I'd give this location a big fat ZERO if it were possible. We stopped in just for dessert and coffee. We were seated quickly enough but from that point forward things went decidedly down hill. We were seated and shortly after that another group was seated next to us. Our server brought us coffee, that could best be described as lukewarm. While waiting for an exceptionally long time for our server to return and take our dessert order I noted she stopped at the booth of the folks who arrived after us. By now we had been waiting, with now cool coffee for about ten minutes. So, she's asking what they would like to drink and THEN takes their food order! I waited about another five minutes and when she still hadn't returned we packed it in. While waiting at the register to pay for our coffee the manager showed up and a big discussion ensued with another customer about her mishandled bill. Waiting another few minutes, with no conclusion in sight, I plopped $2 on the counter and told him I thought that was MORE than reasonable for poor service and lukewarm coffee. We took our family to our local Denny's in Ely, NV. The food was good the atmosphere was smokey. Shirlene the server was polite.

Shirlene was a great waitress. Very attentive and a nice lady. Service was prompt and the food was good and cooked to order.

I'm not giving Denny's four stars because it's the best meal ever. They are entitled to four stars because there are almost no chain restaurants in Ely and when you want a sit down breakfast this is probably your only choice. So thank you Denny's for bringing some normalcy to Ely. Now I got the supreme omelette. I substituted pancakes for my toast. That was an awesome choice. It was a filing meal and the pancakes were light and fluffy. The kids got chicken tenders and fries. The chicken fingers were over cooked... Almost burnt. That was a bad mistake. The kitchen must've been busy. So they need to be more attentive in the kitchen. All in all it was a pleasant experience... In remote northern Nevada. I would consider this as a good excursion for your breakfast needs. Give them a try. read more

We live in Ely and we come to Denny's often. This morning we had Tammi as our server and was not disappointed with our service. She was on top of our drinks and never let us go empty. I can't review the food because after 40 minutes, our order wasn't taken. On August 5th, we stayed at the Hotel Nevada, very nice stay, but we went to Denney's for dinner around 7:30 pm. We were seated and given menu's. My family, there were four of us, decided on what we would like to eat. I had a clear view back to where the kitchen is and where the waitresses get the drinks. I saw the our waitress who brought us our menus standing back there doing clean up. I made eye contact with her a few times and even nodded at her in an attempt to communicate that we were ready to order. After 15 minutes of doing this, I finally got up and walked over to her and asked, "Can we get some water and we are ready to order." She responded with, "I will get to you momentarily." a few minutes later she came over and gave us glasses of water and told us that some other waitress was suppose to handling our order and that she would talk to her and if that waitress couldn't take our order, she would get our order taken. She then walked back to the same area that she had been since we were seated and talked to no one. No over the next 25 minutes, she never left the area and was serving no one else. After almost 40 minutes of being there and not having our order taken, we looked for other restaurants near the hotel and found one. We got to leave and I told the waitress that the time period we was there and were not waited on was ridiculous and that it was very poor business. She asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager and I told that if the manager allowed people like her to work in the manner she was, then it would be unless. My wife, two children and I then left that place and found a great restaurant just south of the hotel. Now there were only two employees of this Denney's that we dealt with: the hostess who passed us along to the waitress who seated us. The hostess was very pleasant and I have no critics of her other than positive. In terms of the waitress, I don't know if my family and I were in a ego battle between two Denney's waitresses on who was going to wait on us or not, but the end result was that this incident motivated me to warn other potential patrons of what they and their family might experience at this specific Denney's in Ely, Nevada. My hope is that the management of this Denney's see this review, confirms it through the video from this incident, and takes the appropriate corrective action to ensure that customers are not treated this way again. I for one will not patronize any Denney's again because of it. read more

Worst waitress I've ever had wait on us. Just plain RUDE! when it was mentioned she brought reg. Coffee and not decaf as ordered she actually sighed! Seemed completely annoyed with her customers. Came in for lunch with husband. He ended up having to work over. So I ordered the super bird. It was far from super!! There were two very thin slices of turkey a slice of tomato and a piece of bacon. Basically was a grilled bread sandwich. Also took 35 mins to get it. And was not very busy in the restaurant . The server was good. read more

The local Denny's is inside of the Hotel Nevada casino. It's a Denny's, so you are likely already familiar with the menu. They're a middle of the road comfort food for travelers looking for food they know will be decent to good. The local cooks are on the better side, though they tend to send out appetizers and entrees at the same time. One person working the whole floor. I was seated at a table for ten minutes. A man came in and sat at the counter and was waited on right away. I moved to the counter. The server kept passing by so I asked for a coffee. She said I serve in the order people sit. I said I was sitting over there for ten minutes. She brought me a coffee. She saw the voucher and said the hotel gave me the wrong voucher. To avoid the debate I said I would just pay money. I've been going to Denny's for years but this was a bad experience. This place WAS horrible!!!!! We ate here twice because we were staying at casino. The first time our food was burnt, the toast tasted like it was toasted then re-warmed on the griddle. Mine tasted like they broke the egg shells in and didn't try to fix it. We then waited for 20 minutes to get drink orders in and menus. The waitress was very rude and only came to our table when she brought the food. Wasn't expecting a lot from Denny's in general but this was terrible. We had a small order and every other table got their food before us. Even the big orders. Our waitress brought my juice out with the food. Eggs were nasty and the sausage was burnt. Pancakes were mush and hash brown portion was tiny. Good thing I was just passing through.
