The waitress we had appeared to have some kind of persistent cough that would not go away. The dining area was dirty and our orders were brought out incorrect. After the food was brouggt out I had to ask a different waitress for a refill and this was on a slow weekday night. I have been dining with Denny's for many years. Our last visit to this particular one was very disappointing. I ordered a burger and they did not bring any bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, or pickle. The plate also looked like they started to put chili fries on my plate then stopped and wiped the plate in a half way manner. The fries were old. Very disappointing. read more

Not worth it! Got there around 11:30 pm, table of seven. Got served coffee and water pretty quickly. After about 20 minutes, we got to put in our food order. I ordered 2 biscuits with gravy, over easy eggs, and sausage links. We received our food at 12:45!!! The waiter (Dakota) "misunderstood" my simple order of 2 biscuits with gravy and thought I wanted 2 of the biscuit and gravy meals. My eggs were perfect! I never got my sausage links. I couldn't even eat the biscuits and gravy because the gravy would have put me in to cardiac arrest! BEYOND SALTY! SALTIER THEN YOUR EX! I couldn't breath, my mouth was on fire after the first bite. We've been to this Denny's in the past and it was good. It had been over a year since we have eaten there when we came in today. Our host and waitress where both friendly and polite, but the restaurant was on the dirty side. Silverware and glasses where grimy and bathrooms where dirty. I went in with my service dog and instead of sitting me where I asked I was forced to sit all the way in the rear because "their customers" complain. Like I'm not a paying customer? My dog is well trained, well behaved and I felt discriminated against for sure. Then the people that came in 15 mins after me were given drinks and order taken while no one waited on me. When I finally got food & paid I gave the hostess that seated me an ADA card and she still insisted "their customers complain". Hadn't eaten at this Denny's in a few years heard they had new owners so we decided to give it a try, just like I remembered, the place was filthy, several empty tables that were never cleared the full hour and a half we were there. Terrible, unprofessional service, had 2 waitresses, neither really did anything, messed up my order of eggs and toast. Never could get refills, had to wait an hour to get food and it was just eggs and toast. They just stood by the register and talked. Complaining to the shift manager about service/food did no good, not even an offer for the trouble. Do yourself a favor, get drive through somewhere else. read more

The buffalo chicken strips are delicious but sadly all the other food is subpar. Whatever you do don't order their nasty instant mashed potatoes or their vegetables even when I order them steamed they are covered in a cup of grease. read more

I love Denny's and I go there often. Almost once a week, but after going on a Saturday night I'm considering changing that habit. After waiting half an hour for a waiter to even notice us after we were seated, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. After being there an hour we (my order and my partners order) we're both given raw eggs. Four sunny side up raw eggs in total. After practically flagging down our waiter I pointed this out and asked for new ones. I was promptly told, "Uh. Actually, those are sunny side up." After showing my waiter the clear and runny parts of my eggs he said, "You know what? Fine. Fine." and proceeded to walk away before any more words would be said. My partner and I were both brought new eggs. Mine were cooked but my partners were not. This is six now salmonella containing opportunities. Not to mention the Strawberry Pancake Puppies we ordered (as appetizers) never came to our table. After all of this and upon receiving the receipt my partner and I went to the desk to pay and leave, the manager that night was the one ringing us up. I told her about the raw eggs, I received no eye contact and she would not respond to me. Then proceeded to charge me for the pancake puppies I never received. All the while this is going on, another waiter who didn't serve us is making out with a blonde customer at the bar, while a waitress is screaming and cussing behind the bar while she words about a fellow worker. We stopped here on our way home from a ballgame and I regretted staying when it took too long for the waitress to bring our drinks. The waitress was really friendly considering she was busting her butt to wait,hostess, and bus the tables herself. All this while the manager on duty did nothing to help her. The food was awful! Even if I'm starving I would not go back. Not to mention it was pretty unclean. Finally I had to wait in line to pay and the before mentioned manager was holding up the line because he couldn't figure out the register, overcharged the customer ahead of me. Terrible service. Our waitress was switched multiple times. We were only checked on about twice. Ordered two burgers and a side salad. After 40 minutes had to ask for my side salad only to find HAIR in my food. Waved down a waitress b/c no one was regularly helping us. Told her about the hair and received a blank stare. Told her I did not want another one but just wanted the item removed from my bill since I had only eaten about 1/3 before finding the hair. After waiting for 1.5 hours we still did not receive our food. Waved down a different waitress and asked if we could cancel our order and leave do to the outrageous wait. She responded "well everyone's food is taking forever." I then asked again to cancel my order and we left. This was the Troy, MO location and I will NEVER go back to another Dennys due to this terrible service and disgusting food. The table in front of us complained to their waitress about the terrible quality. The table next to us complained to their waitress about their wait and their order being incorrect. We have eaten at Denny's for a number of years and enjoy the food a lot. But I have to say that the Denny's in Troy, Mo has the worst customer service I have run into. When you walk in the doors you are greeted with thick smoke smell. As you stand there waiting for someone to seat you, per your sign, you breathe in This smoke as staff looks right at you and turns the other way. Today was the final straw. We turned around and left. Customers should not have to stand there and wait to be seated, served or checked out. Have never had any problems with other Denny's and should not have any with this one. You have staff yelling across the room at another staff member and your food will sit waiting to be delivered and grows cold. Today was our last visit to the Denny's in Troy, Mo. I strongly suggest that you employ someone who is willing to take this store and hire reliable, friendly staff who are willing to serve their customers with at least a smile. Smoke free would really be a plus so you don't have to be greeted with it coming or going. read more
