Wow!! What an amazing Dennys!! I just gotta say this is the best Dennys I've ever been too!! Good job to the staff and management.

The food took a while to come out but there were 3 other tables that came in right before us and there was only one cook and one waitress. The food was worth the wait! And the new cheesecake pancakes were delicious! They looked gorgeous! I watched as our waitress Cassandra was carefully placing the toppings on it to make it look picture perfect! She is amazing! She was a 1 woman show! No dishwasher, no host, no one else was there to help her with drinks or roll silverware or restock, answer the phone. Just her. She ran from one side of the restaurant to the other to attend to every table. 1 table was very needy and would ask for one thing and she'd come back and ask for something else like 4 times. Even though she had asked if there was anything else she could get at the time they would say no but then ask for something when she got back to the table. She kept her positive attitude and she makes sure her guests are happy and content. Our child has autism and she was very patient and kind with him and got him to love bananas that evening! Epic Service! I came here by myself and had the grand slam. My food was hot and quick! I sat at the bar and the entire team was so enthusiastic and worked well together. The counters were clean and there weren't any leftover dishes lying around. The price point is always good. I loved my experience here! A few hours ago I decided to go to Denny when I walked in I was help by a well matter kid by the name of Jacob... As I was trying to enjoy my meal I noticed that Jacob was running from table to table helping out other guests.. Then I started to notice that the other waiter was being very unprofessional telling young Jacob do this do that while he was attending other guess while she just stood there doing nothing but complain like a little kid...words like 100% kept coming out her mouth not knowing what she talking about ...every time Jacob got next to her..I continued to observe some more and now the female waitress was stomping around the restaurant slamming dishes talking to herself ...while constantly telling Jacob 100% By now I'm starting to get annoyed so I called Jacob for a refill on my coffee he went to get it and she tell him go get me a slice of cheesecake so he goes and brings it to her and put it on the counter. If I could rate less I would, I want and the lady was super rude.We ordered to go and the pancakes were so small(smaller than my palm when it was suppose to be my entree. I visited this location for the first time this weekend and the food was delicious! The service however really was what made my morning! I don't know what's going on, but Denny's is now such a bad experience they need a total re haul. It's hit and miss. This was again a miss. . The one in Los Banos is so poorly run it begs a comment. We were returning from Cancer treatment at UCSF and found a cold understaffed place where we had to wait a long time for our food. I had to ask for a coke refill because it seems they don't like giving you one unless you ask. One particular manager is very tight. When she topped it off for the long drive home it was only half filled. She claimed the dispenser was broke.The worst thing is I had a 10.00 off 30.00 or more purchase but was denied it because the manager said it was expired. She said it was expired " yesterday" which was Dec 11, but we visited on Dec 12, and I had an email from Denny's at 9:30 AM on 12/12 saying I had 10.00 till 12/22. So she was either cheap or didn't read it right. They are just very very tight there and do not want to give you refills unless you ask for one and do not want to honor your discount. Needless to say, my lady and I are finished going there, and I will be protesting my 30.19 bill. Many Denny's are freezing now. They also seem to be uncomfortable with white people in some of them. They cater to one group. PS- I don't need a call from the owner saying " sorry we will do better." because unless you give them a great rating all you do is get " we will do better" As an additional comment, as you can see underneath the response was the usual bullshit. They never compensate. All they do is tell you " we will do better." They do respond positively when complimented. No wonder they have such a low rating in CA. Some advice. Learn Spanish. We had the most wonderful service early this morning! Marvin greeted us warmly with such a happy demeanor and kept the coffee coming on a freezing morning. We ordered from both the value menu and the regular menu and we loved the fluffy pancakes and French toast. My son got the breakfast sandwich on the value menu and would definitely order that again and really worth the price! Came in and left after waiting over 40 minutes for our meal to be served. I did have two cups of coffee in that period of time (which was difficult to get...had to ask for my refill and then wait for that!). There were so many employees cleaning tables, talking in the back, doing lots of other things. For some reason our server, Cassie, seemed to be unable to wait on us, despite being able to wait on other people who came in after us as well as serve them their meals. Maybe it had something to do with the cooks back there and not her but usually if your table is being ignored, a good server will approach the cook just to make sure the ticket did not get misplaced or lost. Whatever the reason, we got up and left and went to pay for our coffee at the front. The hostess saw us approaching the cash register and apologized and said don't worry about the coffee, it's on us. So even the other employees noticed that we weren't getting served. I'm sad to say Los Banos Denny's has become like this. Maybe it's time to try IHOP again. We were on a family trip to Lake Tahoe from Southern