Well I wanted breakfast today, so I went to IHOP first. They had a huge line and short staffed. I waited for 20 minutes before I gave up. I'm just visiting so I'm Ubering! Called them to take me to Dennys at this location. I was so happy to get here! The place wasn't crowded and I was able to seat myself quickly. My host was extremely polite and took my order right away. I had the French toast Slam and it was delicious, with a glass of cold orange juice. Less than 15 minutes later my food arrived hot! Had my eyes gleaming, because the scrambled eggs with cheese were fluffy, bacon crisp and the French toast was buttery. Ok I'm done, but know this breakfast made my day! A bit hesitant to stop with all the poor reviews. It took a minute to get seated but you could see the waiter and manager were both busy waiting on folks. Got seated and the drink was delivered quickly. The place is dated but was very clean. The Cali skillet was awesome! My food was served hot and had great taste. While coming in for a group late night dinner, our server A'Mya was very attentive. She attended to all of our needs as a group of 6. The food was decent. The pancakes were a little over cooked. Aside from the overcooked pancakes, there was an issue with the card reader. The card reader had a malfunction causing my group to be in the restaurant for an extra 30 minutes after finishing our meals. The server attempted resetting the machine twice. The server then called multiple managers via her cellphone. She made between 5 and 8 calls to different people for assistance and received no answer from anyone. When I asked about the manager on site, the server informed me that there were NO MANAGERS in the building and that they are not supposed to leave them alone. Due to there not being any proper management available to assist and a malfunctioning machine, we continued to wait inside the building. There was another associate who would not give us her name and she appeared to be Caucasian. This associate told us "after this issue, y'all better leave a tip." She was completed disrespectful to us as we respectfully waited for our server A'Mya to finish fixing the card reader. She then asked us if we could cash app her or apply pay her even though we informed her that we were paying with a credit card. The Caucasian lady who appeared to be a cook, told us that if we were to leave, she would be calling the police. Due to her statements it seemed as if we were being racially profiled due to being a mixed group of young African Americans and Hispanics. After about 30-40 minutes, A'Mya was able to fix the card reader by swapping them out with another register. Overall, there were not many issues regarding the food, however as far as the customer service skills, this restaurant has A LOT of improvement to do. Denny's in Red Oak - Disappointing Dinner Experience  We chose Denny's in Red Oak for dinner this evening. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.  We were one of only 3 table dining at that time. Service:  Our server, Tania, was nice and greeted us as we walked in and seated us quickly.  Food/Drinks: For drinks we had water and coffee.  The coffee was lukewarm, but after telling Tania, she brought out hot coffee.    I ordered the bourbon chicken skillet and garlic bread.  The garlic bread was good. However, the bourbon chicken skillet had no flavor and rubbery, including the chicken.  It all tasted like frozen unseasoned food.  I took 2 bites and left the rest and was not refunded.  We had an order of waffles that were so overcooked that they could not be eaten and were sent back and refunded, not reordered.  The scrambled eggs and bacon were good.  Unfortunately, I only received an "I'm sorry" from the manager for the bourbon chicken skillet.   Overall: This visit to Denny's in Red Oak was disappointing.  The combination of substandard food and lack of customer service/satisfaction, specifically from the manager, made for an unpleasant dining experience. I hope upper management addresses these issues promptly to improve the experience for future customers. read more

Although there was a bit of a rocky start, I had a pretty "grand" dining experience. Our server, Katia, was extremely kind and was also attentive. We ordered a Grand Slam and Cinnamon Poll pancakes to eat, and my-oh-my those cinnamon roll pancakes were decadent!! They came out so warm honestly blew me away! Our hash browns, bacon, and sausage came out first and they were so delicious and comforting. The entire restaurant team put a lot of effort into making sure everyone was seated and fed. Was given no more than an appropriate amount of time to look at the menu to find something new to eat. Horrible service me and my children waited at the door for atleast 15 min to be sat. There was a man waiting on a to go order and the manager told him she didn't know when it would be ready. Once we finally got sat I was served Luke warm coffee. I asked for water for all us I never received any. Hot chocolate had large chunks in it. Water, coffee; and hot chocolate all went bone dry no offer for refill. Daughter ordered a shake, never saw a shake. We sat there for one hour amd 20 min without any communication from anyone and never received any food. I was going to