All of the work my wife and I have had done here has made us both very happy. So it might be a little more expensive than another dentist, but I am willing to pay for the technology and quality of work we have experienced. As far as people being upset by the upselling, just tell them you aren't interested...I mean, they are still a business... Overall, I love the location and the office. The staff has been incredibly helpful and they are very thorough with everything. Dr. Thurman has always walked through everything he is doing so we always know what is going on. When it comes to billing, someone has always gone in the office and shown us a breakdown of all charges. All you have to do is ask. That simple. I went to Dental Elements about 6 months ago and was not a fan. The office is very nice and the location is great, but that's the only thing I liked. The dentist wasn't real friendly and he seemed aggravated with the dental hygienist when she confirmed what side of my mouth he was going to start looking at first. So it was a little awkward and uncomfortable. Also, it seems they really try to squeeze every dollar out of you. I'm in my late 20s and I've had 3 cavities my entire life. I go to Dental Elements and all of a sudden I have 10 in one visit. They then try hard to get you to commit to getting the treatment done, which was pretty expensive. They kept calling until I told them I wasn't going to get it done, and then they tried again a month later to get me to schedule the treatment. read more

I had a really bad experience with the office secretary (who is no longer there), followed by a superb follow up with the dentist himself. STAY AWAY! I wish I could leave less than one star. Or a middle finger. I have always had a very healthy mouth. Every dentist who has ever looked in my mouth has only had good things to say. I take very good care of my teeth and gums, floss 2 times/day, Sonicare, Waterpik, you name it... and it has always paid off. I went to Dental Elements because it looked like a nice office, and it was very near my house. NOT good reasons to choose a dentist, BTW! I mean, all I needed was a cleaning. What could possibly go wrong? So, I went in for a standard cleaning. I told them just to do what my insurance covered. They neglected to check my benefits until AFTER my appointment, did a bunch of stuff my insurance didn't cover, and sent me the bill. So aggravating! I stupidly went back because I had a pain in my tooth. You would think that if there were a crack or decay in the tooth, the doctor would have been able to diagnose it from the xrays he took, that my insurance did not pay for, but no... He didn't even look at them. He said he didn't see anything wrong with the tooth when he examined it. So he made me a new night guard. Great - I probably needed that. He told me I needed fluoride treatments and sealants. I paid over $1000 for all this crap. Guess what? Still had a pain in my tooth. Stupidly, I went back again. No decay, no diagnosis of a crack. So (and I am NOT kidding) he just performed exploratory drilling in my perfectly healthy, strong tooth, left a huge y-shaped canal in the molar, said "Gosh, I don't see anything wrong here. Let's fill it" Charged me over $500 for the filling. Guess what? Still have pain in my tooth. Today, 1.5 years later I was told by my long time dentist, one with integrity, who I've seen for over 20 years (wish I'd just gone a little further to see him initially) that the filling is loose, and because the thing is so huge, I'll now have to have a crown. I'm really upset. :( Thanks a lot Dr. Thurman. I now have to pay to have your thoughtless, crappy work repaired, and down the line 20 years, if I'm lucky, the crown will have to be replaced with an implant. Was this your plan all along? Lifetime revenue stream for you? If I can prevent even one person from going through this, then writing this review was worth my time. This guy just wants to sell you whatever he can with no regard for what you actually need. read more

Please do not go here. Both my husband and I went here for two years and upon our first appointment were told we needed some immediate care. I was told I needed 8 fillings and my husband needed two root canals. I had never had problems with my teeth prior and was worried I had finally neglected them, so we both went ahead with the procedures. One year later, I went in for corrections to my bite and was recommended an inman aligner (expensive!). At the end of the treatment, the technician was removing the product from my teeth - went too far, and actually removed a portion of the enamel. Furthermore, my bite no longer touched properly. When I called in to tell them about the sensitivity and issues I was having I was told that it was my fault for not mentioning something at the time of the procedure. No one apologized and I decided to move away from them at that time. Bedside manner is NON-EXISTENT here. After moving to a new practice, we were both told that the majority of the work done at Dental Elements was either unnecessary or performed incorrectly. Please do not get tricked by the new technology and fancy office! Do your research in finding a good practice, we wish we had!! read more