California (500+ miles) and were starving. We didn't know where to stop. Thanks to my navigation system, Denny's in Los Banos was the first known restaurant to come up. Never been to Los Banos. Didn't even know there was a city called Los Banos. We were not sure what to expect but as soon as we walked in, the hostess could not have been more welcoming. We then had the sweetest, warmest and and most professional server by the name of Katrina. Every server could learn from her how to treat customers. First of all, she welcomed us with a big joyful smile and introduced herself. I also thought it was so thoughtful that when I ordered my meal, she asked me if I wanted it exactly the way it was in the picture. So sweet! Thank you Katrina!!! The food was delicious. I'm a health nut and ordered the Veggie Omelette. Didn't think Denny's could pull it off but it was so good I can't wait to order it again. Most delicious tomatoes I've ever had. My wife loved her "Cali Club" & my 16 years old son inhaled his Grand Slam. The food & Katrina's pleasant personality gave us the strength for the second half of our long drive to Tahoe. Next time we travel to Northern California, we will make a special trip to this Denny's and definitely will ask for Katrina. You should too. What a wonderful experience! read more

I will try and keep this brief because i have a lot to say. I will say that Dennys is a good resturant for many reasons but it wasnt my first choice to eat at. Since my daughter had a special request, we took her to Dennys. We were greeted by a very pleasant server named Jacquelyn and she seated us. She then promptly let us know that due to unforseen circumstances, they were out of many items. Let me say that I was so happy she led with that because she saved us a bunch of time. Customer service goes a long way and as a multiple business owner, I hold that at the highest regard. I have left many nice establishments behind lack of it! Moving along, Jacquelyn was a peach, she answered all of our questions, brought our food out and made sure that we felt taken care of and comfortable at all times. My 8 year old went as far as to say that she felt so well taken care of that she was the best server she had ever had! I can go on and on about her but long story short, Dennys has now become my go to eating place in Los Banos! I would be remiss if I left out the chefs though. There was the usual chef and a new one. They took slightly longer to bring the food out but again we got an explanation and frankly it wasnt that bad of a wait. The food was so good though! The original chef has always been great and I appreciate him taking time to train the new chef! It takes a team! They both are amazing in our books! The left overs were so tastey! A couple years ago, this white lady was racist to us because we were asian. She didn't want to serve Asians. She treated us like trash. This place is horrible, kicked almost all Asians out or refused to serve us. I don't know if she got fired. Please all Asian families! Don't go here. When a Mexican and American person came, she treated them nicely. Very racist and unfair. This is what my father and other friends and families had told me the experience there as an Asian. I stopped in last evening and had a great overall experience. Starting with my server, Angela who was attentive and very helpful with suggestions, everything was top-notch. I had the senior salmon dinner; with mixed vegetables, wild rice & garlic toast. It was the best salmon meal I've ever had. There are only ever two people serving/hosting/running food. The young man that helped us was very kind, but whoever was cooking doesn't know the menu and or was asleep cooking the food. My order first came out with raw hashbrowns with a bunch of black crap on them. When I asked for new ones that were cooked my omelette looked touched and had three different cheeses in it. There was white cheese, a kraft singles slice(?) and then like three shreds of cheddar that is normally inside of it on the top. There was also barely any bacon. The pancakes I ordered didn't even come out until after the new set of hashbrowns came out and whoever the woman "manager" was done playing with my sent back food. I literally watched them sit there and investigate the meal I sent back. She didn't even offer to come over. My bf got a salad that was just browning iceberg lettuce and a little chicken and no egg on his egg-cellent Cobb salad. They never asked us if we wanted refills but they sure as heck had no problem charging us $4 an iced tea and 14 for the mediocre salad. We've been here a few times and had good service and good food(literally the exact same thing was ordered which is how I know it wasn't right) even with the only two people on the floor, but today that was not the case. Ok so my question is.... Is Dennys a restaurant or a daycare? I ask because i was there on Wednesday Oct.9.2024 Employees had their kids running all over the restaurant crying being loud. I understand is a family restaurant but as an employee you have to have respect towards us guests. For my understanding it was the managers kids. I say this because one server made the comment and even added that the kids had been there all morning, That even the baby had slept there. She also added that she was going to offer the manager to go home with her kids because it was to much. The server was even serving coffee caring the baby. Imagine if she burned that poor child. There is a boundary between work and personal life, at this stage that boundary was beyond past. Sometimes we just want to go in enjoy a quiet peaceful place with a exquisite hot cup of coffee but we come to kids running all over. I don't understand if the Store Manager/Owner allows this but to be honest this is the first time I experience a situation like this. Hopefully I don't encounter this again.