wait for someone to approach our table so I could atleast pay for drinks and no one showed back up. The table behind us had gotten there after us and had already received their food and finished eating and is still nothing. We got up and walked out. Not my style but it's pretty disrespectful to be ignored or forgotten. I'm come from higher up in the service industry and I understand we sometimes come up short handed. Visited Dennys this morning with the family. We had the absolute best service. From the sweet host sitting us , to our waitress Tara , and on to the manager at check out. First , let me say our food was delicious. The cooks did a great job. Everything was hot, tasted delicious and portions were good. Next, our waitress Tara. Bravo!! you did a FANTASTIC job. We were a party of 6 and you handled us ( which isn't easy ) and all your other tables with perfection. We also noticed your teamwork in helping the young bus boy as well as others servers / tables. The Regional Manager at Denny's in Red Oak probably thinks that we forgot about what we saw on Christmas day when we went to eat at Denny's but we didn't forget.  Life got a little hectic but I wanted to be sure to leave this review every single place possible because what we witnessed on Christmas was atrocious and unacceptable!   There were 5 of us who decided to have Christmas dinner at Denny's.  We chose Denny's because one of my sisters had been in the hospital ICU for 12 days and wanted to eat somewhere close.    When we pulled up, the handicapped parking space was taken by a big box truck with no sticker and no place card.  My sister has a handicapped place card and wasn't able to walk very far so the first thing I did when we walked in was ask for the manager to see if he would find out who parked their box truck in the handicapped spot because my sister needed it.  The manager came to the front and pretty much said there was nothing he could do.  He didn't care in the slightest. I decided to let that go and we were sat at a table where we waited for over 30 minutes for our drink orders to be taken (mind you, it was not that busy when we were there at 3pm).  We finally got our drinks but while sitting there waiting for someone to take our order (45 minutes after we had gotten there), all of the sudden my son's fiancée's jaw fell open and she let out a gasp! We all looked over at her and she said that she witnessed the manager (THE MANAGER) open a bagged salad with his teeth and proceed to dump it in some container.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? We were FURIOUS!  I mean, not only is that a health code violation and not only is it absolutely disgusting but we are in the middle of the COVID Pandemic and the MANAGER is opening bagged salad with his teeth!!!!!  This was all we needed to see.  I saw several other men walking around the kitchen who looked like they were some type of manager so I motioned one of them over to our table and asked him for the number to the corporate office.  He asked me why I needed it and what was wrong.  I told him that I did not want to discuss it with him but wanted the number for corporate and wanted his store number.  He told me that he was the Regional Manager so corporate would just end up calling him to handle any issues and he would not give me the number unless I told him why I wanted it, so, I told him what was witnessed.  He said he was sorry that happened and he said he would take care of it and walked away.  I was not happy with his nonchalant attitude and told him that I would find the number to corporate myself and of course we immediately left and went somewhere else to eat for our own safety. It took all that I had not to stand up in the middle of the restaurant and tell everyone what we just saw. This is a health risk to the public!!!!  To have people, especially the MANAGER, opening bagged salad with their freaking teeth!!!   Never will I ever eat at the Denny's in Red Oak again, and I intend to let the health department know about what was witnessed as well. Denny's in Red Oak is a no go for me and my family going forward.  Considering what the manager did, I would be deathly afraid of catching COVID or some other disease, and people need to be made aware of what happened and the nonchalant attitude the Regional Manager displayed for their own safety. read more

We used to come here before COVID-19 and never had an issue. We ordered curbside pickup today and ordered a "pick 3 shareable appetizer" (tenders, fries, and chips and queso) and two entrees. We were allowed to pick 3 different sauces for the tenders. We were given a total of TWO Tenders. At the very least we got to sample their sauces. The manager I presume, was in the most censored way, an absolute prick. We had someone come in 30 minutes in advance to save us seating for 20. Upon arrival, no seating had been arranged and the manger ignored to even acknowledge us. I stood at the podium only to have him stare me down and talk in a demeaning manner. "It's going to be 20 minutes...or more," as he stared me down. He was disrespectful to me in my youth and our oldest party member (a mentor for the group) only to spit back, "fine," as we threatened to leave after being ignored for an additional 10 minutes.
