So the key is to stick to speaking to the staff, not whoever their calls get transferred to. Tip: when their call center answers the phone, ask them to transfer you directly to the staff in Tracy. I don't waste my time speaking to anyone that picks up from their call center. Don't let them try to talk you out of it, keep requesting to get transferred.

When my kids first started seeing her she was working at another office. As soon as I found out she opened up her own practice we followed her there! After x rays and a short exam Dr. Razi decided his two small cavities are now, in the matter of days, so deep they are to his root and he needs silver caps. She likes to use pictures FYI. And she stated they WILL be using the board to strap my claustrophobic SEVEN year old son down to and if he is doing good "they will release one arm". As far as I'm reading on the American Academy of Dentistry's website the board is used as last resort not first. I left there terrified for my son who is asking me a million questions about what she was saying. I ended up booking the first appointment our regular dentist had once he was back in town for a third opinion. After another round of X-rays he reassured me they were two small cavities on baby teeth that had the adult teeth close under and would be falling out in a year or two and is being treated with two fillings, no sedation.....NO PAPOOSE BOARD. Now that I work AND live in Modesto, I still have no plans to leaving VCARE. I've been going to Dr. Kaur for close to two years now. Other dentists that were rated highly in Modesto are baloney reviews. You never see the dentist in those places. You're treated wonderfully as a new patient but after that it's like a McDonald's to get you through your appointment then schedule the next appointment. Long story short, I found VCARE and Dr. Kaur is an excellent doctor. She has great bedside manners, is very knowledgeable and even completes my teeth cleanings herself. For years, I've been thinking of doing Invisalign and she sold me. Other dentists never made me comfortable with the expenses and the change of lifestyle, but Dr. Kaur did. I'm a third of the way through now and it's easy breezy. So, yes, I drive from Modesto to Tracy to see my dentist; but this office is so well worth it. Janet at the front desk is also amazing, she's soooooooooooooo friendly and knowledgeable. She even communicates through text. If you're looking for a dentist, you will not regret going here!

I cannot recommend Tracy Smile Dentistry based on my experience…read more I was treated by Dr. Martinez, who recommended the extraction of two teeth and presented treatment options that would have cost several thousand dollars. During my visit, I was informed by the office staff that my insurance would provide very limited coverage for those procedures, and I felt encouraged to make a decision during that visit. Because of the cost and the permanent nature of removing two healthy teeth, I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. The second dentist thoroughly evaluated my situation and advised that extracting the teeth was not necessary. Instead, I was offered alternative treatment options that would allow me to keep my teeth. Afterward, I contacted my insurance company directly regarding the same procedures that had originally been recommended to me. I learned that those procedures actually had much better insurance coverage than I had been told at the dental office. While I would still have been responsible for certain costs, the coverage was significantly greater than what had been represented to me. The combination of being advised to remove two teeth, being presented with a very expensive treatment plan, and later learning that both the treatment recommendation and the insurance information differed significantly from what I was told caused me to lose confidence in the care I received. I ultimately decided not to proceed with the treatment plan proposed at Tracy Smile Dentistry. This review reflects my personal experience. I would encourage anyone facing major dental work to seek a second opinion and verify insurance coverage directly with their insurance provider before making a decision.
