RUN! They over sell, push products that you don't need. They replaced all of my fillings (I had another dentist review my xrays and was told it was unnecessary to do all of that work). After replacing fillings, I now have root sensitivity problems and bite problems. When I went back to have them correct my bite, they made me feel as though I was the one with the problem, that everything was fine / level with my bite. There was definitely a problem because I had pain up my cheek and headaches. Yes their office is modern and fun - love the personalities, but not at the cost of my own well being. read more

Today was my first time at Dental Elements and it was an overall great experience. My hygienist, Rena was super nice, personable and gentle on my teeth. Doctor Thurman was also very nice and took the time to talk with me and make sure I was 100% happy with my teeth. I can't say enough good things about this place. I woke up in terrible pain Sunday night and went to Dental Elements the next morning. Even though they were busy all day, they squeezed me in during the afternoon. Michael at the front desk is incredibly helpful, friendly, and comforting which is important when you are in a great deal of pain. Dr. Thurman spends a lot of time with patients, explaining what he is going to do and what is going on. I never felt badly about the condition of my teeth, he helped me make a good plan to take care of everything. When I couldn't wait any longer for a root canal, the office squeezed me in the very next day so that I could go home without pain. The procedure was long but they make you comfortable by giving you a blanket and setting you up with wireless headphones so you can just relax and watch TV while they go to work! It's the most relaxed I have been during a root canal! The big bonus is that they can do the entire procedure including the crown all in one day (it usually takes a few appointments). Lastly, Josie gave me an amazing cleaning and was so sensitive to my tooth pain. She knows her stuff and is a blast to chat with too! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is hesitant about dental work. read more

I went to Dental Elements to get a regular check up and x-rays. The office was very clean, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Micheal, the dental assistant, was very informative in giving me information about the healthcare system, and answered all my questions about insurance providers and payment options. The dental assistant who helped with my checkup made me confident about the services by asking me if I had any questions she could answer, and gave me helpful advice about maintaining my oral health. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Thurman for about one year now and every time I go in the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The office is clean and seems to have top notch technology. My favorite part is how efficient their process is, as I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. In addition, they sit down with you before proceeding with any work to go over total costs, how much insurance will cover, answer any questions, etc. I would definitely recommend Dental Elements to anyone looking for a dentist in the area. read more

THEY BILL AS A PREMIER PROVIDER. I went to Dental Elements on a recommendation from a friend. I am not a fan of the Dentist, at all, but I know I need to take care of my teeth. The first visit was good, until they started talking to me about ALL the things I needed because my teeth were in such bad shape. They quoted me for needing $3,000 dollars of work and on top of that a $700 retainer for the grinding. I took the quote home and thought about it. After talking to some people and getting a lot of warnings because the cost was so astronomical compare to other dentist I decided to try it anyway, because the office was so clean and they were so nice, they MUST know what they are talking about. I was SO VERY WRONG. I work in the health care industry, so I understand more than they think I do when it comes to billing for insurance. When I decided to get my work done, I chose only to do a portion of it. They told me how much it should be out of pocket and how much my insurance "should" pay for. I paid a significant portion ahead of time (what should have been enough to cover all the costs) and got the work done. June 2014. Every month for 8 months I checked in with them to see if they had heard back from my insurance and if my bill had been finalized. With all the checking in I found out that the billing staff billed my insurance wrong and that was why it was taking so long. So I went back in for a routine cleaning, in February 2015 paid for my out of pocket and left the office. I went back to work and discovered a bill from them in my e-mail, sent after I left the office. It said I owed over $2,000 dollars for the work I had done over 8 months ago! Remember I paid the amount they said I would owe out of pocket ahead of time. So my curiosity peaked, why did I go months without hearing anything, I am in for a visit and suddenly my bill is finished. The Bill is also labeled past due- for 90 days and I am told I need to pay immediately. So I opened the bill to see when the insurance paid everything and how long it took them to send me a bill. What is very interesting is that the insurance issued their last payment in November 2014. Why did I not receive the bill then?!!! Instead I am getting Nasty e-mails about something I haven't paid- when I was not even billed. And at that I now owe $2,000 more than what they originally quoted me, which was already a very high price for the work that I had done. The staff could not explain my bill- I understood it better than she did. And I think it is the responsibility of office to make sure they communicate everything to the patient, me. The bill also stated "Balance forwarded 1/18", why was I just then being notified that I have a balance on my account? They had no due date listed and because I am already PAST DUE I am being penalized when I haven't even been notified. So when I called to clarify everything, they couldn't even tell me if they had put my previous payment that I made ahead of time toward the bill- in June of 2014. This is just the billing aspect of why I am giving Dental Elements 1 star. I had a crown put in and a few fillings. I went in there with a little pain and sensitivity. Now almost a year later I still can't chew on that side of my mouth, my teeth are way more sensitive and I am consistently in pain. I have tried to remedy the problem- I have been in the office over 8 times for them to try and fix it. They put in the chair for about 2 minutes act annoyed, do something small and send me on my way. Tell me to wait a few hours and I will be fine. They just keep drilling down my teeth and blaming the "grinding" for my problems. When I got a second opinion my grinding is minimal if that, and I have never had any trouble with fillings that don't fit "because of my grinding". They have done nothing to remedy the situation except send me multiple bills with different amounts, and very little explanation and I am still in pain. Don't go here- waste of time and A LOT of money. Still in pain and thousands of dollars out of pocket. **Update Dr. Thurman did call me after reading this review and offer his assistance to fixing my teeth. He seemed very sincere. It is very kind and I appreciate it. Just wish it didn't take a year of fiasco to fix the problem. read more

