Went in there for mother's Day. Many tables were dirty with dirty dishes. Dirty bathroom and long lines. Left immediately.

Ok. It's Denny's expect to be disappointed ignored by wait staff and served institutional food reheated. This location is dirty Wait time 30 minutes during a rather slow Saturday morning No toast with skillet breakfast. Chunks of red skin potatoes were cold and hollow. Ordered bacon extra crispy and fat was still pale yellow and glistening so waitress microwaved it to inedible mass. Truly so bad it was comical. Go to any of the local independent joints in every shopping center to get a real home cooked affordable breakfast. Support local economy and get a meal you will enjoy. Denny's sucks! read more

Slow service. Typical Dennys food. But double charged me because of a mistake that the cashier made...mistakes happen. The manager assured me a I would get a credit on my CC. Still have not received two weeks later and now he is not responding to my emails. Had to dispute the charge with my CC company which is a PITA. I will never visit this place again. read more

I am visiting family in Englewood and this particular, local Denny's is a place they eat at fairly regularly. I have had half way decent service the few times I have gone while visiting. New Years Eve (2013). We met some friends for a simple get together before we all went our separate ways for the night. First off the place barely ( I stress barely) had any customers. The waitress took our orders easy enough but it went down hill from there. The straws that were handed to me were covered in spilled coffee that happened while she was bringing out our drinks. She told us that it happened while she was bringing out our drinks on the tray but gave soaking wet with coffee wrapped straws to us anyways. She proceeded to take our orders and we waited. We waited what I felt was way longer then it should have. The food was delivered only for a few people in our group at a time. The waitress told us that the cook was working on each order and that he was overwhelmed or behind- something to that effect. There was a handful of customers besides our party of six adults and two children. How was the cook overwhelmed? My sons macaroni and cheese was cold and he was missing his french fries but at least he had food. My parents had still not been served and the rest of us were done or very close to being so with our food. We asked at least twice for my sons french fries before he got them. My poor parents had to start there meal while the rest of us were done. My parents were actually about to cancel there orders previously due to the long wait but did finally get their food. My husband (on the way to use the men's room) happened to glance out of a window and see our waitress out side with a group of her friends smoking. In the mean time the two other waiters on duty were trying to figure out which tables that the smoking waitresses orders were supposed to go to. Meanwhile my husband, children and I wandered around the Ford dealership next door while my parents finished their meals. ( I felt bad about going outside while they ate but my children were becoming restless) we walked around the dealership and stayed out side for at least twenty minutes. We also noticed that our waitress was still outside smoking and hanging out with her friends while she was supposed to be working. I would estimate her "break" to be close to a half hour long. What a nightmare! Never again. Rating with one star is one star to many. read more

Ive eaten in Dennys in at least a dozen states. Its usually decent. This one in Englewood is the worst one ive ever eaten in. The staff were about as stupid as possible, im surprised they find their way to work. I suggest avoiding this place like the plague. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, a crowd of approximately 20 people were waiting. This was strange because at least 10 tables were open and an additional 4-5 we're open but not cleared. The hostess related that they didn't have enough servers and she had no idea how long the wait would be. We then went to use the restroom and they were disgustingly filfthy. Went there on Easter Sunday, because every place you needed reservations. I had country fried sreak, HORRIBLE! My friend had the fried chicken. It would have been better if we would have eaten shoe leather. THE service was SO poor, I WANTED to TIP the waitress 1 cent, because she wasn't worth TWO cents! read more

This location is in a death spiral...and from the others reviews, it seems to have been going on for a few years. On a weekend night, you drive on McCall from Gasparila to Placida and restaurant parking lots are full--except for this Denny's. That should tell you what you need to know. Not enough staff and they all SUCK! Don't expect a refill on your beverage...ever. Soup and salad will come out with, or shortly prior to, you meal so you food will get cold. Need something like mustard or napkins...forget about it, you will be ignored. The other Denny's is not much better. You just can't get good help in Florida. Outside light is broken, seats are broken, and bitchy staff. Save the hassle and close this place. read more

My wife had the bourbon chicken and I had the grilled tilapia. Both were cooked excellently! They obviously have a chef that knows what he/she is doing! Would come back again and recommend to anyone. Traveler from Indiana. read more

Waited almost 1 1/2 hours for our breakfast with only two people in our party. Yes...it was busy, but people who had arrived after we ordered were being served their food before us. A party of 12 who arrived after us got their food! The waitress thought she was bringing our food out, but it turned out to be for the table next to us, who had been there half the time we were. That's when we got up to leave. No apologies! No offer to pay for drinks! Nothing.....just a lot of lame excuses from the Manager, who I called later in the day. He said he they were just about to make our meal. Really??? After everyone around me has eaten and left? I am very understanding on how restaurants work; sometimes everyone comes in at once. I owned a restaurant, so, I get it. But, if there is a problem you take care of it, you don't make up a bunch of excuses that make no sense. We are locals and would have breakfast there 1-2 times a week before this. Not any more!! Goodbye Denny's!! And CF. was right... it does smell moldy in there....it has for years! read more

I almost always enjoy eating at our local Denny's but today it was a confrontational disaster with our server. Perhaps she was having a rough day since I counted about 54 customers and 9 servers which averaged about 6 people per server. Anyway, I ordered 2 eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes; my wife basically the same. I asked, as I always do, that the pancake order be placed after I finished with my eggs and meat. She said, "oh no we can't do that on a busy Sunday", blah, blah. So she delivered it all at once and none of it was warm. The pancakes weren't warm enough to melt the already soft butter they serve. My wife's was the same. When she finally did come back and ask how everything was, I said my pancakes were cold as expected and she tried to read me her busy Sunday riot act. I have always asked and been accorded the courtesy of getting hot pancakes there before, but not today; she'd have none of that. She stormed off and I could see her blah blahing the manager, who was rolling the silverware, so I did not bother to complain. I just tipped 10 percent and left. I like Denny's ok, but I'll just make sure I don't get that battle axe as a server again, or perhaps I'll just buzz up to Venice if I'm that desperate for a Denny's fix. Hat a terrible experience. Waited an hour for food. Then got it and had a hair in my hash browns. Ordered a biscuit never got it. Just ridiculous absolutely ridiculous. Glad I'm not from around here this place is in slow motion and it sucks. Never again. read more

So they probably should completely redo the entire inside of this restaurant, it feels sticky and damp! The food is good not great, but the last time I visited the servers were having and AC war and guess where the control was located, right over my head, there were 3 servers trying to turn it down turn it up turn it back down and each of them making a comment about the other when fixing the AC how they wanted it!! its was so annoying, IF we visit again we will not be seated there! It was alittle ridiculous, even after expressing my uncomfortable meal the manager didn't say a thing, just something like " Oh, I know"....no discount? really? It was awful, not that you should always get something for nothing but they whole time we were there we unable to enjoy breakfast or even have a conversation because of all the interruption. read more

I went there three times for breakfast, The food was bad and it looked nothing like the photos on the menu. I told the waiter to make sure that it looked like the photo on the menu. It came out and it was half of what it should have been and she just thought it was so funny. Called Dennys and to no surprise no one has called me back . Nobody is ever in there. they just remodeled and it looks fantastic,our service was very good ,they were very quick getting our beverages, the restaurant was quite busy, but our four dinners came out under 20 minutes,the food was quite good and the girl who waited on us was quite attentive with refills on our coffee & tea.,no real complaints about the service or food and the new decor was very nice...the johnson family......... read more
