The receptionist was unpleasant, rude, and dismissive. Even when the patient HAD A CONFIRMATION FOR THEIR APPOINTMENT. Whoever is at that front desk needs to brush up on her people skills. 0/10 don't recommend. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent place to go and I received fine treatment. I chose this practice because it is a covered entity on my insurance. I went in and was told I needed a different type of cleaning. They upsold me on fluoride which is not necessary and not covered for adults. And they billed my insurance for a non-standard cleaning that was not covered. Then told me it is my responsibility to know what is covered by my insurance. I know that a deep clean is covered, but they billed for a gingivitis cleaning that is not covered. Now I need to find a new dentist. read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE. This was the most unprofessional, shady, and downright frustrating dental experience I've ever had. Governor's Park Dental is rude, dishonest, and completely lacking transparency. It had been a while since I'd been to the dentist after being laid off and losing insurance, so I was trying to get back on track financially and health-wise. Instead, I got totally screwed over. I went in for a basic cleaning--which most insurance covers--and somehow walked out paying over $190 for a "cleaning" that lasted barely 15 minutes and $175 just to remove a broken retainer (which they literally yanked out by hand). Then they tried to charge another $175 for a new one. Total rip-off. They wouldn't give me an itemized receipt until I emailed multiple times over several days. When I finally reviewed everything with Guardian Insurance, I found out I had overpaid and should've only owed about $43 total. I reached out to the office over and over--emails, calls, texts--for three damn weeks and got nothing but silence. When I finally got Guardian on a joint call with their billing department, they completely lost it--talking over me, yelling at both me and the insurance rep, refusing to even listen. They kept bringing up that retainer charge, saying "you signed it," acting like that gave them the right to overbill and make stuff up. When I mentioned that they ignored my emails and never confirmed my canceled appointment, they tried gaslighting me--claiming they texted me when I had proof they didn't. They even admitted they knew my insurance wouldn't cover fluoride but still billed me out-of-pocket anyway. That's just shady as hell. These people don't care about patients--they care about squeezing every last dollar they can. Since going there, I've had pain in my teeth and jaw that wasn't there before. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. Governor's Park Dental is unprofessional, rude, and greedy as hell. They'll take your money, ignore you when you question it, and then try to make you feel like it's your fault. Take your business somewhere else. BE AWARE: Predatory and unethical business practices. This is the first dentist I have ever visited where the hygienist made a definitive medical diagnosis about my oral health before the "doctor" showed up. The "doctor" in question also called me dude and bro several times and looked like he hadn't showered in a week. I swear this had to be the biggest nightmare of a dentist visit I have ever experienced. They also refused to clean my teeth after specifically booking a "teeth cleaning" by saying I need a deep cleaning and it would be $2100. This dental group is by far the most unprofessional practice I have ever witnessed and I don't think they care. I told several employees how poorly my visit was and they looked at me like I had 7 eyes and spoke Japanese. This practice should close down immediately and I am shocked they are still in business. read more

I cannot in good faith recommend Governor's Park Dental Group. I'll start with the good: arranging an appointment was easy and service provided was acceptable. Now, the billing. Although the office confirms they take Cigna, be aware and watch out for billing. I've attached information to follow along. I went once for a standard cleaning (that is part of the benefit of paying for dental insurance - two free cleanings a year) and although I already researched the practice on Cigna, I get billed by this odd LLC - that is not in network and therefore incurs out of network cost, despite being the exact same address as Governor's Park Dental. I have to call insurance and the office, and they waive the cost - saying the dentist I saw was new the practice and hadn't been on their plan - just a one-off happenstance. Ok, fine. I go for my second visit, basic cleaning, get billed fine this time. So, I recommend my husband go there - see latest charge; the office did the same thing, and it's billed under the weird LLC. Additionally, the cost listed is for a full-mouth x-ray that my husband received and wasn't told there might be a cost because it's more than standard bite-wings. So, the full mouth x-ray isn't covered 100%, we weren't told about it, and then since it's billed out of network, there is a deductible on top of that. In one of my calls to the office, I asked why a full mouth x-ray was done and we weren't told it might not be covered and was told "this is done for all new patients", to which my response was "I just started coming there recently and didn't have the same procedure completed?" to which I got "Well, I can't speak on that". It only took me 2-3 calls each to the office and insurance to understand all of this and get it straightened out, which I finally have done. Going to the dentist should be pretty straightforward and shouldn't require all of this back and forth, and not knowing what you might be billed for. You can also see a previous dental office I went to before Governor's park and how much they billed for the exact same services received - why such a disparity in cost is beyond me. On Cigna's site they have reviews, and you can see the dentist I saw has a very low rating on prices (so does the other dentist in the practice on Cigna), to me, indicates this is not their first issue. read more

