He answered my calls or replied within hours to my messages and he sent guys to measure my windows. He explained the differences in installation and window type choices so I can choose what I need or want. Once the delivery team arrived they installed it within one day - they did an excellent job. Yanek was very patient with us in the quotation phase, he came down twice to show us window samples and discuss design options with us. We plan to replace the vinyl windows at our house. Did some research, found out the best way to go is the fiberglass not vinyl. We have quote on Milgard Ultra fiberglass windows from Deluxe Windows and Doors and another window company. Deluxe Windows has the best price, so we decided to replace the bedroom windows first to see how it turns out. We are very happy with the Milgard Ultra fiberglass windows. The windows came in about 10 weeks as promised. Once the windows were in, the installation was scheduled immediately. Gary the installer came on time, they were great with installing the new windows. After the job is, they took away the old windows and clean up the place. They did new construction window installation on five windows in two days. After the windows were replaced the difference is night and day. Our next plan is to replace the rest of the windows in the house. We will go with Deluxe Windows and Doors again. read more

Yanek and his crew were fantastic. They were able to give me a really good price for 4 windows, 3 of them needs the outside stucco to be removed due to water damage. Gary and another guy were able to install it in 1 day and it was a Sunday. The stucco guy came out on a Tuesday, did a really great job, matched the outside to the existing stucco. We had a couple of light rain shower, it hold up really well. We will definitely have them come over again to redo our other windows. read more

We needed 8 windows replaced with old aluminum frames that needed to be cut out of our SF house. Called several people for quotes and many seemed afraid of the job and wanted to do retrofits. Yanuk came by and told us they would rebuild the frames using wood after cutting them out. He also gave us a cheaper estimate than any of the retrofit people who wanted to cover the old frames and just replace the glass. Gary is the woodworking master who rebuilt all the frames with craftsmanship I have not seen much of lately. All the tiles that were knocked out around the kitchen window were regrouted. I cannot say enough about how good our windows look. I must say our windows look much better and cleaner on the seams than any of our neighbors. They build nice little frames you can paint too. The windows are very good quality and are soundproof from the street outside which we did not expect. They all do amazing work for a very good price and I will be calling them again if we ever need anymore windows. They also are really good at handling all the permits and inspections. We used Deluxe windows and doors to put in a new sliding glass patio door. I had gotten a number of estimates. Theirs was in the middle. I was extremely impressed by my conversation with Yanek who came out and measured the door and gave me a presentation. I like the fact they have a show room and I went to the show room and checked out exactly what I was buying in real life. I called 3 companies regarding replacing my 3 glass panel patio door. One told me they will have someone call me back but they never did. Another one gave me a quote only after I kept on calling them. Yanek was able to give me a cost estimate over the phone. We made an appointment and he came over within 1 to 2 days to take measurement. He showed us couple brands with price range from high, medium and low. Also, he took time to explain the pros and cons of these brands. His price is quite competitive and I am pleased with it so we signed the contract. During the process, I would say that Yanek is professional and he did not push us at all. The installation came 3 weeks later with 2 persons. They came on time. One of the side of my patio door frame have only 1/2" to 1" space for them to work with. It is very tight unless they took down the enclosed patio. Amazingly, they were able to replace the door without taking down any thing. They also did not damage the frame at all. They are very professional, kept the working area very clean, did a great job and finished the job on time. I am very very pleased with their work. read more

