Server : Annalise Service : Short, Snappy, impatient. You could tell she was purposely trying to avoid making eye contact with our table. She would drop off food or drink, and walk away as fast as possible. Even sometimes just placing something on the table as she walked past, didn't even care to stop or slow down... she was very short and disrespectful to my wife, mother, and sister in law. At first we thought she might have been having a bad day, gave her the benefit of the doubt, until we asked for new drinks and she made a nasty face when walking off. There is an old saying...you get what you pay for. The food here is great if you purchase a good quality of steak. If you purchase a cheap cut of meat, you are going to be disappointed. You may not like what I write here but it's true. You pay $17 for a steak and I pay $29 for mine, my steak will taste better and more enjoyable. The service here is usually good. The restaurant had a nice ambiance visually but it is always loud. Too loud. I wish they would do something about the noise. Sometimes it's difficult to have a simple conversation. Went there last night for my wife's birthday. Told the server we had a birthday and although she couldn't ride the saddle because of her back, but we would like the song and the ice cream. So, food came, we ordered cheese fries and the onion. Worst cheese fries we've ever had there. The cheese was one (fairly small) clump that looked like silly putty just placed there, the fries were old and just a smattering of bacon bits. We asked those to be taken off. Then our entrees came. The 16oz Ribeye was... meh. Not bad enough to ask for it to be taken back, but not good enough for the cost. A bit overcooked (asked for medium rare), and lacked the flavor that I came to expect. Again, I'm not looking for Ruth's Chris level, but it should be better than a road stop diner. Finally, the waitress just handed the check. No song, no ice cream. When she got around to coming back, I asked her about it and it was "oh! I forgot. Do you still want it?" Yeah. That's part of the fun. We asked for it to go, was still expecting the song, but it was just handed in a to go container and "Thanks!" with her rushing off. We didn't stuff on the tip, but that was pretty rude. Kind of dumbfounded and my wife was a bit upset/disappointed. She went to the car with our grandson, I stopped at the front with my daughter to talk to a manager, explained the entire situation and was told "do you want to bring her back in so we can sing?" The food and service here are very good. The country music is truly at ear-splitting levels. Last time I came here, I brought OSHA-rated ear protectors. A decibel measuring app on my phone registered 80 db. In my corner booth, and I was not under a speaker. 85 decibels is when OSHA requires employees to wear earplugs. The location in Wentzville has historically been better than others in the same area, but the past 2 times, the experience has been subpar. As always, the dinner rolls were warm, soft, and served with delicious sweet butter. The butter is always soft and easy to spread, which I prefer. Our waitress was clever, friendly, and quick. She kept our drinks full, and our food came at the appropriate time. This is where they have fallen the last two times I have visited. First, I unwrapped 5 rolls of silverware before finding a set that did not have crusted food on it. It wasn't just water spots or scratches. There was actual food left on the silverware. This isn't typically the case, but it really turned me off. Second, the sirloin my husband usually orders was a little overdone. The last time we visited, my prime rib was overdone. This time, it was just about right. The vegetables (salad and baked potato) were correct and flavorful. The flavor has not changed. However, the variations in cooking temperature, along with this trip's silverware issues, have shown me that the location is in decline. I hope to see it regain the lost quality. We will likely try it another time or two in case these visits were outliers. read more

My sister and I enjoyed our dinner yesterday evening. Our server, Grace, was a breath of fresh air. Right after we ordered our entrees I received a FaceTime call from my son who is stationed in Alaska. This call was to show my sister and I my newest granddaughter. We went outside after explaining to Grace what was happening and we exited to hear the call. Grace took personal care of our table and managed our food service until we returned to the table. The sirloin I had is one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. I asked for the manager to make sure to recognize Grace for her exceptional level of service and to ensure the grill chefs were also recognized. This location is your best in the area. It wasn't nearly as soft and moist as what I'm used to, and it had too much breading. It was hard and crunchy - too crunchy. The problem wasn't the food - it was the service. I asked for regular butter and a water three times, with each time the young female server would saying, "Oh, that's right. I'm sorry." I'm ok if it happens once or twice, but the pattern continued with a second bowl for my salad. I requested a second bowl so that I could split my salad with my wife. She forgot. Then the person who delivered the food said he'd get one and didn't. Then I flagged down a THIRD person to finally get one.
