We had a late dinner last night at Dennys in Rowland Heighs location. We ordered 2 senior 55+ salmon dinners, 2 senior 55+ Omelet breakfast items, and zesty Nachoes dish. We showed the AARP membership at check out but were given $1.72 credit only instead 15% discount on the entire ticket. We didn't find out about the discount issue until we went home. We called the restaurant and the night shift manager said she could not control or change the discount credit and asked us to call and check with the general manager the next day. When we called and talked to the general manager the next morning, he said that 55+ food is excluded from the discount. But both the website page of AARP, regarding 15% discount in Denny's, and Dennys' ads DO NOT mention said 55+ food is excluded from the 15% discount. Denny's ads for AARP 15% discount stated that "Denny's 15% off dine-in and pickup orders Members save 15% on their checks every day--including diner classics and breakfast items. Maximum discount not to exceed $10." We feel that the ads is misleading and very disappointed by their handling towards the discount especially to the senior consumers. The discount amount is small but it will damage its reputation and business. read more

I went here on a weekday and dined in. The staff was nice and restaurant was clean. I ordered a burger and added avocado at the waiter's suggestion. When I received it and took a bite I realized it was made incorrectly. I told my waiter and he apologized and said that I can either have the extras added after the fact or have a new burger. I chose a new burger, he took my plate and they made it quickly. Once I got my burger the waiter checked on me to make sure everything was alright. After I paid I realized they did something to my order to have the burger remade and I was double charged for the avocado. The person I was with ordered a build your own slam with fruit added to the pancakes at the suggestion of the waiter. I was a little bothered that on the receipt each fruit added was a separate charge. If the waiter had said I could limit which fruit I added to what I wanted and it would've been a better price and I would've appreciated that. French fries were good, burger was very disappointing, toast was good, pancakes were alright. read more

Very disappointed with my visit. Im very understanding when the restaurant is busy, that it's going to take some time to have my order taken. The gentleman that sat next to me AFTER me was asked if he was ready to order. He was kind and said him first. I place my order as someone else took him. This experience was supposed to be redemption for a previous bad experience but instead they doubled down and made it worse the second time around. Our son is allergic to eggs, we told Cesar our waiter to substitute the eggs for fruit and told him our previous time at Denny's we ordered it that way and they still put egg on the plate he said don't worry I will make sure that doesn't happen. Instead he didn't place the order correctly and left for his shift! So apparently getting off of his shift is more important than him doing his job and making sure he doesn't give someone an allergic reaction to their food. When the plate came the bacon and sausage touched the runny eggs so we took it off to eat it since it was getting trashed anyways. Grace was taking over for Cesar and she was even worse, telling us about how we ate the sausage and bacon and how she wasn't going to replace it. I told her it was going to get thrown out that this wasn't our error it was theirs and she just said she would call the manager. Now we are speaking to Fernando the manager and he wasn't apologetic at all with no customer service skills what so ever. He just said I will bring out the bacon and sausage. Literally less than a minute later comes out the one bacon and sausage meaning it was there waiting to be served to us but instead of Grace just giving it to us she wanted to prove a point like it was coming from her own kitchen or pocket. I will not be coming back for the safety of our son. We all know it's hard times and when dining out it's not just about getting food it's an experience to not have to stress about cooking and cleaning and to just enjoy the meal with your family, we couldn't do that. We didn't enjoy our meal whatsoever, the entire experience was ruined. No discount was offered no apologies / accountability was done either and for your safety / mental health I recommend going to a different location or save your money and just eat at home because bad experiences like this are just going to leave a bad taste in your mouth. read more

Denny's may not be the first place you think of when you are considering spots to celebrate your child's birthday party, but you may want to think again! Last Friday night we held a birthday party for our 5-year-old here and it was beyond amazing. Fernando and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate 20 kids and 25 adults to make sure everyone had a great experience. Without requesting, they decorated an area within the restaurant with balloons and party favors, treated the birthday boy like a king, and even presented him with a gift from the staff. Finally around 12:15 with no food no server in sight we got up to leave but I was going to speak to the manager but there was no one around..no one. We ordered our food around 5:30PM (being our party was the only people dining there at that time) and the food did not arrive to us until 6:45PM..? It took them an hour to serve us pancakes?? Food was mediocre. Tried the Bourbon Chicken Sizzling Plate and I thought it was just okay. Slightly on the more saltier side because of the sauce, but it tasted just like a standard meal for $11. I wouldn't say it's worth the $11 spent though. Also, I tried to do a check-in to receive 15% off from the Yelp Check-In feature, but the cashier did not seem to understand the features of Yelp and she would only accept discount offers if they were in a barcode form... I was sure if I asked for their manager to help apply my 15%, I'm sure it would have worked, but I didn't want to bother through that and just went through with paying full price. Felissa is a nasty, vile, condescending person. I was unfortunate to sit in her section and be subjected to her rude and passive aggressive attitude. Below are some things I want to make note of: 1. She was slower than molasses 2. She did not take orders in the order that people were seated 3. She would avoid making eye contact and would outright avoid people when they were seeking her attention 4. When you would complain to her, she would argue with you and was extremely condescending 5. Majority of the people in her section were complaining about her, one table walked out before getting their food 6. When our food came out, a small silver container was put on the table, which we thought was warm syrup. We pour it on our pancakes and we thought it was kind of loose and came out fast...coming to find out, it was coffee and not warm syrup. We never ordered coffee so that should not have been placed on our table when our food came out. We told a gentleman about it and he said he'd bring us fresh food immediately and brought us over syrup. I could tell he wanted to laugh and I told him to just go ahead and laugh instead of trying to hold it in. When we got Felissa's attention and told her about it, she held up the syrup that the gentleman brought out and said to us and said, "this here is syrup". At that point I turned away from her because I was about to curse her out. She didn't get a tip from us, and we are both overly generous tippers. I would not recommend ever visiting this location. If you do, do not sit in Felissa's section. She is a horribly disgusting human being and should not work in service. read more
