I was never a huge fan of Denny's in general but after they changed ownership a couple years ago it seems to have gotten even less personal and more commercial. Yeah, I get it. It's a business and businesses have to do what a s necessary to survive. But, less personal? Actually there was a really nice woman to help me. I went in a couple weeks ago and a super helpful woman helped me getting a case of wine. When she asked a co-worker ( youngish guy) to help carry it to the car, he said no. She was very gracious and said, 'that's ok. I'll do it myself.' This was a splendid response to an unbelievable jerk. So kudos to her and shame on him and if the owners read this they should fire that idiot and give her a raise. read more

This is quite the liquor store! It's huge and has a lot of the usual stuff that most stores have, and there's products that many don't! It's the holidays so there was three different sample stations set up. Prices are not the cheapest, but I'm pretty sure whatever you're looking for, you will find it in Denny's! read more

I have been going to Denny's since day1 the original start with Dennis B. I have been buying my beer, wine and liquors. After last night's visit I am done. My wife and I are in our mid 70's. My wife barely weights 100 pounds with issues and I in a sling with a broken arm. When we brought a 30 pack to the counter the women cashier was exceptionally nice. After paying we asked if the male cashier to help us take it to our car. He said there was a basket behind us. That was worse. He did end up taking it out and all but thru it in the trunk. I come here frequently because they sell the elusive clove cigarettes that I enjoy and they usually have a good price on the red wine my husband likes. The last few times I have been in I have been treated rudely by several different employees. Tonight, when I drove almost 40 minutes to get here (because they do not sell the cloves anywhere else) I arrived at 8:49 PM. The lights and music were in but the doors were locked. The sign on the door, their website, and all related online advertising indicate that they close at 9 PM. An older gentleman behind the counter looked at me several times, made eye contact and then continued to ignore me while he was closing up the store. I knocked a couple times and he looked up at me and continued to ignore me and another customer who was also outside with me also. We both waited about two minutes, called the guy an asshole, then left. read more

I used to live near Denny's Liquors in the mid 00's. Surprisingly, this store has a small footprint real estate wise, but carries a huge selection of wines and carries hard to find craft beers. Now, I don't live near the Woonsocket/Bellingham/Blackstone triangle of cross-border confusion, but when I do come up this way, I'm sure to stop by and peruse the aisles of fermented wheat/barley and grapes. read more

The old ladies who mainly staff this place are such sour, nasty people, and also blatantly racist. They actively look to make it hard for you to check out. First case in point: I was buying a couple bottles of champagne with a friend of mine who has been living in Peru for a couple of years and no longer has a valid US license. I was buying and had my RI ID, but the woman actually made my friend leave the store while I checked out despite seeing her DOB on her Peru ID (which is in numbers btw). We're both 30. She was suspicious and hostile and unnecessarily power tripping. Luckily this is an old friend, otherwise I would have been mortified. The lady treated us like children. Case in point #2: I was in a bit of a hurry, and the guy who I presume is the owner was talking to the (old white lady) cashier about stocking business. This is the same woman who gave me and my friend a hard time before. The woman could literally not multitask. She was talking to the guy for a while before she even looked at me (and then up and down in that shrewd can't-wait-to-power-trip kind of way she did before) and asked for my license. The guy asked her another question and she just stood there with my license, not even looking at it, clearly flustered because she was having to do two basic tasks at once. She finally got around to looking at my license, giving it back, and ringing up my items, then took my card for payment and got distracted AGAIN. She just stood there with my card obviously thinking very hard, not knowing how to proceed. I had been very patient up to that point because I get it, it's hard to do one thing while your boss is trying to talk to you about another. But as I said, I was in a hurry, and probably a solid 3 or 4 minutes had elapsed (which feels like a lifetime when all you're trying to do is buy two things and there's no line). So I told her, politely, that I was in a hurry. It was like she snapped back to reality, gave me a dirty look, and finally checked me out and I got out of there. Rolling my eyes all the way out because THIS LADY. Case in point #3: I was behind a black guy in line on the 4th. Guy was dressed like he was going to hang at the beach for the day and bought a big pack of Corona. Totally normal dude, normal circumstances, not sketchy. The (different) old white woman looked at him through narrowed eyes his whole time checking out, and studied his license for like a good 60 seconds before begrudgingly giving it back. Those narrowed eyes followed the poor guy all the way out the store. Then, when she finally saw me, a youngish white lady, she perked up, smiled, didn't even card me. I said "Why'd you card him and not me? He looks about the same age." She spluttered a little and was literally about to say "we card everyone" bc that's obviously their stock response. I just left without buying anything because I'm not going to patronize an establishment that has actively racist employees. That was it. The guy who I assume owns the place is nice if verging on creepy. Why he employs almost exclusively incompetent, bitter old ladies I do not know. Walking into the place is like walking straight into the 70s, which is kinda cool in its own way, but definitely dated. Maybe the ladies have been working there since then? There are limited options in the Woonsocket area, but this is out for good. read more

