It's is a complete joke for no other reason than they just don't seem to care. Not a staffing issue as I've seen in other reviews in my particular case. Came in yesterday (Saturday) morning alone for breakfast. There were two other tables of 2-3 people in the whole place when I arrived so place was maybe at 10% capacity. Both tables already had their food. There was no staff present when I walked in so I sat at the bar, the bartender was also not present. I sat there for 10 minutes or so before anyone came out. The waitress that did eventually come out but walked by me to check her tables and didn't pay me any attention and then disappeared into the back again. She went back and forth a few times continuing to check tables and not address me or send out the bartender. As I was about to leave she came over without a word, dropped a menu, didn't take a drink order and walked away. I've been here for 30 minutes or so now finally and have a menu and no other acknowledgement I exist. Finally the bartender comes out from the back and asks what he can get me. I ask him for a cup of coffee and before I can say anything else he disappears into the back. I was fully ready to order but figured he was grabbing it and coming right back. He was literally in the back ANOTHER 20 minutes and when he finally returned without the coffee he said he was making a fresh pot. He finally returns with the coffee (in a paper to go cup? This is a sit down morning brunch) and takes my order. I ordered waffles and waited. I've been here nearly an hour now in a practically empty restaurant and just now ordering. Another table comes in, gets sat, and eventually gets their food. I'm still waiting. The bartender pops back out for a second, sees me looking royally pissed at this point and I point at the new table eating and motion back at him like what the hell is going on? He walk over and says "I burned all your waffles and had to start over." Ok... what's it take to cook a waffle... 2-3 minutes? We're 90 minutes deep at this point. Finally someone else appears with my order. Again I will be fair, when I did finally get it the order was pretty good however at this point I had a 10-15 minutes before I had to be somewhere else. I wasn't expecting breakfast to take two hours. I ate about half of it and asked for the check. They dropped it without a word and I paid and left. Let me say I grew up working in restaurants and bars and I can be very understanding of a full restaurant that's understaffed and doing their best. THIS WAS NOT THAT. They literally just did not care. To say this place is grossly mismanaged would to be implied that someone is managing it at all, which doesn't seem to be the case. The food was good but not good enough to deal with this again anytime soon. read more

We are scoping out places for our dog breed National Show for 2026, and we like to support local... We had the opportunity to eat on the patio or inside. We chose to eat inside because I am still recovering from thoracic surgery. We were sat right away and our drink order was taken. We also ordered as we knew what we wanted to eat. My friend chose the Crab Cake Benedict change poached eggs to scrambled eggs. She stated that they were delicious and would order them again with the sweet tea and the home fried potatoes. I had the Traditional Eggs Benedict with coffee... They brought me out French Vanilla Creamer and sugar packets. The coffee was good and strong. That was probably the best Eggs Benedict and home fried potatoes that I have had in a while... Definitely looking forward to going back for Brunch as well as dinner too. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. We were getting on a boat and stopped by to pass the time. We only wanted to get drink from the bar, didn't want to sit down and the one wait staff said it was good to order from the bar. Went up to the bar, someone had just ordered and walked away with their drinks. The man absolutely ignored us standing right in front of him for a good 5 minutes. No hello, someone will be with you, I'm just a bar back, nothing. Literally was doing nothing but playing with water and dishes. The other bartender was finishing up a few drinks and still never looked at us. I gave up and went to my friends where the one spoke up and asked if we could order from the bar and she said "yes" and asked for two bushwackers. That woman never looked at us again, never made the drinks, continued to clean / empty plates / talk to anyone but us. Finally a nice younger woman walked up and asked about seating and I told her the situation, told her we're passing on the drinks and to tell a manager as well as understand they'll be getting a Yelp review. This was absolutely awful service. Whether it was discrimination towards my group of diverse friends or not being regulars or whatever was making them absolutely ignore a group of people who wanted to pay for drinks, it was uncalled for. I can't brag enough about the Cumberland Canteen!! I've eat here couple times a month or more. I've never been disappointed. The menu is nicely done, with lots to choose from. Went by the bar today for a drink. Unfortunately we had to leave, as we felt uncomfortable. We stood directly in front of a bartender who didn't greet us or give us any eye contact at all. Finally caught the attention of another bartender and tried to order a couple of bushwackers. There didn't seem to be any urgency or desire to help us, so we cancelled our order. It's a shame because we had a group of 10 thirsty customers, but we can't stay at a place that doesn't want to serve us! Maybe they were having a bad day, it was hot out, or maybe they were short staffed, but I'll have to take my business elsewhere. read more

This is a tough one to say as they were way under staffed for Valentine's Day. The waitresses were working their butts off to keep up but without a hostess, bus boy or bartender it is almost impossible to stay on top of your tables, most of the food was good but we shouldn't have to sit for 3 hours to get served. 11/13 Stopped in for a quick dinner after a long trip. I had the Ruben and my husband had the Prime French Dip. Both sandwiches were delicious. The Prime French Dip had so much meat on it it was more of an open faced sandwich, not a complaint....just a warning. Every meal we've had here has been good. read more

