Horrible dining experience. There was only one waitress, serving 10-15 tables at a time. We waited 50 minutes for our food. When the food arrived, it was poor quality. The pancakes and sausage were rubbery. The banana slices I had ordered for my son were covered in brown spots. And all of the food was room temp. They mixed up my eggs with my sister's eggs and we had to push stuff around on our plates and switch them ourselves. We received an apology for the wait but weren't offered coupons, a discount, or complimentary dessert or ANYTHING to make amends for the ridiculous wait. We then waited 15 minutes for our check. I felt so bad for the other customers coming in behind us. None of the Denny's staff even warned them that they were short handed and that the wait would be long. I've noticed that Denny's had been slipping in terms of service and food quality, and tonight was their last chance. I will NOT return to this restaurant. I'll go down the road to Petro instead. read more

Very Ridiculous!!! When u call for a To-Go order. Pay for your meals! Just to get back in your semi truck to find you have basicly a child's portion meal! No silverware, No napkins, No straws!!! I have eaten here a number of times over the years on the way from STL to Jeff City for breakfast. In the last few trips I have found the place to be progressively slipping in terms of the quality of the food and the how clean in general the place is kept., its like they have given up. Most recently my breakfast was cold as well as the other 4 member of my party and one person had a nasty hair in her eggs. The waitress was quick to get another plate, but really it was gross and the eggs should have been comped as a token of their concern. The place was pretty empty as it was 10:00am so it was not like the staff was rushed. The wait staff is still pretty cheerful and there when you need them but the rest of the place, well, in the future I'll seal out other places for my eggs and pancakes. read more

Not the worst food ever, but it did come very slowly. I've been here 2 times and the first wasn't so bad. The second I would have to say probably won't come here again. My server wasn't bad, but she forgot somethings and she left our good sitting. Also the first dish we got was cold. My family came thru there this morning. We had a very bad week and just wanted to relax and eat. Our server came over took our order and was very nice and understanding. Threw out our meal Sam ( our server) made sure we had everything we needed and went way and Beyond what a sever gets paid to do. Angel was trying to refill my water and missed and poured water all over my phone and myself. Instead of apologising, which she never did, she blamed me and said it was my fault for moving the cup. After that my food was brought out last and she had the audacity to say that I was grumpy because I was hungry (and not because she had dumped water all over me.) My wife, Jessica and I love Denny's. Previously, we had the waitress who knows American Sign Language (yes, we are Deaf) and she is the best. However, she left and got a new job, so we decided to take out instead. For the sixth time, we ordered via Denny's online and they didn't pack correctly. They always forget some food, such as toasts, tortillas, breakfast syrup, and onion rings. I tend to go back in the restaurant and ask them to follow up on my orders (the workers are cooperative). I wish they would pack carefully, so I would not need to go back in the restaurant. read more

This place needs to do some retraining. Asked for over medium eggs and got hard. Excessive cold greasy butter on one soggy piece of toast and nothing on the other hard piece. Visually dirty glass. Dirty booth seats. Avoid and save yourself the disappointment. read more

We stopped here on the way across the state for breakfast. Dining room only had a few people in it. Several servers available. We were seating right away and our drinks came out quickly. Then a different server came to take our order. Our salad came out with only lettuce even though the picture shows tomatoes, onions croutons and cucumbers. Evidently they didn't have any on the front line so they had to go get them. Our main dishes came out moderately warm. My "moons over my hammy" came out with 1 piece of ham so I sent the whole plate back. It came back to me with the EXACT same fries and sandwich with just more ham on it. Fries were then cold and the bread hard. Very sad that you can't even get what you order and then it comes out cold. DON'T go here! read more

Denny's smelled, was dirty, took a while to be seated and after a while, left without ever being waited on. Could hear the cooks complaining in the back, waitress was cashier and while I can't actually comment on quality I was going to follow my gut reaction and skip the experience. read more

First of all, They seated us in a booth with a huge rip in the seat. We placed our order, then about 15 minutes later they tell us they are running about 30 minutes behind on their orders. It took an hour to get our food. We heard our waitress arguing with the hostess who was in the kitchen cooking also. When we went to leave, we see a couple of cooks outside behind the restaurant smoking. Maybe if they were working and not smoking things would not be that slow. The food was what I expected it to taste like and it was hot at least. I realize Denny's is not a fancy restaurant but that visit was ridiculous and our last visit to Kingdom City Denny's. read more

Denny's...what can I say, you get what you. I usually get breakfast at Denny's. The only problem with this visit was there was a Christmas party going on so some of the waiters were lagging it. Visited on Sunday (5/12) afternoon on our way to Columbia MO and the place was hopping, the kitchen staff and wait staff were hitting on all cylinders. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in the door, we were seated quickly and our waitress greeted us as soon as the hostess walked away. Our waitress was super friendly and was quick to refill our beverages. After we received our food, which came quickly even though they were busy, the waitress came to refill our drinks and since we both ordered iced tea, the tea was not brewed correctly so they offered us a replacement beverage which we both took. The manager came to our table and told us that our drinks were on the house - complete shock, since we didn't ask for free drinks since the iced tea wasn't brewed correctly. Overall the quality of the food was great. To bad this place is 2 hours away from where I live or I would frequent this restaurant because the Denny's where I live is not very good. The service was top notch and the next time I am in this area I will definitely stop and eat here. read more

Traveling through and stopped for a quick bite wasn't expecting gourmet food, but this is, hands down, the worst Denny's food we have EVER eaten. The eggs and hash browns we're literally dripping and oozing grease. The bread on the grilled sandwich was saturated with greasy oily whatever it is they use on the grill. Nasty. Should have taken a picture but just didn't think of it in the moment. Management response was a 15% discount. Not particularly significant, if you ask me. Not likely to be back through the area anytime soon, so we aren't in danger of suffering this disgraceful cooking again, but others should be forewarned. read more

