This place was average for me... I liked that it opened late... it had a very hipster feel to it.. however the taste in food was very so-so.... thus, the 3 star rating... if the food had tasted better, I would've been satisfied with a 5 star rating... but the food was bland.
Cute brunch spot. Came on a Sunday mid-afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We enjoyed our food but I think it's a lil pricey for the taste. This place is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking, which is definitely convenient. That said, the food was on the pricey side-both the salad and chicken dishes were close to $20 each. At that price point, we expected better quality and were left a bit disappointed. Grilled Chicken Salad (4.2/5): The chicken was served cold, and the dressing tasted exactly like Kewpie Roasted Sesame dressing straight from the bottle. It was decent, but nothing stood out. Popcorn Chicken (4/5): The chicken was tender but lacked flavor and wasn't crispy at all. It also came with the same salad as the grilled chicken salad, which felt repetitive. Coco Matcha (3.5/5): The matcha was very grainy, bitter, and astringent. The coconut water seemed to be from a bottled product and had very little flavor. I was expecting something sweet, refreshing, and smooth, but it ended up being the opposite. On the positive side, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly. Overall, while the service was great, the food didn't justify the price for us, and we probably won't be coming back.
I took my mom here for a Mother's Day brunch and my birthday celebration because it falls around the same time every year. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.
I had a magical, memorable experience at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights). I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

This cute cafe is tucked away in a plaza, so you need to park and walk to find it. I tried the Rose Latte, which was tasty with a slightly bitter flavor, it actually smell like roses. I also had the Coco Waffle, the coco was well balanced and not overpowering making it enjoyable. Decaf was not available. Prices are a bit high, but that's understandable these days. The atmosphere is relaxing with soft music and and a very pleasant vibe. It's in a predominantly Asian area, if that's helpful.

They have outdoor seating which is nice and could potentially fit a group of 6 there, too. Waiter was friendly and helpful and accommodated our needs when they came up. Onto the food~ We ordered the wagyu with fries, the berry waffle plate and the grilled chicken salad to share between the two of us. The portions were decent--it was enough for the two of us who were on empty stomachs. The meat is cooked to your preference for the wagyu as well as the egg. it was seasoned nicely and came with the chimchurri sauce. It was a little chewy but still tasted good. The grilled chicken salad was good, portion was rather small to share between two people but it still worked out. I liked the flavoring but I feel like the meat cuts could've been bigger. The berry waffle plate was a nice dish to share. It came with ice cream and egg custard. Great closing to our meal. For drinks--I ordered a cappuccino which was average. They provide you a liter of water for you to refill, which is nice! Parking is pretty easy. This place is inside the plaza and was fairly easy to find, too. Overall I think the food is decent, price wasn't too bad but the portions were quite small. I'd like to come back to try other things, too.
Hide Out Café is a cozy Asian-fusion spot known for its chill vibes, friendly service, and surprisingly creative drinks and dishes. In my visit, I treated myself to the café's adorable Boba Bear Set. A frozen milk tea bear served with a house-made cookie, plus an Osmanthus latte this latte was heart warming and delicious. For food I started with their fresh avocado dip and homemade tortilla chips, then enjoyed a basil-sautéed chicken with rice and salad for my main. To top it all off: churro and ice cream for dessert. Which had a house made whipped cream! If you're into cute drinks and comforting, tasty eats, this place offers a little escape from the everyday. Can't wait to go back for seconds and thirds! Tips: Lots of parking if you pull all the way around to the back lot where there is a parking structure!
I have only tried the drinks here. The interior is really cute. There are not a wide variety of options that I can have here being a diabetic but I came back ti get my friend a hot rose latte and a lavender latte. Service was great and very beautiful presentation with the hot coffee.

Came in for a quick afternoon snack. Menus are on the QR code and it's tableside service. I was able to order a waffle right before last call at 3pm. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Ordered: coco waffle + cafe au lait for $32. Both came out quickly and were very enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, it would be a great study spot. Left feeling extremely confused. We ordered two Wafflewiches with the cheese on the side, but only one was brought out. We waited about 15 minutes, thinking the second order was just running behind. Since we were trying to be patient and enjoy our time, we ended up splitting the one sandwich we received. The restaurant wasn't busy, but we had a hard time getting our waiter's attention. Unfortunately, we never found out what happened to the second order and ended up leaving still confused. At least we had six tater tots to split three each, really yum tho :) read more

