(Amazing Work)Everything went perfect, with very little to no discomfort and I was up and running the next day like nothing ever happened. I highly recommend the Dental office of Dr Ignacio De La Vega and his staff. Everybody there is so kind and they treat you very well and they all show that LOVE what they do. After my dentist retired, we had a little global pandemic, and then things got busy and ... in 2026 I brought them a mouth some California dentists wouldn't touch without hundreds of dollars in X-ray and lab fees up front. Then wouldn't touch. ​ In two days of care, they replaced a complex crown, did four quadrants of deep cleaning, and filled an embarrassing number of cavities. I paid about two and a half Gs for what I was quoted elsewhere for between $6K and $10K. This is dental work under local anesthesia, so some pain from numbing is expected. They have a deal with a chain hotel in easy walking distance that has an included breakfast with soft foods and a UV water dispenser on every floor. From my initial contact on WhatsApp, to their offer to Uber me to the office, to patient intake and detailed assessment including head CTs (!), 3D modeling (!!!), photography of teeth and individual tooth x-rays, and the competence of the clinical team... I don't believe this level of dental care is available in Estados Unidos. If I have a friend who needs dental care, I will cheerfully refer them here. Note: WhatsApp and Uber are essential tools in Tijuana.​

It was a super easy walk across the border. Their taxi picked us up and dropped us off. Had a really nice coffee at a charming coffee shop next-door. I went in there with an $800 estimate and my partner went in there with a $3000 estimate and we were told that both of those were unnecessary so we were both able to leave with a $40 cleaning. They quoted me $2,000, which just didn't seem right. I wasn't in that much pain and that seems like a lot of money. They did provide photos of the damaged tooth, though, showing that the work needed to be done. But I didn't want to pay that much. So, I did some research on tiktok and found Washington Dental. Reached out to them via email and they setup a nice appointment for a Saturday. Crossing the border is easy and if you tell the people at the border crossing you're going to Washington Dental, they'll give you a lift for free and WD will pay. (but, just be sure to confirm this first with your driver). Checked in, and waited five minutes and then they called me in. The whole process took maybe 45 minutes each visit (it takes a total of two to do it), and here I am, 2 months later with a few extra bucks in my pocket and a new crown!

My dentist in LA wanted to charge for a crown and work I didn't need. Her practice has state of the art equipment including the newest handheld X-ray equipment so they don't have to jam plastic inserts into your mouth. They have outstanding imaging software so you can see everything in high definition color. If you are thinking about driving to Mexico to get dental work done, just do it. The doctors in the US are most likely ripping you off and doing work you don't need. Dr. Olivas does too quality work and is honest. Well worth the drive.

I was in between plans so I was fortunate to be able to travel to TJ and they value it in my tooth and it was so cracked that I couldn't just get it repaired instead they had to pull it and put it in implant. It was taken care of that day with meticulous care. I know the dentist has a very high-level of attention to detail, which I really appreciated. I am going to go back in April to have the crown completed. I was there for several hours as they did a lot of work to evaluate my tooth then pull the cracked tooth and place the implant. Wasted my time, money and gas to make these trips Do I have confident to drive down and make them re-do the broken crown? Do I trust them to do a 3 teeth bridge for me? I guess I'll be staying locally and get the dental bridge done.
