Pre-fab packets of tartar sauce and ketchup are minor demerits; but, the cocktail sauce is homemade with visible flecks of horseradish. Hidden gem - in the bottom of your container, under the fish and fries, are marinated pickle and carrot slices AND a whole jalapeno. There's a kick here that adds a bit of extra spice to your meal. Warning, the tartar sauce and ketchup may be under your meal container hiding from you as everything is packed "to go", even if you're dining there. Dig deep to make sure you find everything. BONUS - canned sodas only and they're ONLY $1.00 (as of today...your experience may be different) Service - counter service with a pager for when your order is ready. The wait can sometimes be lengthy if the kitchen is slammed with take-out, call-in, delivery service, etc. orders...you really don't know until you get there. Ambiance - you gotta' want it to get it. The location is on the dark side of the fringe of a freeway/bridge construction/reconstruction zone. Once you figure out how to get access, the parking is challenging as there's one in/out and 4 separate storefronts using it...and the construction zone is right there.... All said, be courteous and patient and you'll find a spot. Upside - if you find a parking spot, you'll find a place to sit if you want to dine in. The place is clean, quiet, and has lots of TV's (for the size of the place) to keep you occupied while you wait on the kitchen. The shrimp I thought would be fresh real shrimp but it was the frozen precooked the kind you get from the frozen food section at the store. This fish travels well in that it is so cooked to order that it remained hot all the way home a short 7-10 miles away. Service is everything! I have been to this new location twice since it opened and the service is as terrible the 2nd time as the 1st time. Today, the woman behind the counter did not address myself and my daughter at all. She walked left and right behind the counter doing whatever, then she grabbed one of the 7 backs and called the customer to pick up her bag. The customer's friend came to pick up her order as well. The customer was provided one meal but mentioned that she paid for two. They had to get that together. About 7 minutes later (still being completely ignored), she starts to do something else, then grabs another order and calls the customer's name (not there at the moment). Eventually, she came to us and took our order. Just rude and unprofessional. After placing our orders, we left and informed the cashier that we would return in 15-20 min. Once returning, there was a couple still considering what they want to order and my order is sitting on the counter behind the cashier (no other orders). She stood there, waiting for them to review the menu and ignored me until they figured out what they want and placed their order. Once home, the fish was decent, but the bag smelled like something had burned. The food was cooked in old grease and you could look at the fries to confirm. Terrible service. We ordered a six-piece catfish dinner, and they told us it was going to be an hour. We ended up saying fine and came back after an hour and waited another 30 minutes, and still, no food was ready. My wife asked a lady how much longer, and they said another 45 minutes. The person upfront, which I think is the owner if I'm not mistaken, started yelling and banging on the table, yelling, "Who wants their refund? Who wants their refund? If not, you're going to have to wait." Needless to say, my wife and five other people got their refund. I don't go to a restaurant to get yelled at, especially when I spent close to $70 on the bill.
