Dangerously addictive!! I attended Brea's annual 4th of July celebration held at City Hall Park. So much fun!! DeM' Nutz had such a fun booth. Definitely my favorite!! Gary and Dana are using recipes that have been in their family for generations. Best Nutz you'll ever try...the perfect combination of crunchy and sweet pecans and walnuts!! Perfect as a topping on ice cream, yogurt, on the side of a cake, topping for cupcakes, dipped with strawberries and on a charcuterie board!! What they have: Honey Glazed Walnuts Spicy Honey Walnuts Honey Glazed Pecans Spicy Honey Pecans Nutz Dust What I couldn't resist getting... Honey Glazed Pecans Spicy Honey Pecans Honey Glazed Walnuts Pecan Dust Spicy Pecan Dust Don't forget their perfect ending fragrance candles, which smells heavenly!! Btw: no peanuts for those who have an allergy.

I regret to say I only bought one single bag of their spicy honey pecans. I should've bought 1000 bags

These were so delicious! My whole family loved them. The maple and sesame seeds add a great flavor. I can't wait to get more!

The historic shop has a charming old-fashioned feel, and the service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Every mochi tasted incredibly fresh, with a soft, pillowy texture that showcased the craftsmanship behind each handmade piece. **Sho-Mochi: 5/5** One of Fugetsu-Do's signature creations, the Sho-Mochi was a true standout. The vibrant blue mochi was incredibly soft and chewy, while the silky white chocolate ganache filling delivered a rich, creamy sweetness that melted effortlessly on the palate. **Strawberry Anko Mochi: 4/5** The strawberry anko mochi featured a soft, pillowy wrapper filled with a blend of strawberry and smooth white bean paste, then topped with a hazelnut chocolate ganache that added a rich, nutty sweetness. Unfortunately, the strawberry filling tasted somewhat artificial, lacking the fresh, vibrant fruit flavor I was hoping for. **Green Tea Mochi: 5/5** My love for matcha made this an easy standout. Filled with smooth white bean paste infused with matcha, it offered a pleasant balance of earthy, slightly bittersweet notes and subtle sweetness. **Mango Mochi: 5/5** Bursting with natural mango flavor, this mochi was wonderfully refreshing from the very first taste. Its springy chew created a pleasantly airy, satisfying texture, while the gentle sweetness rounded out the bright, fruity notes. Fugetsu-Do has earned its legendary reputation through generations of exceptional craftsmanship. From the incredibly fresh mochi to the diverse selection of handcrafted flavors, every piece reflects the care and tradition that have made this shop a beloved destination for decades. Whether you're visiting Little Tokyo for the first time or returning for a nostalgic treat, it's a timeless stop that's well worth experiencing.

I believe their outstanding mochi shop is the keystone to all of little tokyo and it's a must visit when you are in the area. They have fruity mochi and you can sometimes get it filled with red bean. Recently, they've had a Shohei Ohtani special, where it's a blue mochi filled with white chocolate ganache. My favorite is their chocolate mochi as it's simple, chewy, sweet, and delicious. In my visit this weekend, we got this blueberry mochi that was filled with the same white chocolate ganache that was in the shohei special. If you look around their storefront, you might find some hidden gems on the shelves. I got a salted caramel kit kat bag that was not cheap; however, it's also pretty hard to find. Overall, this is a gem and a pillar in the community!

Galco's will forever hold a special place in my heart…read more This is the OG grocery store we would walk to in the early 80"s. When they had penny candy machines, a big taxidermy deer head and the kindest owner. He once gave me and my sibling a big paper lunch bag full of candies! I love seeing the original check out stand, the little upper office where the owner would stand and the old fridge area where it once held fruits and veggies now old school candy bars. If you grew up in highland park in the 80s, this was the local market. How I miss those days! Highland Park is so different now! Btw Galco's makes some of the best sandwiches! Also if anyone knows where to get Stoney Tangawizi please let me know!

It has such a selection of candy from your childhood, and for kids, random unique gifts to keep them busy. but yesterday...all that flew out the window. I approached the sandwich counter and asked the person working (an angry woman apparently) what her favorite sandwiches are. After she took a minute to complain about how she had been making sandwiches all day and her brain is fried and she didn't really have any recommendations for me (and was seemingly annoyed at me even asking) she looked at the clock and advised that I was 2 minutes too late to order a hot sandwich. literally the 2 minutes she took to complain about her job cost me the sandwich. now, if it was my shop and a nice family came in and asked me my opinion on something and I took a minute or two to say the things that she said I would give them a sandwich and make that sandwich be the last sandwich of the day, but instead apparently my money wasn't green enough for her. She shut it down and two minutes later was out the door. she was rude, and honestly it just seemed that she didn't give an F. Today I called the store to speak with the owner and the person who answered the phone gave me the runaround. it was clear that either the workers didn't want to connect me with the owner or the owner doesn't want to hear the complaint. this place has gone downhill.