I went for a standard cleaning. At the beginning the hygienist asked me if I had any concerns about my dental health. I let her know that my wisdom teeth have been in and causing me some tenderness. She takes a panoramic x-ray of my teeth and then sits me down for my cleaning. About 30 minutes later, she lets me know that actually, the x-ray she had taken would not be covered by insurance and that it would be an additional $100. I was shocked and speechless that she wouldn't have told me about the additional charge up front. She then quickly whipped up some paperwork for me to sign that basically said that I was informed of and consented to the extra charges. Towards the end of the appointment, after a totally mediocre cleaning, she and the dentist rushed me into signing up for two additional appointments. Having read more reviews of experiences similar to mine I will absolutely be cancelling them and searching for a second opinion. This was probably the worst dental visit of my life and I would dissuade anyone from visiting here. read more

Can't recommend this dentist office. Only reason I went here initially was proximity, had good ratings, and it was in my network. Then out of NOWHERE entire staff changes, I'm told my scans for Invisalign just disappeared, never got a call about it by the way. I was waiting months to hear from the office and I had to call THEM to ask where my trays were when I'm paying $3,500 for literally nothing. Then I had to go in for a RESCAN and wait another few weeks. Staff as decent when they work with you, but that's when they work with you. After about 8 trays I noticed they weren't securing in the back, and had to wait a few weeks to get an appointment to fix it, and it was THEIR mistake. A bad scan, but the dentist made it seem like it was my fault for not wearing the trays like I was supposed to. Fast forward ANOTHER few weeks after another rescan and things are much better and they actually FIT, wild. But now, I lost some 'buttons' in the back that secure them down, and I was told before if that happens to just go in and they can replace them very easily. I was told this by MULTIPLE people while they were doing my teeth cleaning and check ups for the Invisalign. Well I call ahead so I can try and get an idea of when would be a good time that day, so I'm not waiting forever, and I'm told they can't see me for an entire WEEK. The front desk lady said the dentist wont be in until then. Really? Gone for an entire week... at a dentist office? I told her that the dental assistants or what ever usually do it because I've only ever seen the actual dentist come in like twice (even though I still pay like I'm seeing a real dentist) and she also said "yea they won't be in until Wednesday either. It's just hygienists. Excuse me? You guys are operating a dental office for an entire week with the lowest level of people in that field and charging people crazy money for it? And not even being able to provide full services? Once I'm finished with these trays, I'll be going to a new practice for SURE. read more