I arrived around 11:40am on a Sunday. I was originally told there was a 45 minute wait for a table. It was not busy, and there plenty of places to sit - inside and outside. Very odd. I ended up being seated in less time (about 15 minutes). The patio was open so I dined outside. The bar tender was nice and attentive. She was working hard. So her service was adequate, but the amount of time it took for the meal to come out was a bit excessive. From the time I was seated, it took about 85 minutes to get my meal. The onion rings did come out first, which were fine. Crunchy - not soggy. The sliders were decent. Fries were fine. Waffles & chicken were okay. Nothing life altering as far as the food itself. If I could give a minus review I would. Went here the first weekend we were in the RV park and the service and food were atrocious. The owner and his son who is the so called kitchen manager, are the rudest people I have ever come across in this industry. Having been in the restaurant business myself for years, I can equivocally say this man has no business being in the restaurant industry. If weather allows, outside would be a better choice. It was pretty loud with all the large parties and we were on folding tables. Not the nicest of ambiance. Service was good. The service was great. They were communicative about a large group's order that had gone in which would make us have to wait a little bit, but even the wait wasn't bad. I love when people communicate with you though. It's probably what made the wait not seem like a big deal. My husband said the Mariachi omelet was really good. He saw a burrito being delivered and was second guessing his choice, but he was very happy when he got his omelet. He said it was spicy and very tasty. It was also very large which makes the price a bit more tolerable. I had The Euro Snob. There were only a couple of egg choices that were vegetarian and I do love a good Eggs Benedict. This was on brioche with Gouda, shrimp, and truffle hollandaise. I had barely gotten my food when the cook delivered a sprinkling of the truffle powder. She said I'd want it and she was right. That's one of the biggest reasons I ordered the dish. The dish needed the truffle to balance the sweetness from the brioche. It wasn't until I finished the dish that I remembered it was supposed to come with tomato. That would have added and acid and I think that would have made the dish almost perfect. It was yummy. I wish the Gouda and truffle were heated with the hollandaise to make a nice creamy sauce. The Gouda was in shreds. Again, this was a very tasty dish, but it was so close to perfection you start to notice where it needs a little tweak. I would have loved this dish with a lightly dressed leafy salad. Great remodel job on the entire restaurant. They always seem short staffed. One pregnant waitress at lunch. I felt like I should hop up and bus tables for her. Comfortable seating overlooking the Cumberland. The shrimp appetizer is delicious. I'd order a side of bread or steal your friend's pizza crust for sopping up the sauce. It's my favorite. We've given this place 4 tries and have had the most atrocious service each time. 1 hour+ wait for food after ordering, ordered a beer, waited 20 minutes, hunted down our server (no idea where she disappeared to) to ask about it and she was "going to check on it" after TWENTY minutes. The most recent time, we waited at the hostess stand for someone to seat us, no one came. The bartender HAD to have seen us, but said nothing from 10 feet away. My husband finally went and found someone who said to seat ourselves. We walked out after the 20 minute wait for beer. The baked potato was not hot. Only mildly warm. The corn was cold. their solution was to replace the $16 12 ounce prime rib with a $35 ribeye, which they charged us for. We arrived at about 5:00, and while the restaurant was filling up, it wasn't too busy. Our server was friendly and professional, but it was her first day back since last summer, and it was clear that she was unfamiliar with both menu and drink items. Frankly, putting a server alone on their first day back, especially on a busy Saturday night, was management malpractice. She should have been paired with an experienced server for her first day. My wife asked for a house Pinot Noir, and I ordered a beer. Our server left, and came back to say they have ANY Pinot Noir on the bar. On a Saturday night?? Not a good start. Oh, they also had no West Coast IPA, which is local from the Cedar City Brewery in Lebanon - seriously, no local beer? We then ordered the Sausage and Pretzel platter, which was delicious - a large portion, hot and tasty. Next, I decided to order an Old Fashioned. What the bar produced was bourbon and coke in a pint glass - not even close, so I sent it back and had the bar try again. This time I was brought a drink that was in a rocks glass, looked to be the right color, and had an orange peel and cherry. Then I took a sip - instead of simple syrup, they used water with the bourbon, and no bitters. I hate wasting good bourbon, so I drank it anyway, but was disappointed yet again. We then ordered the Mulberry St. pizza, which was described as a Margherita style pizza with roasted tomatoes, fresh basil, Romano cheese and mozzarella. What we got was a pizza with what must have been a pound of mozzarella, completely overwhelming every other ingredient and sliding everywhere. The tomatoes were from a can, served whole instead of sliced. The basil was absolutely not fresh and was burnt. It was miles from what a Margherita pizza should be. The final disappointment was with their Bushwhacker ice cream drink. We were going to order one, but before we could we noticed a woman at the next table being served one. She took one sip and said it was undrinkable. I then asked our server if she had had any others sent back and she said "yes, a couple". So needless to say we skipped the Bushwhacker. After all this, I can only hope this was some kind of horrible anomaly. I believe in second chances, so we'll go back one more time. They certainly have nowhere to go but up. read more

My steak was no bigger than my hand and it was supposed to be a 16oz there was no way at all that that was 16oz. My husband's prime rib was not even cut clean and probably 1/4 of it was waste. We arrived before our reservation time,so went to bar for drinks. There were 4 of us and one couple beside us. Two friends ordered tanqueray and tonic with an orange. Hubby ordered a draft (smart guy). I ordered kettle one martini. Hubby got beer promptly. Bartender left bar and came back. Only enough gin for 1 drink and no oranges. So our friend let her husband have the gin and ordered kettle one with cranberry. No kettle one-ok-Grey goose -no Grey goose Both of us ask for KJ chardonnay. He leaves bar, again, and comes back -no KJ. By this point 20min has gone by. We said we just came from the liquor store and have wine in the car. Would they be willing to waive corkage because of our woes. Manager tells bartender -no. Ended us with a Tito martini and Moscow mule. The woman beside us was disappointed with her Nashville hot chicken wrap. All breading, over fried and hardly any chicken. The manager comes over and starts arguing with her about the amount of chicken which (even from where I was sitting) looked awful. She picked at it and they left.
