service person "had issues and could not make it." The visit never happened and that person/company did not call/contact me. Additionally, when I did speak with them to schedule for the initial appointment, I never got the feeling that I was talking to any person beyond an indifferent call center. I'm very attached to my Viking range. We had it installed twenty two years ago and it has served us well. The amount of meals served thanks to our warhorse would boggle the mind. Two years ago, our oven showed signs of failing. We worked around it until we couldn't. Enter George's Appliance. My wife and I figured we would soon be shopping for a replacement range, a not so insignificant expense. The repairman showed up in the middle of the 12-4 window. He got right to work and it turned out the patient could be saved. A fairly expensive, yet necessary and much appreciated repair followed. What's more, our broiler was repaired which had been inactive for twenty years. Even though they don't work with this brand (Danby), the gentleman I spoke with explained what it probably would cost (base service visit cost and some example parts prices) and it was clear that I would not be served well to pay George's or anyone else to repair. Honesty. The gentleman also directed me to a few places online where I could search for the likely culprit, and I think I am on my way to a $60 self-repair. Appliance Technician Extraordinaire, Joe Budis, just serviced our 14 year old Whirlpool gas dryer in such an expert manner. The diagnostic code we had gotten from the unit proved to be inaccurate. Instead of a control panel (which George's had ordered and had in hand ready to install) it needed a replacement belt. On top of that, since Joe had recently been here on an unrelated service call to tighten loose baffles on our dryer, they waived the service call. A Ten Star rating is merited. read more

People usually go on Yelp to complain so I want to take a moment to compliment George's appliances for their service today. Our dryer stopped heating on Friday. I called George's appliance and they sent out a tech to us as a first call on Monday morning. I was happy to hear they were working on Presidents' Day. The tech fixed our dryer quickly. I asked if he could also look at one of my stove burners that wasn't lighting properly. A part just needed to be cleaned off which was restricting the light and he checked all the other burners to make sure they were fine as well. The service fee was reasonable and he didn't charge us extra for checking the stove burner. We will definitely use George's appliances in the future and will recommend your company to anyone we know. Fantastic experience using George's to repair our leaking LG front-loader washing machine. From the pleasant and polite initial phone chat to quick repair visit the next business day, everything went very smoothly. We've use George's a few times over the years. You gotta wrap your brain around the fact that they charge $80 just to show up at your door. Then if they do anything it's another $60. So you want something simple repaired -- brace yourself for $140. That's the fact, jack. If $140 is going to give you an apoplectic fit, then try to fix it yourself. Maybe it will be easy like a hose coming undone or something. Of course, parts are extra, but no one in their right mind is going to blame George's because the part was expensive and cost extra. The guy you speak to in the office, who makes the appointments, is a few cards shy of a full deck. The repair guy, while stoic and noncommittal ("think I'll get a few more years out of this appliance?","err, ahh, could be"; "does this part typically wear out so soon?" "well, some do and some don't") seems efficient and competent. read more

after reading reviews of 4 appliance repair services near me i saw George's had a much higher percentage of good reviews. the soap in my dishwasher was not dissolving i looked up on the web and it said the filter or the pump needed servicing. Whirlpool appliance service told me i would have to wait over a month plus a non refundable $300 service charge so forget them. i called George's on a friday afternoon got an appointment window for the following monday 8am to 12pm a technician came at 8:15! after 20 minute thorough inspection the problem was the dishwasher wasn't getting enough water as the flood valve was faulty and the extra long hose needed to be replaced but had to be ordered i paid the $90 service fee which wasn't bad. got a call a few days later part was in and 2 days later nice and early they came and replaced . he showed me a big kink in the old line that hampered the water getting through plus who ever originally installed connected 2 hoses and the joint was badly connected further keeping the proper water pressure. technician thoroughly tested and it works perfectly! i also asked him to replace my washing machine hoses which he carried on his truck so $250 more which included all parts i was totally satisfied!next time i need an appliance repaired i will definitely call Georges! read more

I wish George's was my first call. I had an issue with my thermador over for about a week. Thermador told me it would take a month to see me and could not ensure my oven would be fixed with the first visit. I called other places in the meantime that were dismissive, rude and couldn't help me for weeks. I came across George's on a search and emailed because it was after hours when I called. I've used George's Appliance Service for many years and have always been happy with their friendly service and knowledge of what is wrong with appliances. They were recommended to me by Bosch, when my dishwasher was having issues, was they are one of the service companies that serves Bosch products, as not all repair companies do. They usually have the parts you need and if not, they order them as quickly as they can. There's a service free just for them to come, which does not apply to whether they fix your appliance or toward the cost of any parts needed, but it's only about $85 and when my dishwasher or dryer isn't working, I'm happy to pay a knowledgeable professional to solve that problem! They really know their stuff and can usually diagnose a problem quickly. The techs have always been friendly and their prices are fairly reasonable. They also were very good when they came to home during the pandemic, taking necessary safety precautions. Call them when you need them! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We called George's appliance to take a look at our oven that was not working. When the technician came- he quoted us a price that I thought, was about half of the cost of getting a new oven. We decided to just go with a new oven. When we told the technician- he had a horrible attitude about it and left. I paid them the $65 visit charge. A few days later, we decided to go with someone else to fix the oven instead of buying a new one and when they came in, they noticed that the ignitor in the oven was missing, as well as the screws and the brackets. The people that came to fix it said that whoever took the parts wanted to be sure that NO ONE could ever fix that oven. (We were there when they looked at the oven the second time and everything was missing already so clearly it was then man from George's who took the parts) Unfortunately we trusted the man from George's and did not watch him when he disconnected the oven. The technician stole from us and acted in a completely unethical manner. We are repeat customers and are shocked and disgusted at what happened. Needless to say, we will never use or recommend George's Appliance Service to anyone ever again. read more

There comes a time when even the best of appliances goes on the fritz . I'm a big foodie and I absolutely had to have a working stove, especially a clean one. I decided to self clean this high tech 5 burner GE ProFile. I couldn't get the front door to lock so the self clean would turn on. Not only that the touch panel locked up all the buttons. Over the next 3 days and many calls to GE with no resolution, my stove was unusable . I placed 1 call to George's Appliance Service . I've used them many times over the years in the past and I knew that they are wonderful to deal with. This time I spoke to Mark he was very pleasant, professional, and patient. He asked what the problem is, and in 2 seconds flat he told me he thought 1 of the problems was a child lock was probably turned on. ( GE didn't even mention a child lock) Mark was so nice he told me to play around with it 1st and scheduled the repair for the end of the week just in case I unlocked it to save the cost of a service call. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only problem it turned out to be when repairman Dave came but, my stove was repaired efficiently in a half an hour. Dave showed me what he repaired and how he fixed the lock out button. G.A.S. is very fairly priced. I never feel like there ripping me off. If they have to order a part you'll know it right away. They will also tell you if it's worth fixing an appliance or better to just replace it so you wont have to replace that same appliance in another 6 months after the repair. They run their shop like the way people did 30 yrs ago. I wrote them a check no questions asked. I've dealt with big repair companies where you get the run a round, or the repairmen is late, or doesn't show or they will only take a CC because they don't trust you....I'd rather support my local mom and pop style repair place.
