I asked two friends from the area where to hit when visiting Lebanon, and both immediately said Demos'. I enjoyed the old-school ambiance and service was very good, as they frequently checked on us. The provided bread was some of the best bread I've ever had with a meal (up there with Red Lobster's addicting biscuits), with a cheesy type of crust on it! The salmon dip appetizer tasted pretty good but there were some huge chunks taking up the bowl making it tough to grab with the tortilla chips. I wasn't a fan of the cocktails. The Spring menu Spiked Iced Green tea tasted good but only made up a third of a glass, making it more of a shot than a cocktail. And my Old Fashioned was pretty watery. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted fine though it could have used a bit more sauce for the vermicelli and the meatballs were very dry. My friends spoke very highly of their blackened chicken dishes though. I can see why Demos' is a middle TN staple though I would want to try something else and avoid the cocktails next time I visit. read more

Demos in Lebanon was an okay experience overall. The service from our server was excellent--they were friendly, attentive, and did a great job throughout the meal. The food was a bit hit or miss. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, and while the chicken itself was cooked well and tasted good, the Alfredo wasn't my favorite. The noodles didn't seem like the right choice for an Alfredo dish, and the sauce didn't have the rich flavor I was expecting. I also tried the chicken and rice soup, which was decent but nothing that really stood out. The atmosphere was just average. It felt like some of the employees didn't really want to be there, which made the restaurant feel less welcoming. I can't express how awful the food was here. The cocktails were awful. Not even close to how they should taste. They have this bizarre appetizer that's cheesy spinach with... diced egg whites. Served with tortilla chips. It was recommended by our server who said it was super popular. I have no idea why. It was way over priced (thank God for the tiny serving size) and practically inedible. This is a family owned restaurant with 3 locations and I have coming to this place for a long time. It gets packed on the weekends and I went on a Monday for lunch and it was pretty busy. That being said, the service was very good and the food came out in a timely manner. The staff are friendly and the food is good. They have a little of everything from Steak, Chicken, Seafood, Pastas, appetizers, etc. They offer Wine, Whiskeys and Beer. They have weekday lunch specials along with some drink specials. The Chicken and Rice soup is delish and they have Mexican Spaghetti which I've never seen anywhere else. They have a Spaghetti sampler where you can try up to 3 different pastas on 1 plate. I want to give Demos' a five-star rating because of their amazing staff! From the friendly hosts who seat you to the diligent cleaners, everyone was incredibly kind. Our waiters Alex and (can't remember her cute name), helped us navigate our group of seven, including two individuals in wheelchairs. The servers were extremely patient with our two elderly members who complained about every little thing. Which was unnecessary as everything was good. Although our family outing may sound like it didn't go as planned, it did! The food was good, baked potato and steamed broccoli. As a vegan with allergies, I appreciated that they did their best to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Some of us might be back but without the complainers. ;) read more

Came here on a Monday afternoon during our drive from Nashville to Knoxville. I got the soup, grilled flounder with zucchini on the side. They also gave some bread on the side, which was soft and looked like it had cheese baked on top. First they just gave me the zucchini because they said the fish was burned, so they had them cook another one. The second came out perfectly with even more zucchini. Lol. The service was great, the waiter was very attentive and apologetic for having to wait for the second fish. The restaurant was fairly busy. read more

Found this restaurant on Yelp. First visit showed it's definitely a local favorite as it was filled at noon on a weekday with patrons - mostly of golden age. Service was fast and impeccable. Managers frequently assisted staff and checked on each table ensuring good service. Food was very good though both my steak and my husband's were overcooked and not very tender. Flavor was good. The "famous" rice and chicken soup was disappointing as it was a very thin broth base and not exceptionally different. Marinara sauce on spaghetti was fresh and unique. Very welcoming. We sat at the bar with Christina as our wait staff. The kitchen made a mistake with our order and brought salad and main course out at the same time. We were ok with that but customer service dictated that Rachel, GM, gave us a discount. Not necessary but appreciated. We both had the Delmonico steak and it was flavorful and tender. Delicious! This place was busy on a Friday night when we visited. It was about 6 pm, but we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered soup, salad, and mozzerella chicken. I love that you can get spaghetti as a side dish, and they offer a few different sauces. Our food came out in fairly quickly and it tasted great. Not sure what happened to this place. I have frequented this restaurant in every location for over 20 years. Tonight was my last time. My husband had blackened Cajun pasta that was nothing short of a grease pit. Not sure where the "chicken" comes in / there were three tiny pieces on there. The salad was basically lettuce drenched in the most fabulous dressing I've ever tasted but I didn't go there for an $80 dinner for 2 tablespoons of dressing! Gross! read more

