I used to come here in the early 2000s when it was a small mom and pop shop and probably seated less than 50 people. I just recently came back for the first time since nearly 20 years ago, and so much changed! They expanded and seems like there may be another location as well! The food was better than I remember too! The churro platter was really good, especially with the dipping sauces. The chilaquiles was tasty. The green was on the tangy side just fyi. All the dishes were tasty and I would come back to try more items!
This is my second time coming here and the space itself is always busy. Their coffees seem to be popular. Ordered the lavender honey latte and it was delicious, the perfect balance of sweet. For the food, the house burrito was good, but it was a bit dry when you hit the middle of the burrito. Felt like it needed sour cream inside and cheese to balance the meet and potatoes. The same for the hobo skillet. Needed a balance, maybe even some diced vegetables like bell peppers. They just felt like heavy dishes. I came and enjoyed their strawberry crepes the last time, which were delicious. But again, the dishes feel a bit unbalanced. Either it's heavy on the grease to clog the arteries or heavy on the sweet to give you diabetes. Worth a visit, but I haven't found a dish I like that gives a wow. They did forget my plate last time, so everyone ate as I waited for my plate to come. Staff is friendly but like I said, they do get busy and I have seen some tables get served sooner than others.

My friend got the Texan skillet and the steak was very dry perhaps over cooked, I got the chipotle chilaquiles and added chicken. The chicken was quite dry and had no flavor, and the texture almost seemed like day old chicken leftovers. Ordered a michelada and it just tasted like watered down Clamato so I added a lot of lemon and tapatio but still wasn't good so ended up not drinking it. As for service, they served us our food and we had no utensils, we finally got a servers attention to ask for utensils to eat.
Service was great! We got seated right away, the servers came to check in with us to take our drink and food order Almost immediately. My daughter and I shared El Tri. Which was red and green chilaquiles, with steak, potatoes and egg. It was very filling for both of us. We enjoyed it. They also have a variety of crepes which we have had before and are delicious. The cafe de olla is a must try!
My wife and I met friends here for breakfast. Our experience was relaxing and fun, thanks to the great customer service we received and the delicious meal we enjoyed. The employees who assisted us were very friendly, attentive, and hardworking. The food we had was perfectly prepared and flavorful. The vibe here is fun, with uplifting Mexican music playing overhead, and the restaurant is colorful, clean, and inviting. Parking is readily available in the large, private parking lot.
Yes ! THEY CHANGED MANAGEMENT! Trust me when I say ... this is good news . They manager before would always have a mean look , and you can tell other workers would feel her," bad vibes " ... it would also make customers feel icky while trying to enjoy their meals . I wouldn't mind coming often even more now . I will always be a huge fan of the Huevos Rancheros . Once you have that meal , you would be hooked for life .

By the time we headed out, there were a bunch of parties waiting, so it definitely gets busy.

I had to walk up the server area and ask for the syrup (none on our table). Only had one toast, one sausage and the drinks. Everything else was left on the table. No one asked if there was any issues with the food or asked if we had room for dessert... she just put the bill on the table n walked away... Do we plan on coming back?? Maybe for the coffee which was the only thing we all enjoyed having that morning. Nothing special here from what we experienced.... Overpriced food

The food here is so good and the coffee is made to perfection! I've gotten a few different dishes here and their seasoning is absolutely a amazing! One of the waitresses named Pamela, helped my dad and I out the first time and she talked us through for what they are known for and customers favorites. They are known for their Chilaqulies which omg you definitely have to get it! As for drinks, I've gotten a caramel blended ice coffee and one of their signature lattes (amor de naty). Both were delicious! The taste of coffee and their other flavors are pretty balanced which is nice when paired with your meal. Overall this place deserves the 5 stars because of their amazing service, consistent delicious & well seasoned food, and their tasty drinks. I also would like to thank Pamela again for helping us feel very much welcomed for when we first tried this place out :)!
Ordered a breakfast burrito to go and was DELICIOUS. I love their crepes too. Been coming to this place for years now before they expanded their restaurant and they deserve their success.

