I happened to stop by The Fudge Lady's booth at the Philly Renaissance Faire last weekend. I love fudge, and rarely will turn it down. I've had freshly made on the boardwalk fudge, Boscov's fudge, mall store fudge, homemade, etc. you get the idea, right? This fudge is special. Creamy soft, sweet but not cloyingly so, and perfectly balanced flavors. One bite of orange creamsicle transported me to not summer days, buying one of these from an ice cream truck. So good, with a hint of orange tanginess. The Rocky Road fudge had the right music nuts & marshmallows. They were both exceptional - and this is fudge transported from Massachusetts! It was a delight, and I will definitely be looking for the Fudge Lady at future area fairs.

I stopped eating it once I realized. The chicken and wrap itself were fine, but the lettuce quality was disappointing and not something that should be served. This seems like a food prep/quality control issue rather than a one-off. French fries were nice and crispy! For $17 on DD, I am so disappointed. I am willing to give this place another chance, but this also makes me question the quality of other ingredients. I hope management pays closer attention to produce freshness going forward, because this could have been avoided.

Another diamond in the rough.. Today's adventure brought us to Hi-On-A-Hill Herb Farm & Gardens…read more As we pulled in we were greeted by owner and master gardener, Ruth Pacheco. She is a delightful and knowledgable woman. We looked at the herbs she had for sale and she invited us to peruse through her gardens. We were excited to do so (always having my camera in tow) we ventured eagerly inside where she guided us through her different themed gardens. Her gardens are a feast for the senses! From soft lamb's ears to vibrantly colored flora. Cute cuddly (yet antisocial) bunnies, to fresh thyme and a variety of mints. Each area we entered she took the time to explain her plants and how they grow, a little history about them and let us take in the scents. Ruth even explained how in ancient times Lamb's Ears were used as bandaids to wrap wounds because they were soft and pliable. While looking at her wonderful grounds we sighted cardinals, butterflies, honey bees, and even a humming bird! She even showed us some incredible scented geraniums! I've never head of this before but they were deliciously scented, with smells like apple, lemon, pachouli, nut, etc... We ended our visit by purchasing some wonderfully smelling Hot & Spicy Basil. Very nice store so clean with a little of everything including gift items and gift baskets which is pretty cool. The prices were very reasonable and most importantly they had the Patron citronge that I couldn't find anywhere. The guy working was really cool and friendly.. really easy going and funny. Ample parking outside in a nice convenient strip plaza. Definitely a new go-to liquor store for me.