Initial Meeting: I contacted several companies in the Bay Area to replace five windows and install a french door (replacing my sliding patio door). The fastest responses came from Deluxe windows and their quotes were quite competitive. After exchanging several emails, Yanek invited me for a face to face meeting. While Deluxe Windows was closed on Saturdays, he made an exception for me to meet me on Saturday morning. During my meeting, he showed me all the options available and also provided his thoughts/recommendations. Never during the process, I felt compelled to go with any particular brand. (NOTE: Some of the other window companies were hard on selling only one brand). Based on this meeting, I realized the value Amerimax windows can offer over Milgard for almost the same pricing. I decided to go with retrofit vinyl windows from Amerimax and Vinyl French Patio doors from Milgard. I was happy with this experience so I decided to choose Deluxe Windows for next steps. I was asked to provide a small deposit to move forward with next steps. Measurements: Yanek was able to arrange for his technician to come over on the same day. Alex came over to take all the measurements. At this point in the process, I had to put down 50% of the agreed costs. The estimate for the French door went up slightly (by a few hundred dollars) as after taking measurements, Yanek and Alex found that they had to place a custom order for me for the French Patio doors because of the size of my opening and the product offerings from Milgard. Fabrication: The window and patio door fabrication took about 4 weeks. During this time, Yanek always responded to any questions I had as I was waiting for the windows to arrive. Installation: Yanek and team were flexible with the scheduling for the installation. I had to go out of town for a last minute trip and so my installation was scheduled a week after the windows were available. Instructions were sent prior to the installation to help me prepare for the day of the window installation. I had to take down all my binds and keep about 2 -3 feet of space around the window to help with the installation. The installation took 1.5 days. The two technicians who came to install were very professional, took all measure to keep the working space very clean. They laid down drop cloths everywhere, took the windows out one by one. They were fun to talk to. They were tired after working nonstop for 10 hours on day one and requested if they could complete the following day. The completed the final steps in the process on the second day and even replaced a small area in the exterior window trim where they identified. I would rate their professionalism an A+. Overall I am very happy that I chose Deluxe Windows and I plan on using them again for a few more window projects in my house later. I highly recommend them for your window needs. read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Alex. The first job was about 4 years ago and entailed the replacement of all the windows in a 3,000sf house. I never had any issues during the 4 years I lived there and the windows were great. Just used them again on a new larger house and they preformed the same as the first time. Great. We have two new construction and three retrofit windows installed by Delux window. We worked with Paul who helped us selected and purchased the windows, and later arranged all the install work. He is patient and listening, has very good people skills. Their installers are professional and courteous. After discovering we have termite damages from old leakage problem, which was expected from us, they helped us fixed them thoroughly. They used tools to get things done fast and efficient. They also explained to me how things supposed to be done, which made sense. By looking from the side, I'm pretty confident that we will not have the leakage problems with these windows anymore as they have put into protections every step out of the way. Deluxe Windows and Doors and Yanek are excellent. I got four different bids to replace all the windows in my home in Belmont, and Yanek was the obvious choice. They offer a range of quality windows at the best possible prices. Seriously, they were roughly tied for the lowest price bid, but light years more professional than any of the rest except the one guy whose bid was nearly twice as high. Two months after installation, I am so happy with my decision. Everyone involved was professional, punctual, and highly competent. Yanek was extremely thorough and answered all my questions. He followed up two or three times while I was chasing down bids from other less impressive contractors. If I told him I'd check back in two weeks, he would wait three or four, and then he would give me a call. It never felt pressured, but he clearly wanted my business. Whenever I called him, he always either answered or got back to me within a day. He recommended a very moderately priced option (Amerimax) instead of trying to persuade me to buy the most expensive window possible. When we signed a contract, he laid out exactly what would happen in terms of payment and installation. He let me know that it would take 4-5 weeks for the windows to come from the manufacturer, and once they arrived, it would take one day (!) to install them. The guy who took the measurements was fast and professional. The team of two who installed the windows did an incredibly good job, and they finished all twelve windows in about six hours. I've now had the new windows in my house for about two months, and they are fantastic. Deluxe included screens with all the windows, and every window opens perfectly. They look fantastic, and they keep out road noise much better than my old windows. I can't say enough nice things about Yanek and Deluxe. read more

I have pointed out details which I hope will help other Yelpers make a clear decision.... and/or ask the right questions if using Delux Windows. - Most other Yelper's here were assisted by Alex. Janek was the one who answered my call and came over for the estimate. - I don't think there was enough consultation. Perhaps I spoke too soon to let him know this was going to be a rental. I took his word for the brand of windows which was Cascade. I never heard of them but the price is right and that is what mattered to me. In hind sight, I probably would have stayed with a more familiar brand like Milguard. - I believe there should have been more questions asked by Janek. Being in sales myself, It is important to "understand" the customers needs and to also make 'suggestions." He wasn't terrible, but I got the feeling that his partner Alex mostly goes out in the field. All this just comes with expereince. - Janek's follow up's were often and the work was on schedule as promised. - This was a small job. 4 windows and a sliding patio door. It took 2 people. The installation took an entire day (9hours) so I felt good that they took their time to make sure everything was done properly. They left the house as clean as when they first arrived. Disposed of the old windows and any trash. - A couple of "dislikes." First was that the windows had finger prints and some residue. I had to go in and clean a few of them on the inside and outside. Clearly, if you are investing in brand new windows, you would think the installers would make sure you get to enjoy seeing through the windows without prints and dirt on them. - Secondly, The installer had my phone number. There was a gap between the Bamboo floors and the new patio door. Called the threshold. The installer went ahead and placed a piece of scrap wood to fill in that gap. I was dissapointed as the installer could have easily called me and question this gap. I would have told him there that I have extra matching bamboo flooring in the garage to fill in that gap so that everything matches. Basically, this little piece of wood made the job look cheap. They did come back to rectify the problem, but because the filler could not be removed, they did a "quick fix" which looked "ok" but would have been nicer if it was the matching bamboo piece. - In conclusion, from my experiences with other contractors, Delux Windows did a very good job. I would recommend them as long as you educate yourself a little about window replacements before making the first appointment. Made several appointments with different installers for replacement of window and doors. Yanek from Deluxe Windows came by and explained the differences between manufacturers. He asked me to stop by their local showroom to see in person what the differences are. The fact that they have a local showroom was a deciding factor. Decided on 2 Amerimax sliding french doors and a Milgard window. They weren't the cheapest, but they were very thorough. Installed the doors and windows and worked with me to get the alarm wires through the frames for the alarm connections. Installation was clean and complete. Been through several rain with no leaks. Although i only needed to replace two windows and a sliding door, I wanted to minimize the expense as much as possible since it was a rather unplanned renovation.