Wow! What a freaking PARADISE for a dental practice. They give you everything you need, sure they motivate you to leave with a perfect mouth, so the price in the full program will be staggering, but it's truly up to you on what YOU want done. They are not pushy, they just know how to give all the services with you leaving with a perfect mouth! PLUS The technology they have is like Star Trek - making teeth (crowns) in house - unlike majority of Dentist. They give you all that you need to make it pain free - gas, novocain, movies, bathroom breaks, water, a blanket and a serious interest in your comfort!!! The Dentist are TOP NOTCH! They use the latest technology, are VERY GOOD at what they do, timely and do have a great concern for you and your teeth. Signing up with their in-house dental insurance is the best option! I left an hour ago, my mouth is still numb, but damn, I am impressed!!!!! Plus my teeth look fantastic! read more

I've gone to this practice for years and have sadly become finally and fully convinced that they value profits over patients. After falling for it for years, and investing substantially in dental care, I was still being told I needed over $12K out of pocket in dental procedures asap, as well as a second oral surgery (already had it once). I finally went to two other dentists and a periodontist who all confirmed that virtually none of the $12K in proposed work was needed. I am getting the surgery with a periodontist (Dr. Thurman prefers to do everything in-house, whereas most dentists refer surgery out to specialists). Interestingly, it is also considerably less expensive with the specialist than it was the first time I had it done at D.E. It bums me out to write this review; I thought I had a solid relationship Dr. Thurman and the staff, but I am really glad I finally vetted the information and really wish I had done it sooner. read more

As others have stated, this office is nice and the people are great. I agree except for the new receptionist who is extremely unprofessional. Just know going here is all about making the most possible money. I had a root canal done and a year later it became infected, they prescribed antibiotics to clear the infection before we decided what to do next. The options were, drill through the crown and finish the root canal or pull the "tooth" and have a bridge. I had to go out of town for a couple of weeks, when I returned I called and said that it was still infected and causing pain, I was told that since a year had passed, the work was no longer guaranteed. The issue was the entire root hadn't been extracted. Also, this office charges A LOT more over what your insurance pays than most other dentists. The "dental plan" I was given to fix the teeth they claimed needed to be fixed was well over $3,000. So fast forward, I find a new dentist, have the "root canal" tooth pulled and made an appointment for a regular yearly check-up. Turns out that one of my other crowns that Dental Elements put on (different tooth) has a gap in it and needs to be replaced (new dentist charge after insurance $900). Going to the dentist is bad enough, getting gouged for shoddy work is even worse. You might think the state of the art technology is doing you a favor but at what cost? read more

I agree with Billy Z. If there was a zero star category I would have checked that. I sent my daughter for a cleaning and ended up paying $1,092. They wouldn't even send her records to her primary dentist in Florida. I was ripped off. read more

Don't be fooled. They may seem nice, but their billing practices are deceptive to the point of being practically criminal. I was quoted $1,500 for a procedure. Waited til I had the money to get the procedure done. Walk out to pay and they say I now owed them over $3,000. That's double what they quoted me. And when I tried to protest or work something out, they just threatened to send me to collections. Dishonest billing practices and rude service. The double whammy when it comes to a bad dentist experience. If you're looking for a good, honest dental practice, I'd keep on looking. read more

This Dental office is not to be trusted!! I just got a negative mark on my credit report from a "bill" that I never received from them from 2012!!! The receptionist admitted that they never actually tried to reach out to me to let me know! I am paying this immediately but it is the shabbiest treatment I have EVER received from a so called "medical professional". read more

I went here a few times based on a recommendation. I can say that the staff is professional with a great office with great technology. However, every time I went in I left with a huge bill with recommendations for major work. On multiple occasions they recommended I have root canals and get crowns put on. The same thing happened to BOTH of my brothers. We decided all together to take some of those recommendations for root canals and removing teeth, and get a second opinion from our doctor we had all our lives growing up out of state who is highly regarded. He was completely taken aback by the recommendations that were made and made it clear that procedures at these lengths were not necessary. It is hard to speculate as to why this Dr. repeatedly took these routes to treatment other than they are a major profit center for him. My recommendation is to stay far away from here and always consult specialists for major procedures, like endodontists and periodontists. There's no reason a regular dentist should be performing these procedures with medical specialists available to you. read more