On a brief trip to TN I stumbled upon this gem of a family restaurant. From the moment my friend and I walked in everyone was smiles and friendly chatter. Our waitress was Gracie who was amazing and sweet. One of those people whose smile is contagious. We started with the meatball appetizer which was delicious and had an excellent marinara. We both got the stuffed potato with a side salad and they were both hot, tasty and filling. The prices were very reasonable and overall a great dining experience. Halfway through the meal, I realized we were in the south and asked if they had sweet tea - and the answer was yes. Then I thought better of it and said I probably shouldn't have it now since I would be up all night. That sweetheart brought me a sweet tea on the house in case I wanted a sip. The food was solid and while the spot was busy, we never felt rushed and it was never too loud. The spinach app was great as was the cheese toast. I had a good experience here last Veterans Day and wanted to make a return visit. This is a local favorite so there will likely be a wait when you arrive. The staff seem to have a great system though and ample waiting area. The dining room is pretty big so they stay busy. Once seated, I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine. I misread the menu (see photos) which was kind of misleading. The chicken entrees say underneath the title "Chicken" that they include a "side dish, and house salad or soup" I was so hungry I missed the ** double asterisk next to the chicken fettuccine that said "** No side included with this item" So upon ordering, I said I wanted broccoli. I really wish the waitress would have known her menu and stopped me saying "Are you sure you want a side - that item does not include a side" but she didn't. When the check came I asked about it and she immediately asked if I wanted to speak to a manager and I said yes. I then went through my picture I took (for Yelp) and noticed the ** (facepalm) I double downed on the mistakes because I forgot to ask for a veteran's discount. (This restaurant does offer veteran's discounts but I am unsure of the amount - I just heard someone else ask for one). Regardless of mistakes, the food is really good! The bread they give you is tasty. The chicken was a little on the dry side but still edible. Next time I will know for next time to READ the menu carefully. read more

We all 3 got lunch portions, I got one of my favorites in the lasagna, my hubby got the salmon starter, then the spaghetti duo to have samples of several different sauces. This place is not all it's hyped to be. The food is not that good and it's always very loud, I think because the tables are too close together. The rice soup and rolls are awesome but I wouldn't really be excited to eat anything else. Waiters try their best but the place is always packed and they are running around like crazy so be patient with them. It's a clean place to dine but way too overhyped and hard to get seating. Our first time at Demo's restaurant and it was sooooo good. We did have a 35 min wait, but we talked to another party that was waiting, and they told us it's pretty normal. The wait was well worth it!!!. Once we were seated, we were warmly greeted by our awesome waitress Molly. She was prompt, helpful, and very friendly. Our food came out pretty quickly, surprisingly quickly because of how busy they were. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Mine was awesome, tasty, spiced just right and very hot when it was brought out. Also, for as busy as they were, things were very clean. Not a lot of regular places to go in Lebanon but Demos (pronounced DEEMASIS) is on my short list. With the way our town is growing, we should have a lot more places in the next 3-5 years. Anyhow, their chicken rice soup is a standard for me every time. It's really good and I always upgrade to a bowl instead of the standard cup. I'm also a sucker for this ground beef plate. Always one of my favorite stops when traveling from Knoxville to Nashville. If we don't stop here we will hit Demos in Nashville. Always had great service and just love the sauce options provided. If your making a first visit make sure you start with a bread sampling of their sauces. They bring out a platter and will explain the types for you. It helps decide your selections for lunch or dinner. They have multiple ways you can combine and pick more than one for your dinner. I ended up choosing the pesto Alfredo spaghetti and was pleased with how light it was as I was not looking for something too heavy on my stomach. I could drink the broth from that soup in lieu of coffee! It's not that it's spicy or anything strange...it's just a very good, clean, tasty broth...just enough flavor and salt without being salty. We enjoyed the atmosphere because there was a great cross-section of customers. Young families, couples, old folks (we're in the 55+ group now by a year or two)...there were two young, teenaged boys who had been playing baseball, still in their uniforms, at the table next to us. One had pasta and one had a grilled chicken and broccoli. I knew the food had to be good for teen boys to eat there as opposed to fast food, and then for one of them to choose broccoli!!!