Condiments were already on the side of the table and the server was really friendly and prompt with orders and bringing food out. My friend brought me here, she's been here before and said everything was great. Can't go wrong with anything you order from here. This could be preference since I thought it was just ok. I got the chilaquiles and club panini. It was cooked well, and the egg was over medium as requested. It was cooked perfectly. The problem is I didn't really taste much flavor aside from tomatillo. It was as if the chips were sitting in a sauce of just boiled tomatillo. The club sandwich was also too salty for me. I paid an extra $2 to get my side upgraded to fries and that was delicious. It was crispy and hot. I wouldn't rule not coming back if friends wanted to come back but it just wouldn't be my first choice.
This place has very good food! I really like some of their dishes and they do a decent job. It used to be one of our favorites years ago but in the recent years, it has dropped from 5-Stars to 3-Stars. Prices make it difficult to come here on a more regular basis and the service seems to be lacking compared to what it used to be. Today, we came after church and ordered three Cafe de Olla's. My daughter asked for cream for her coffee but we continued to wait as our waitress disappeared. When they brought out our food, which was very quick, my daughter asked again for the cream from the male waiter that was helping. He actually gave her a look, like disgusted or annoyed, he went to his area and he never brought over the cream. Had to ask the host to finally get cream for her coffee. The food was good. We are disappointed that the have removed the Poblano crepe, it was one of our favorites but what we did order was very good. My daughter and I shared the Crepe Combo with eggs, sausage, potatoes and a banana crepe. Everything was great. My son had the Big Boy breakfast. Man did that get a proper name. The ham steak was huge, pancakes were delicious. Again, everything was so good. Place was busy but we were able to get in quickly. No more hour waiting time like years back.
I loved this restaurant. The food is great, very tasty. Served warm and delicious. The customer service is amazing, they constantly check up on you if you need anything. And the ambiance is great, makes you feel at home. Definitely will come back to spend quality time with my family and enjoy the brunch. Will recommend to my family and friends! Thanks Caramelo Café.

Caramelo's is always a spot I can count on that will hit constantly! There's a reason why this place always has a line, especially during brunch hour. Upon an arriving, you will find Caramelo's located to the far left of a big shopping center. There is plenty of parking in the area, but if you want to secure something close by try to arrive early- especially before brunch time. The service here is always great in my experience! I do my best to try something new every time and I haven't had any complaints about any of the foods. Although, my Go-To is always a nice French toast or if I'm feeling something savory, a yummy sandwich. Other than my go-to order, my favorite thing is their style of potatoes. They are so yummy and flavorful & something different, other than the typical hash-brown style served in many other breakfast spots. They have plenty of seating options as they have expanded their location, but still get very busy so plan accordingly! read more

Got to visit for the first time today. Service is great! Very attentive staff. Food is amazing! Large portions, great flavor. The place has plenty of sitting but it does get busy. I forgot the name of the coffee I got but I wasn't too big of a fan. The sugar was all at the bottom and flavor was alright. Other than that I would definitely come back and also try a different coffee. read more
Caramelo cafe never disappoints! Our waiter was very attentive and polite. She made sure we were good and asked if we needed anything every 10 minutes. I love that kind of service. The feeling you get at caramelo cafe is a like you're eating at home. They make you feel welcomed. The setting of the restaurant is perfect! The food was a 10/10. Me being Mexican, I'm very particular which Mexican restaurant I eat at. But at caramelo cafe you feel like you're eating food your grandmother made. The chilaquiles were perfect! The potatoes and egg was a perfect combo. The crepe I got was super delicious. The strawberries were fresh and I could've eaten 10 more crepes! And for the star of the show, the cafe de olla, best coffee I've ever had. Goes great with every meal. I will be coming back and ordering even more crepes! read more

First of all we got seated right away. The staff was so nice and welcoming. I think Pam was our waitress and she was the literal sweetest. I would come back just for good service like she provided. But the food was outstanding! My hubby got a burrito filled with chilequiles which I think they are pretty known for. I got a savory crepe with chipotle sauce and chicken. That sauce is so delicious and creamy I trust everything would be delicious! I can't wait to go back :) read more

In the mood for Chilaquiles today, the green salsa is tasty versus the red salsa, which is spicy. Ordered a a sweet crêpe with bananas and strawberries. Customer service was a little off today, ordered one cup of coffee, sadly, we did get it until, after our food came out, and only after I had to remind the waitress about it. Didn't understand why, as it wasn't that busy when we placed our order. Overall, we did enjoy breakfast except for that one hiccup! read more

Finally got a chance to try this location since I've only had the one on Valinda. This location is much bigger and js bustling! We got two sandwiches (Chicken Pesto) and a Garden Omelette as well as some french toast (an upgrade from regular toast I believe). The sandwiches were good (3.5/5), but the omelette was GREAT. Avocado was perfect on top as well. Their crepes are what I would say are the star of their menu (refer to my review of the other location for those). I will say I don't think it's ideal to have these dishes come with potato chips and a (really sad in our case) slice of pickle, I'd have much rather the option for fries or homestyle fries. read more

