Background: issued some type of home warranty service when bought house. Warning this is code for suspect agents working under this type warranty, as both I used were incompetent. IMHO, they offer reduced rates because no one else will hire them. Further, Home Depot and Lowe's personnel will make up excuses for inability to install gas products their company sells OR simply state you need a gas plumber to hookup gas in addition to their install team. Yes, the same install team you already paid for with item purchase. I digress. Whenever I need information I call Service Pro, because aside from affable nature, i get precise information from a real expert in the field. Go here first, then if you desire get other opinions. I am willing to bet a small confectionery you will pick Service Pro, every time; albeit the fun size candy bar... lamenting changes.

During this time, I learned that not everyone likes a do-it-yourself like me. Some even said I wanted, "free work." Not true! However, the current installed prices spoke to me. I grabbed my tools! Pulling a local permit as a home owner/builder in Florida, I installed a 2 ton (24k) ACIQ-24-HP32 condenser and ACIQ-24-AH32 air handler, and related mechanical. This system replaced a 26 year old 1.5 ton (18K) Trane XE-1000 condenser and TWGO18A air handler that was showing its age -- like me. One of my main hardware vendors, HVAC direct, patiently worked with me as I learned the new system requirements. With help from Isaiah Luke Appliance Repair to do the final commissioning of the system, the new ACIQ inverter system passed local inspection! The new system is a noticeably quieter and produces considerable heat split by comparison with the previous system. The fact that the ACIQ has a higher BTU rating, (24K) a higher seer rating (18), and yet uses smaller breakers, 30A down to 25A on the outside unit and 30 down to 15 amps for the inside unit and doesn't dim my lights when it runs, says it all. We also have a dishwasher control panel refusing to change functions without having to slam the door, which is frustrating. Both repair estimates were more than fair, but based on Shawn's information and guidance, we are putting off the minor inconveniences and looking into replacements in the not too far distance. He actually asked to borrow a tool from me, spent a lot of time on his phone trying to figure things out, and even had to call another tech for help. After all that, he gave me a guess about why my freezer wasn't working, while also trying to redirect me by saying my refrigerator might still be under warranty and that I should contact them instead. That's something that should have been clarified before the appointment, not after wasting my time. Now, four days later, my freezer is still not working. The part hasn't even been ordered, and I've been told yet another technician needs to come out. To make matters worse, they've given me another vague 4-5 hour window to wait around for them. Overall, this has been an incredibly frustrating and time-wasting experience. Poor communication, lack of preparation, and zero sense of urgency. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
