If you have thin skin, move on, DON'T read this! To the previous folks who wrote bad reviews, sit down! It's clear to me those people haven't realized we are in a pandemic. And with that pandemic we have a few people still working vs reaping the unemployment benefits. I mentioned in another review that Red Oak, Texas has "Now Hiring" signs EVERYWHERE! Ding ding ding..... that should be your first sign! Stay focused, y'all act like this is the first time you have EVER experienced slow service, or no service. Call the cable company and stay on hold, only to get disconnected, cell company, mortgage company, the pharmacy! But y'all complain about the hand that feeds you during this unfortunate time. Write about those places, they are on Yelp as well to review....I do. Those who need to complain about the manager, roflmao! I have been here, morning, noon, and evenings on various days. Guess who is here! THE MANAGER! Imagine that, the Manager never sleeps, and maintains employees who are happy. He has built an incredible rapport with the few who are working. Love the uplifting attitude of the lady at the cash register, who will also seat you, if she can step away. She could be my kindred spirit! Now about the food, let me adjust my Duchess Crown! Can't complain. I forget to check in at times on Yelp. But from the club sandwich to the breakfast, it's fresh and brought out as ordered. I've had the hamburger, salads and no complaints. The servers are hustling and bustling, doing a job I can't keep up with. I appreciate ALL THE STAFF HERE, all 6 of y'all, jk, jk. I don't know how many, but it's not like it was 1 1/2 years ago, and I get it. Denny's has ample parking. Remember they are busy as they are also off the highway for all travelers to visit. So it's not just the locals in Red Oak, Texas. Get some rest Mr Vampire Manager! Don't let em beat you down, you GOT this! #Southside #EllisCounty

Their pancakes are no comparison to IHOP and IHOP's sausage is better as is the service and wait time for food.

Unfortunately this place isn't like it used to be. Service isn't great, food is cold and it's not always clean.

In town, wanting authentic, so here we are!…read more First off this place is off the beaten path and honestly I thought I was lost and there it was! You walk in a tiny hallway and bam traditional old school diner, we were seated right away! Everyone is so nice. Get the big giant menu but I already went to the "lighter side" section for healthy choice and ordered the poached eggs on English with a side of grits. We also ordered the basic omelette with the biscuit option. Served quick but enjoyed seeing some really delicious looking plates come out to other tables. My English mussin was literally perfect so thin too, poached eggs perfect, grits, OMG super yummy, omelette was perfect. Ok! Let's move on to the fresh made buttermilk biscuits and gravy. I must say for the record I hate gravy not even at thanksgiving but wanted to try this southern luxury. TO DIE FOR! And same with the biscuits, the very best I ever had and I ended up instead of tasting, I ate a whole biscuit! Yep I did and with the gravy! This is a must eat here place! If I could give 10 stars I would!

The food was flat‑out amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and the kind of "just good food" that hits your soul after a long night of singing your heart out. Our server? Easily one of the best I've had in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and somehow always there at the perfect moment without hovering. You can tell they take pride in making people feel welcome. The whole place has that classic, comforting Texas charm -- nothing fancy, just great people serving great food. After a high‑energy concert, it was the perfect reset. If you're in Arlington and want a spot that treats you right and feeds you even better, this is it. I'll definitely be back.

Always amazing service and food, plus you'll be happy to know they replaced all their booths within the last 6 months to a year, so seating is cozy as well. This is hands down the friendliest and most accommodating diner in the area. The employees seem genuinely happy to serve you in a friendly (but non-fake) atmosphere. If you haven't been, you must try it. Order whatever modifications you may like to any menu item, or just make a meal up in your head and I guarantee they will delight you with the result. My personal favorites are the chicken fried steak, with hash browns, 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 biscuits; as well as the double cheeseburger with fries. The delicious food, wonderful staff and personalities make this place a rarity in North Texas, especially Plano. Almost never a wait, but if so only a short one. They're open 7a - 2:30p but we've never felt rushed to finish lunch. I highly recommend giving Eddie's Diner a try!

I paid almost $5 for it -- the same amount of fresh squeezed at other places like Starwood or Pancake House. I would not get the orange juice again here. I got the Sundae Waffles and I overall enjoyed them. They're a sugar overload, but that's practically implied. My gripe was that the vanilla ice cream tasted odd and I actually pushed it aside. It didn't taste like vanilla at all. Bf got the Country Omelette and he enjoyed it. I had a taste and can vouch that the sausage gravy was very good and he got a very large amount for his buck. Overall, I think I would return, keeping in mind the quality of a few of the things we tried today.