Extremely, extremely overrated. I was so excited to try this place since everyone in the area seems to love it, but it might have been the worst brunch I have ever had. The food was very greasy tasting, and the restaurant was small, cramped, and dirty-looking. read more

Pick up of online order was quick and painless compared to the long line outside. You have to go to the bar area for pick up. Only had to wait a few more minutes for the El Gordo to be ready (everything else was done at pick up time). Kind of weird that utensils have to be requested from the host by the door instead of having them already inside the bag. El Gordo - 5/5 - delicious chilaquiles (tried it with green sauce) with chorizo Country Crepe - 4/5 - overflowing with ham, mushrooms, egg and spinach Paris Crepe - 4/5 - loaded with strawberries and bananas, but only a drizzle of Nutella Via Lactea Crepe - 3.5/5 - nice chunks of cajeta de membrillo (quince caramel) Gloria - 3/5 - loaded with pecans, but a little too sweet The place was full. People looked like they were enjoying their food. The bathroom could use some fresh air though. read more

Brought out the family for breakfast Sunday morning to this little breakfast spot we've been hearing about. Literally a hole in the wall, you might miss it! As someone who likes to view other people's opinions on places, it was only natural I looked them up on Yelp. The ratings were good and the food looked delicious in the pictures! I noticed they had the option to check in through here so I did. Once we arrived about 2min later it said we were ready to be seated and to see the host. My only "complaint" would be having to wait an additional 7min after our table was supposed to be ready and the hostess not giving us a friendly welcome. Once we sat down our waitress took all our orders and had patience with my youngest sisters when they switched up their orders last minute. The food was pretty good as were drinks. It was pretty busy since it was a Sunday morning but the service was quick! I've included pictures of the items we ordered, I'll definitely be coming back soon. read more
Stopped in for breakfast yesterday and had an okay experience. Staff is friendly, but service is a little lacking. This seems to be an issue at both of their locations. The food is always delicious, but for the prices they charge, there should be better training of the wait staff and better service. We had to ask repeatedly for coffee refills, and no one ever came back to check on us after receiving our food. We had to wait for them to give us a check when we were ready to leave...and we sat there for quite some time to see if they would. I did notice that they've expanded their indoor dining area, so they can accommodate many more people, but it wasn't too busy on our visit, so I'm perplexed about the service. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. FOOD & DRINK: We started with a couple of regular coffees ($5.14 ea.), and my wife had a Strawberry Licuado, a Mexican style milkshake ($7.14), topped with whip cream. For our breakfast entrées, I ordered the Texan Skillet ($21.60), topped with two eggs over easy, and my wife had the Sweet Crepe Combo ($16.09) with two eggs and two strips of bacon. My mother-in-law tried the Pancake Combo ($18.38) which comes with two eggs, bacon, and potatoes. We also shared a side order of the Chilaquiles ($10.39) with a red chipotle sauce. I'm not usually a fan of chilaquiles, but these were the best I've ever had, especially because of the sauce! Everything was delicious and the portions are generous. We were able to take home leftovers for the next day. I so want to love Caramelo Cafè, but it's a little pricey and they just can't seem to work out the service issues. Not sure we'll be back anytime soon. read more

We had such a great experience at Caramelo Café! Pam gave us amazing customer service. She was so kind, attentive, and made us feel really welcomed. I ordered the Tri Chilaquiles and a café de olla, and honestly, it was one of the best café de olla I've ever had! Everything was flavorful and perfectly made. Just when we thought we were completely stuffed, Pam recommended their crepes and I'm so glad she did! We tried the banana crepe and it was the perfect sweet treat to finish our meal. 10/10 would absolutely recommend Caramelo Café. We'll definitely be back! read more
Service needs to be better. The food is not served nicely it is messy when served. Cups for what were dirty and I asked a gentleman to take the dirty cups and he came back with new cups. It is a semi clean environment but employees need to work on the services. Prices are high in my opinion. Unfortunately won't be returning due to my experience. I sat around and waited for the bill for a very long time as well. Had to say something to get it. read more

When we were there they didn't have outdoor seating. They also require that your whole party is there when they seat you. Can't tell if they're pet friendly, but they're definitely kid friendly. :)