This place will push treatments on you that you do NOT need. Dr. Thurman likes to tell everyone they "grind" their teeth, and then charge you $500.00 for a night guard. They will push treatments and then pretty much nag you with emails about being "concerned" about you and please come in. Nonstop emails! DO NOT get veneers here. Dr. Thurman does your veneers that day and you are not afforded the opportunity to "spend time" with your new teeth. You are basically laying down in the chair and he holds the tooth up with his finger and says, "is this OK"? Making veneers is an art, and he is NOT an artist. DO your research on other Denver dentists, before you plunk down the money for this procedure. If I had to go over again, I would NOT go here. Yes his office is nice, but there is a reason it is nice - his treatments are more, so you are paying for that office. read more

They do everything electronically, so they save a lot of paperwork. They have been on-time with every appointment, they don't run over time, and everyone has been very friendly. The front desk sends out e-mail and text reminders about your appts. You can call or e-mail for appts, which is very convenient these days. They can take an instant picture of your teeth to show you why you need to get your cavity fixed, and they answer all of your questions. They also show you your dental x-rays, and tell you what they mean with all the 1,2,3 and 4's that they measure your gums by. They also allow you to pick a show while you're getting your teeth cleaned! They look out for you with preventive care (night guards for grinding and preventing gum recession). read more

Dr Thurman is a creative dentist in the most positive way possible. He stays up-to-date on the latest technology and can replace a crown all in a few hours because he makes it right there in the lab by computer. No temporary crowns or further appointments. He also discovered a hard-to-find jawbone problem I had and fixed it with my own stem cells. I've never been a fan of going to the dentist, and as such had been putting off finding a new one since I relocated to Denver. Fortunately I stumbled on Dental Elements. My initial visit was pleasant overall, starting with the asst who checked me in. He was very hospitable, and took the time to look into my insurance to ensure all my coverages and explain what I would be responsible for, if anything. My hygienist was also great. I've had hygienists in the past that aren't as personable and certainly aren't as gentle when cleaning my teeth. She made the overall experience a good one, after which the "dental geek" (the hygienist call him that) performed his exam. He made a few small recommendations, nothing that was unnecessary, and made sure I understood what all was going on with my teeth. Overall pleased with the service I've received thus far. I completed my first appointment for a routine cleaning at Dental Elements and I was pleasantly surprised with my experience from start to finish. Everyone from the front desk staff to the hygienist to the dentist were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. I appreciate great communication and Josie (the hygienist) and Dr. Thurman, both kept me updated throughout the process on what they were seeing/doing. I've never been to a dentist that provided a complementary consultation to discuss recommended next steps and even my financial obligations. If I could give Dental Elements 0 stars, I would. They are out to steal money and could not care less if their unnecessary surgeries and fillings cause more harm than good. I was skeptical after they told me that I need oral surgery and over a dozen fillings since I had been going regularly to my dentist in another state. I decided to get a second opinion and was told there is absolutely no need for surgery and the dentist could not find a single cavity. Terrible and immoral. I plan to file a formal complaint with the Colorado Dental Board, if you've been wrongfully operated on I hope you'll do the same! Dental work and service is great, but be prepared for hidden costs and fees. I went in expecting to be charged $69 for two fillings and was billed double due to some medication fee they happened to forget to tell me about until I had to pay of course. So if you want good dental care I would definitely recommend this dental office, but if your short on funds I would continue searching. I need more work done and will probably shop around for lower costing dental care. read more

I came here last month to get a chipped tooth fixed. Michael and Dr. Thurman bonded my tooth. They were both very friendly and professional. It was a pretty quick and painless procedure. Afterward when I took a look at the bonded tooth, it looked good as new. The bonding was the exact same color as my tooth. I could not even see where it was done. It feels like my normal tooth too. I paid a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place and staff. read more

I had never needed a crown until I walked into the Dental Elements office, then I suddenly needed 5 VERY expensive ones. Three of these five have since come off and one has shattered. I was also told by my current dentist that they chose the wrong material to make the crowns out of which complicates current dental work. The office is beautiful and the staff is great but you will have an expensive and possibly unnecessary bill at the end. I will never go back to this office. read more

RUN! They over sell, push products that you don't need. They replaced all of my fillings (I had another dentist review my xrays and was told it was unnecessary to do all of that work). After replacing fillings, I now have root sensitivity problems and bite problems. When I went back to have them correct my bite, they made me feel as though I was the one with the problem, that everything was fine / level with my bite. There was definitely a problem because I had pain up my cheek and headaches. Yes their office is modern and fun - love the personalities, but not at the cost of my own well being. read more
