I call gateway, and Nick picks up his phone and is literally at my house in under 20 minutes. He checks the meter and does some other things and we conclude it's not an underground leak but something else having to do with the hose faucet. (An easy home depot type fix) I tried to pay him for coming out on a Sunday evening, and he refuses to take any money insisting he didn't actually do anything and just that I should call him if I have a problem where he actually has to work. This man was clearly competent and knew what he was doing, but there are plenty of those out there. The key for a home contractor is that hes honest and won't take you for a ride. But it turned out they did an incompetent job of resealing the tub, so it was still leaking. And six months later, the water damage was back. I made repeated attempts to contact them about this, but they just ghosted me. That's when I checked the California State Licensing Board website and discovered that Get Rapid Restoration doesn't even have a license, and had been doing the work illegally. Stay away. Hire a legitimate, licensed contractor to do the work competently and legally.
