I had a deep crease on the hood of my 2019 M4 thanks to someone kicking up a big rock on I-880. It was a challenging dent to work with because it was on an aluminum piece and positioned above a structural member that made it difficult to get underneath. Sal spent 5 hours working on that dent and he got probably 98% of it out. Now, you have to know where to look before you can see it. Because of the awkward position of the dent, he had to scuff some structural pieces below the hood to get his tools to reach the area. However, he managed to confine the damage to an area covered by a rubber stop. Once the rubber piece was reinstalled, there is no longer any visible evidence of damage. Amazing. The work done caused a small amount of stretching and marring on the Xpel PPF on the hood. I'm hoping that the material will heal over time as it tends to do. In any case, it's very minor. Sal used suction cups to attach his tools and lights to the hood, and it left marks on the PPF. A bit of polishing compound got it right out, but maybe next time he might want to avoid putting suction cups on PPF. Sal is not cheap, but he is GOOD. Thanks to a giant pine cone, I nearly wasted an entire afternoon trying to get a dent repaired. Earlier today I contacted another dent repair service and scheduled a 1:30 appointment to meet and repair a small dent on the hood of my car. I rush home and waited for him to arrive, after two hours of waiting and multiple phone calls and messages (that were never returned) I logged onto Yelp and found Sal. I was impressed by the number of 5 star reviews and thought he would I could trust his hands on my car. I met Sal at 4:00 and by 4:45 my dent was a distant memory and my car once again looks brand spanking new! Sal was super friendly, honest and very professional. He took the time to make sure I was completely satisfied with his work, which I am. By his own admission he "ain't cheap", but his work is flawless. I've used other dent repair services before and thought his pricing was right in line. Yes, you can find a less expensive dent repair service, but I promise you that you will get what you pay for. Fender benders, people who park by touch, terrible drivers, inconsiderate people and outright morons are a just a few enemies of owning a car in the bay area. OK we don't have an exclusive on them but it sure seems like it sometimes. So you have a dent eh? If you're reading this it's a safe bet you're interested in getting it fixed. You might be thinking "well, I guess I better have a body shop fix it", STOP! Do not have any work done until you have it evaluated by Sal. You can look at his online album and get a feel for the type of damage he is able to fix WITHOUT paint and traditional bodywork. Sal has been doing this for a long time and has fixed everything from daily driver Accords to uber expensive classic sport cars. What about dented plastic bumpers? Well my friend there is hope for you. Sal is one of few people who can soften the material and reshape the shell of the bumper back to it's original shape. Modern vehicle bumpers are typically some form of TPO (thermoplastic olefin) I've seen many many poorly done bumper repairs by body shops. If they use body filler on it it will crack and of flake off the next time it is bumped. DO NOT get this kind of repair. Many shops don't even bother to use a flex agent in the paint which allows the paint to flex, if they skip this the paint won't adhere properly and will crack and flake off the next time it is scraped or impacted in some way. In general you want to avoid repainting if at all possible. Of course not all damage can be successfully repaired using paintless dent removal, however most common dents can be removed by someone who knows what they are doing, someone like Sal. I couple years ago I got hit in my 95 M3 in a parking lot by someone backing out of a spot. My car was a particularly rare color, had exceptionally low miles, and had never been in an accident. The damage threatened to ruin much of the car's value , even if fully repaired by a traditional body shop, since the quarter panel would have needed replacing with an unoriginal part. I shot Sal some good photos, but given the extent of the damage he wanted to see it in person. I met him in San Mateo on a Saturday, and on Wednesday we had an appointment. Sal showed up to my place of work on Wednesday morning and began his work. He worked on the panel ALL DAY. By the end of the day the damage was only a pin hole sized dent, but he wanted to come back the next morning and finish it out. Awesome work by Sal! Had about a 2 inch wide dent on my model S (driver side rear near the tire) and couldn't tell it was there when done. I had a small but deep dent in the hood of my new Porsche caused by a heavy object that was dropped on it. I showed the dent to three other paintless dent companies and all three said they could not fix the dent so that it would look good - the dent was too deep. Sal said he could repair the hood to look 99% of the way it did pre-dent so I went with him. Sal spent 7 hours in my driveway working on the dent and now you literally cannot see any evidence that there was damage to my hood in that location unless you open the hood and angle it to a specific angle in the sunlight, and only then do you see a slight scuff to the clear coat - the metal and paint are perfect. Sal rocks. I got this really nasty dent on my Honda S2000 when I dropped a ramp on the rear fender. It was in an impossible place, and the first guy that looked at it flat out told me that he couldn't fix it. The second place said they'd need to drill. I can never imagine I can get so enthusiastic about a car service (if you read my previous dealer review, you know I don't like car-related service people). It was such a delight to work with Sal to fix what he himself said was one of the toughest jobs the has ever seen. After seeing photos of the big dent on the passenger side of my car, he came up with an estimate that said it would take him roughly 5 hours for the job. He showed up on the appointment day at 9:30 - and ended up finishing it up at 8pm! I think he probably took a short lunch break - but otherwise, spent significantly longer time than expected (he was filming part of the work for his You Tube channel) -but he admitted the job was more complex than he thought. In the end, the craftsmanship is great - we are very happy with the result. We offered to pay him more for the additional time but he said just to give him the original amount. I found Sal on Yelp and it turns out he lives in my neighborhood. I'd seen his truck drive by before, so called him for a quote on a small door ding. He came by, looked at the ding and gave me a quote. He guessed that he could fix it in fifteen minutes, if the ding was not blocked by a metal plate inside the door. When he came back the next day, he started working on it and realized the ding was blocked by the plate. He quoted me just a few extra bucks and within 50 minutes, he was done. He also knocked out two very small dings in the same area that I hadn't noticed- all for the same price. There's no trace of any dings or dents anymore and the door looks new. Sal is fantastic. Very likeable guy who brings integrity to the paintless dent repair space. He works hard - always driving around doing multiple jobs and receiving calls from customers, but he showed up when he said he would and did the work in the amount of time he said it would take. I had a huge dent in the corner of my rubber bumper and he said I had three options: 1) sal could fix it from the outside using tools to pull it out - least expensive 2) sal could take the bumper off the car and fix the bumber but it it would require more effort and cost to put on 3) I could buy a new bumper from a body shop and have it painted (most expensive by far, validated by some visits to body shops). Sal advised me to go with the least expensive option and said it would turn out well. Sure enough, it looks great. I was very skeptical of what could be done but now I am a believer. in contrast, I had him look at another car and he said the dent in the door was a ton of work and would be more cost effective to go to a body shop.