This liquor store has to be the FRIENDLIEST place! I went in for a special bottle of red wine to give as a gift and asked the advice of Scott, (I later discovered he is one of the owners). He was SO helpful and knowledgeable. They have a huge selection of wine in every vareity and price range. I purchased two bottles (one for me and one as the gift) :) of Klinker Brick Old Vine Red Zinfandel (not to be confused with white zin). He promised me I would not be disappointed, and I wasn't! It was the BEST Red Zin EVER! My friend was also impressed! Thanks Scott~! You made me look good : ) I will make Denn'ys my new Liqour store of choice !! read more

Denny's didn't blow me away with their craft beer selection but it solid. They have plenty of beer but it's mostly cold 6 packs. You'll find Stone, Boulevard, 21st Amendment, Gritty's & Jack's Abbey. Nothing too crazy but definitely solid. I was alarmed about their lack of bombers. And the staff was friendly. I just wish they had a lot more variety but I can't complain much since I'm no too familiar with the area. read more

The previous owner had a neat, clean and organized store. With the new ownership, the beer sections are random and messy. There are very few prices displayed and none in the walk-in cooler. In most cases, you can't determine 6-pack, 12-pack or case pricing with standing in line and asking. The craft brews look like remnants after a college party; again with hit or miss pricing. I asked the manager for pricing and when I got to the checkout, I was over charged. The cashier just looked the other way when I said I already got pricing and didn't offer to investigate the error. Staff was awful. I was denied with a valid Connecticut drivers license and multiple cards to prove my identification. She said oh we are having some problems with Connecticut licenses. So why should all of those with a valid license be persecuted and punished for it. So I said oh have got to be kidding me. She said, I don't think you look old enough. So again it is my fault that you can't validate licenses properly with a machine to scan it or ultraviolet light to check the back of the card. This is absolutely unacceptable and will never be making a purchase from these even though I have in the past. Not to mention the selection was not good to start out with for whiskey, craft beer, or domestic wine. It is dirty and outdated as well as extremely unfriendly I will be taking my business else where and encourage others to do the same as I have many friends in the Bellingham area. read more

Every time I have ever stopped in here everyone who works there has been super nice/friendly and always so helpful. It's a decent sized place, lots of selections of whatever it is you like. And every time I've run in there I've always noticed a sample table. read more

this family-owned place has been our go-to when in the area. they've a pretty extensive beer selection, albeit a wee bit heavy on the domestic brands. wine selection is also quite good, particularly in comparison to other popular spots in the area. there are no real bargains here, tho, as prices are consistently a few dollars or more above average. read more

To be fair, they do have a big selection, but that's about it. They close pretty early for a liquor store and they are expensive - the thing that really surprised me was they don't sell cigarettes or any tobacco products, which in my 50 plus years I've never come across - no lottery either. They are supposed to close at 9 o'clock on a Saturday night. I went there at 8:45 because I was having a dinner party and ran out of wine. They had already closed. Women walking around inside packing up their personal belongings and refused to come to the door. I understand how it may look coming to the door of the liquor store at night but their hours state 9 o'clock. read more

The people here can be extremely unfriendly especially on Sundays. You ask for a sleeve of fire ball they roll their eyes in disgust and act like you ruined their day asking for something. They close before 5 all the time on Sundays even though their hours say open until 5. And there is one lady on Sunday is just rude and very unpleasant with a terrible attitude. read more
