    Cinnamon Sugar Sundae
    Tracy K.

I have been following this food truck for a while now on Instagram. Was happy that they ended up in Covina one day. I was really excited to try it. I ordered the cinnamon sugar sundae. The cashier who took my order was really nice. The person who made my order looked like he really didn't want to be there. Might be coincidence that there was something in his eye or something and I looked at him at the wrong moment, but it looked like he rolled his eyes when I asked him for extra spoon and napkins. The churros were meh and didn't taste fresh. I'm not sure what the whole hype is about. Maybe I should've not held my expectations too high. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal was a good idea to put with the ice cream though. Four stars for that. I don't think I'll be back.

I have been eating from Ridges for over a year now, and they never disappoint! This review is long overdue. I have tried nearly everything on their menu, and every item they offer is solid. My favorite is the strawberry ice cream sundae. The churros are always hot and cooked perfectly. They are also flavorful and go well with the soft and creamy ice cream they pair it with. I hope to be back soon. The food here definitely lives up to the hype. The staff here are great and always greet you with a smile.

The truck is not here all the time, but when it is, we usually grab something on our evening walks. I highly recommend the Strawberry Shortcake Churro Sundae. It's well balanced, and I don't think it's particularly sweet. We have tried the Nutella Nut Churro Sundae as well, but it tasted a bit plain to me. The crunchiness of the nuts also didn't seem to pair well with the churro's texture. The Nutella's soft texture balanced it well, though. Operating hours and dates are not marked on the truck, so it's a nice surprise when we come across the truck.

I had never heard of the Ridges Churro Bar truck until we saw them at the Best Bites food truck roundup in Lakewood a few weeks ago. We were standing in line at another truck with our two very patient toddlers when a smiling lady comes up to me and asks me if she could give them a concoction of their expertise. The skeptic in me was on guard, but I quickly saw her shirt or maybe it was an apron. Then our girls started jumping with joy over it. Geeze, how could I turn it down?! Like a good mum I sat them down at a picnic table and let them dig in. They loved the churro and offered me a few bites. So good... I can't complain about the ice cream or one of my favorite cereals as a kid was scattered on top - Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the win! And like a good customer, I raised one of the girls up so she could put a couple dollars in the Ridges tip jar. Reciprocating kindness is such an easy thing to teach youngsters. Highfalutin churro snobs might not think this is the cream of the crop, but this churro truck was fantastic in my book. Follow @ridgeschurrobar on IG for their adorable truck schedule.

Earlier during the COVID-19 quarantine, Ridges did residential stops and, as such, skyrocketed to my favorite food truck. They offered churro boxes, containing 10 churros, 4 cups of vanilla icecream, and all the toppings you can think of to make churro sundaes, including chocolate sauce, caramel, sprinkles, and peanuts. The box is just the right amount for splitting amongst 2 families, so long as not everyone wants a whole cup of icecream. The churros were warm and crispy and generously coated in cinnamon and sugar. The churros were enough for me but the kids loved the icecream and the variety of toppings, which admittedly was very fun! Loved this concept!

I don't have any bad comments on the Ridges Churro Bar truck. If you guys don't know, it's a good truck that parks itself in certain cities on certain days. If you follow them on Instagram... they'll always let you know where they're gonna be the day of and the next day so you can always catch them! I was able to try them out one day in Monterey Park when they parked on Atlantic. It was actually a cold rainy day so it kinda sucked eating ice cream when it was freezing but I really wanted to try it out. It's super sweet. If you don't have a sweet tooth, you're not going to like it. It'll be too much for you. My boyfriend wasn't very fond of it due to how sweet it was but I love ice cream and I have the biggest sweet tooth on earth. This was my cup of tea. Workers were nice. The line was pretty lengthy but five stars!

Just want to say that we just hired them for our drive by baby shower and could not be any happier. Every guest text us about how amazing their churros and icecream were. Every single guest!!:). I love to spoil my guests at parties and by far this was one special treat they truly enjoyed!! Thank you so much @ridgeschurrobar I will definitely hire them again!! They arrived on time and treated our guests with amazing customer service I also wanted to add flexible they were. We unfortunately were affected by COVID and had to re schedule our drive thru shower and tgwy were so understanding. They were able to accommodate our new date and were always so responsive to ALL of my questions and requests through email! I have never hired a caterer that was so professional!