Overall, the food and coffee wasn't great. I've never seen chicken waffle this dark before. Waffle is soggy, fries are undercooked, coffee tasted off. I don't think that they gave us maple syrup. It tasted like brown sugar and has a bitter after taste. Horrible and I will never come back. read more

This got to be the best cafe i've been too, it's cute quiet "hidden" cafe that serves excellent food. I was fully expecting mediocre food walking in because usually cute places like these don't prioritize the quality on food but this was extremely tasty. Wow! It's been awhile since I've been here but decided to stop by for lunch. I ordered the Avocado Toast with Jasmine Milk Tea with Oat Milk. This cafe was not only adorable but the staff were so sweet and welcoming. The ambiance felt so fresh but like home. I love all the plants there and the decor. Plus seeing so many patrons using the cafe as a work space was great as it's a third space. We weren't able to stay long but the cafe's infamous Boba Bear Set was well worth the drive. Came here for brunch, and ordered the BBQ pork plate. It usually comes with rice and salad, but I opted for an extra rice scoop instead. The pork was good - seasoned well and they used pork belly so it was flavorful. The sunny side up egg was a nice touch. The person I came with ordered the popcorn chicken which they thought was okay. Overall, the food here is pretty good, but it tasted very one-note. The service was good, and the restaurant had both inside and outside seating. It is possible that we just didn't order the right dishes, but nothing that we ordered really stood out to me. read more
This place has the sweetest strawberry lemonade in town and the sweetest, kindest staff in the area, too! They offer a digital menu, and you may have to wait if you need a table inside/outside; the staff will show you to a table. The place is kept neat, clean, and very well decorated. The drink came out quickly and tasted even better thanks to their fantastic customer service. I used to come here so often to grab a drink or catch up with friends, but there's so many other boba spots competing. Though, I would say this place focuses more on coffee... and now food and instagrammable drinks. Unfortunately the Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea I ordered tasted so diluted, with no sweetness and no tea flavor. I was tempted to have them add some syrup or remake it but I kept it. Their drinks are usually pretty good so I must've ordered the wrong thing this time. It's always a great place to study or chat. This brunch spot was very solid - the hashtag fries and popcorn chicken were delicious though the minced pork noodle dish lacked a bit of flavor. The tiramisu milk tea was amazing! Only thing I have to say is not sure if most people were out or there aren't mah servers but there was only one person handling all the orders and making drinks and I felt very bad. 10 out of 10 stars for his service and he was very appreciative for our patience. read more

Food was very delicious. It was my 1st time here, my 15th year old daughter has been here with my husband. I ordered the BBQ Pork belly and let me tell you. It did not disappoint. The flavor of the pork belly was very delicious. Service was great, they're very attentive. There is a bit of music on the background, but honestly, its not too loud. I have to thank Pamela L. for bringing me here! She was visiting all the way from New Jersey, and we thought this would be a great brunch place to catch up and chat. The Boba Bear (brown sugar milk tea with cream top and a frozen milk tea bear) was enjoyable. Aesthetics aside, it was a solid drink that is comparable to many standalone boba shops. Maybe even better than a few in my opinion. The topping was perfectly chewy and bouncy. It came with a few cookies, which was nice. Coco Waffle (belgian waffles, pecan ice cream, rolled wafers) was also a treat! Definitely for the sweet tooths since it's a lot of sugar this early in the morning. Chocolatey goodness! Such a cute hangout! The waiter was very helpful and giving with so much energy! The tiramisu latte was perfectly sweet and delicious. The popcorn chicken was drowned in garlic. A little too much garlic. Enough to fight off vampires. The chicken sandwich was pretty good but I was hoping for more breading on the chicken. Ohhh my lord!! This place was awesome!! Not one thing I can say was bad or needs work. The Boba Bear Set=Cute and delicious! Cafe Au Lait=Omg! Coffeelicious! We went there on a Sunday. The place is super small. With party of 6, it was very tight. What really bothered us was they were super slow. It took 45 mins till we got our drinks. The waitress came to confirm our drink order after order placed 20 mins, only to confirm whether we wanted hot or cold latte. Then they brought the wrong one. 1 of us did not have our drink till we all finished eating. In terms of food, its just super basic. They tried to present it pretty but nothing special. The food was really tasty and with all the right textures. It's a bit pricey but that's kind of expected for a nice brunch place. The service was quick and perfect and the interior wasn't too big but had nice seating for smaller parties. read more