Eat here often mostly because its open late and one of the only places to sit down at those hours. Its really hit and miss but lately staff has been awful. I can always hear them complaining either how little of a tip their last customer left them or how they can't keep up with cleaning the tables because customers keep coming in. There are a few waiters that are awesome and we always want to be seated in their sections. Wish I could remember their names because I highly recommend them. So I generally like Denny's. Have eaten at many locations. Won't be back here. Husband and I stopped in for a "quick" lunch while on the road. We eat light while traveling so ordered an Avocado Chicken Caesar Salad to share thinking a salad would be done and out quick. Nope. Took half an hour to get our salad AND it came out without avocado which was the main appeal of that salad. Waitress mumbled something about avocado and left. Btw husband had an empty coffee cup for most of this wait and she came back when we were half done with our salad with more coffee - but no avocado. We were almost done with our salad when I flagged her down and asked about our avocado. She said she wasn't sure if they had any and even if they had gotten some on the truck sometimes they aren't ripe yet and are hard as a rock. She then checked with the kitchen and, after another five minutes, came out with a meager dish of chunks of avocado. We were already done with our salad and asked for the check. If you are out of an ingredient, you need to TELL your guest before they order the meal! We didn't make a fuss and therefore did not apparently rank a discount for this hot mess but we were both extremely disappointed in our experience. To top it all off, the women's restroom was in bad shape. Again, we won't be back, and recommend avoidance. Our "quick" lunch took an hour. Eating our food took ten minutes. read more

Dennys has become very slow lately. My family and I went to dennys late one night. The place wasn't that busy. A women sat us in the back coner buy the kitchen. Then we didn't even get asked what we wanted to drink for the first 15 minutes of us being there. Like I said they were not very busy. We didn't know who our waiter is. Finally this guy asked us for our drink order, then he rushed us to take our food order. He didn't give us straws or even ask if we needed refills. Then we went to pay we split the bill. He screwed up the orders on the tickets. To top it off when we asked for the tickets to be fixed the Manger got an attitude. If the tickets would have only been like a dollar or two apart we wouldn't have cared. But the tickets were like 15 dollar difference. read more

This establishment is very hit-and-miss. I've been there several times with vastly different experiences. My last two were the most so, with the first one being with a fantastic waitress, hot delicious food, and a nice atmosphere. However, two days later, i had a horrible waitress, cold food, and not a very good experience at all. From my experience, from 5pm - 10pm are the best times to go. Anytime other than that and you may be stuck with cold food. read more

Everything was dirty. The floor lobby needed to be mopped. Tooth picks on the floor. Piles of dirty dishes. What we could see of the kitchen floor was a mess. The carpet was stained. I wanted to leave immediately but we sat down for a minute. It was just too much. We left without eating. read more

4am in a restaurant, you would think the best time to catch up on much needed details right? Not so at this location. As a truck driver a Denny's sign is a welcome beacon much like the truck stop it's self. Sadly this stop was not so welcoming. All windows dirty, salt and pepper shakers empty or close and COLD coffee. With only one customer in the place you would think no problem in getting things right, right? Well, I ordered eggs over easy, came hard. Let them know the coffee was cold...they refilled it with the same. Red skin potatoes(my favorite) looked like a half order! The cook seemed preoccupied, the waitress and hostess were more interested in eating and smoking. When i mentioned the eggs to the waitress she said she gave me a discount. But, the discount was for the CDL...hello, should have been two discounts or not charged for the eggs! Will make a point of NOT stopping here again. Two items were missing from Husbands order. After getting us one missing thing she forgot we were waiting on 2nd thing. Only asked for drink refill once when we were finished. Had to catch her at register for bill because she forgot to bring it. There were maybe 4 other tables with customers and not real busy and hard to give them a break. We won't ever be back. read more

I am doing an injustice by giving this Denny's a one. They advertised WiFi since we were on the road this was important to my husband. Next dirty dishes everywhere which was discusting. Finally got drinks - wanted 45 minutes for our order. We couldn't eat the food. Some of it was cold, grits were totally stuck together, you couldn't begin to eat them. Bacon wasn't cooked - A terrible experience. We got to the cash register to pay our bill their computer wasn't working, no surprise. so we paid cash and was glad to leave. read more

We ate at the Denny's in kingdom city, mo this morning. We should have walked out as soon as we arrived. The cleanliness of the restaurant was disgusting. The floors looked like they had never been cleaned. The hostess didn't smile and acted like we were an inconvenience. Walking back to our table, the carpet was sticky. We waited a while for our waitress and she seemed I have other things to do although she only seemed to have only one or two more tables. She was not friendly. The coffee was disgusting and tasted burnt. The food was not much better and was not delivered to our table hot. It was warm to cold. The eggs, hashbrowns and bacon were not cooked thoroughly. I even had to ask for new bacon that was cooked. Before paying for our check, we each used the restrooms. The toilets were dirty and the floors were wet and really sticky. Once paying for our check, we were asked how our meal was and we said it was just okay. We were not thanked for our visit today and w ere not sent on our way with a "have a great day, come again!" We will not be back to this Denny's. Very disappointed. I am a waitress and I expect great service. I understand when things get really busy in a restaurant it may be hard to provide your customers with as much service as you would like to and what they deserve. It was not busy in the least bit. Maybe 10 tables total and there were about 5 waitresses. We expect a standard of service, consistency and quality from Denny's and we saw none of this on out visit. read more