I have seen that kind of place at the 626 Night Market many times in Arcadia before, so I decide to give it a try at their churro truck instead to see what the hype is all about! Overall great service and it's probably one of the best churro trucks I've ever been to! I order their Fruity Pebble Cereal Churros & Ice Cream which cost me eight dollars with no tax at all and it taste so delicious!! The churro is very crunchy and soft both at the same time which I really like for my taste! The very cold vanilla ice cream really hits the spot too. I highly recommend this amazing place if anyone hasn't try it there yet! Five stars is definitely my total rating for fast service also! Thank you all so much for everything and I will be back again soon!!

Nutella Nut Churro with Salted Caramel Ice Cream

Before having Ridges Churro Bar (food truck), I would have never tried churros and ice cream together. Now, I find myself craving it whenever I want dessert! First spotted in First Friday's food cart festival--it's a go-to way to end my outdoor dining experience. What I Got: Nutella Nut Churro (Combo of Nutella and peanuts) and Salted Caramel Ice Cream Worth Your Money? Churro ($5) + Ice Cream ($7) = $12 without tax. Between two people it's a nice little splurge. It's enough to keep you satisfied, but wanting more next time. Score (Out of 10): 8

It looks very very delicious but the ice cream was not really worth it. Maybe the first time you can get it with ice cream but I couldn't finish it and thought it was over the top. The fruity pebbles one was good, I tried my friend salted caramel and that was better than the Nutella one. Definitely worth trying and I would get salted caramel for sure next time. My husband really enjoyed the fruity pebble and he's a Nutella nut

Strawberry shortcake churro sundae (limited edition).

I came across Ridges at the 626 Night Festival (well really on Instagram) and I definitely had to check in to see what the buzz was about. Needless to say, I did not leave disappointed. The crowd favorite is the fruity pebbles churro sundae, but I was sold on the limited edition strawberry shortcake. The portion was the perfect amount of sundae meets churro, so you were not left disappointed or disgustingly full. Tip: you can also purchase just the churros as well. My friend got the salted caramel churro and she was very happy with the mixture of salt and caramel (her baby even got in on the action).

All of my life I have obsessing and crave Churro because they are crunchy and crispy when coming out of the fryer. I try them in Mexico they more fresh and taste so good with cinnamon sugar they use real cinnamon and real cane sugar that's why their are so good. I have heard of Ridges Churro bar they have Churro truck in Downtown L.A. but the Ridge Churro bar truck is in Monterey Park I was surprise and curious to their churros with ice cream. They many varieties of Churro with ice cream, the most popular seller is the fruity pebbles yes cereal with Churro that's very creative. I brought one to try it out. The churro with fruity pebbles is amazing good and including the ice cream I let the ice cream I have instant fruity pebbles milk cream tasted really good.

    This is $8. Lol

The churros were decent; nothing amazing. The ice cream they put it in was good though. Kinda pricey

Then, an eternity ago, it closed and we were sad. Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.

I bought 30g of their matcha and admittedly thought when they didn't give it to me at the counter that they forgot, but I sat down at a table to eat my ice cream and decided to just ask for it after I finished. Thank goodness I did, because the cashier came up to my table about 10 minutes later and handed me a little bag of fresh-ground matcha. She took a second to explain to me how to store it and keep it fresh, and I just really appreciated the extra bit of customer service, even if it's something they're maybe expected to do. When I have the money, I'll definitely come back and get their 100g pack! [Parking]: I typically park at the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St). Unfortunately, the lot has a new parking rate starting in January 2026 with $1 per hour for the first two hours, $5 for each additional hour, and a $6 flat rate after 5 PM. I do not recommend the designated parking garage at Weller Court as the rate is $4 for every 15 minutes (unless you get validation from Marukai Market after spending over $25.) [Atmosphere & service]: The cafe has indoor seating with public outdoor tables also available. Personally this shop has more of a grab-and-go vibe. I was not a fan when the cashier asking whether I wanted to upgrade my drink from 16 oz to 24 oz and whether I wanted to buy a cookie. [Menu]: Some of Yelp's top recommended drinks include the Iced Matcha Latte, Strawberry Matcha Latte, and Iced Hojicha Latte. The shop also offers matcha or hojicha soft serve ice cream. The shop serves coffee from Demitasse (Demitasse's very first cafe was located across from Midori Matcha Cafe, but that location has since closed with the sole location Santa Monica.) *** Hojicha latte (Iced, 16oz Regular, Low Fat milk - $6.50): It tasted a bit diluted, but at least the drink tasted like actual hojicha and did not have a chocolate aftertaste. *** 3.5-star for the drink and bump down due to the attempted upselling.