Coming in and seeing the staff change with out letting anyone know is very unprofessional and everything seems very disorganized with my Invisalign case that was supposedly lost and needed multiple scans which is frustrating because I paid a lot of money. Watch out Dr. Terry Brewick is a profit driven medical provider. Beware of the good reviews from friends. Read the one stars. My first clue was the opulent furnishing of his operation. Initial visit he is smooth, low key and expresses concern about the poor quality of prior dental work that he will correct. He recommended 3 teeth to be worked on a tooth to be extracted due to no offsetting molar. (TURNS OUT A SECOND OPINION INDICATES NONE OF IT IS NECESSARY)! When I went in for my filling replacement, 90% of the work was performed by an UNSUPERVISED dental assist. Based on my inquiries to the certifying and licensing board, dental assistants must be supervised when doing the work performed. Such was not the case. The dental assistant worked alone resulting in the procedure taking almost 90 minutes!!! My jaw was wedged open the entire time resulting in a great deal of jaw pain that lasted for 2 days. It is the opinion of another dentist the fillings did not need to be replaced. While the fillings were older there was no need to replace them since they were in good shape, not causing pain and there are no extenuating circumstances to require their replacement. BOTTOM LINE I had an unnecessary procedure performed by a dental assistant. When I received the bill I discovered he was effective at charging a premium for everything resulting my portion of the insurance to be larger than expected. The staff at this office will do anything to accommodate your schedule to see the dentist. Amazing communication with Nancy at the front desk and it's always a pleasure to see Dr. Brewick. They even let me schedule a 4 hour appointment to get a new crown and new filling placed in on the same day so I wouldn't miss that much work! It has been a few years since I left this shady practice. The office is not welcoming and all the creepy plants and vines crawling all over the office is offputting. I had recently moved to Denver and his office was close by. I had one cleaning here and then met the dentist. He sure liked to boast about all off the dental boards he sits on, etc ... as if I should be impressed. After looking in my mouth he claimed I needed a crown. (My gut told me to get a second opinion) but I went ahead and dud it a few weeks later. At that appointment he removed the old tooth and then left me with the assistant who proceeded to make the crown in office. I questioned that it wasnt be sent out to a lab to be made, and she said, "oh this is the exact same thing and it's all in one day and no temporary crowns. Ok so now I'm really upset that I didn't follow my initial gut feeling. She finished up, he took a quick peek and said looks good. And I left. Fast forward approx 4 years, that crap crown literally fell apart last week. Not just a crack, it's fell into a bunch of pieces. I went to my new dentist who I absolutely love and have been going to him now for several years. He laughed and said that is a crap crown and said he sees this alot. Bad dentist use bad products and do shoddy work. He also said the finish work that has to be done to the old tooth under the crown was very poor as well. Lesson learned, follow your gut. I should have left after the cleaning in the jungle of deadish plants and Christmas lights strung around like a circus. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

I experience a horrible case of word vomit when I'm nervous. And dentists petrify me for some reason. So, after being assured by a coworker that I'd be in good hands with Dr. Brewick at Governor's Park Dental Group, I went for it. Granted, I inadvertently insulted the dentist while trying to make a joke about his magnifying glasses, but all told, it went really well. The office is outrageously comfortable. I was offered you cucumber-infused or lemon-infused water while I waited. They have updated magazines. There are plants EVERYWHERE - real ones, even! They play big band music over the speakers. The front desk administrator, the hygienists...all super nice. And thorough. Holy smokes. Stephanie, the dental assistant, used digital x-rays instead of the old school kind, which is nice. She mentioned something about it being somewhat safer. Dr. Brewick takes his time to explain what he's doing and doesn't seem to mind the questions - or if he does, he fakes it really well. I go back tomorrow for a cleaning, actually. Oh, and the thank you note! I received it today. A very heartfelt note showed up in a manila envelope with a gift of dried split pea soup mix from the Women's Bean Project. So, yeah, the practice has an altruistic bend, too. Pretty awesome. And dude, who doesn't dig soup? Update: Got my teeth cleaned by Robin this morning. Not only was it the gentlest cleaning I've ever had, but I honestly almost fell asleep during the process, it was so non-invasive. She was very excited to tell me about an upcoming dental conference that she and several of her colleagues would be participating in next month. She also let me know that Colorado is one of two states that doesn't require continuing education for dental care professionals - she said the idea that there could be offices out there that do not promote further education is just scary, and I have to agree. I sorta just googled my way into finding a dentist that is near me. Fortunately, it was Dr. Brewick and Governor's Park Dental Group that I stumbled upon. I was new to Denver and having just finished with braces, I wanted to make sure I could maintain my annoyingly expensive smile. I couldn't be more pleased. The office - impeccable. The staff - convivial. The doctor - knowledgeable, with an affect that could put even the most nervous individual at ease. You may appreciate that a bit more when you're actually in the office. I mean, would you rather have someone in your mouth that comes off as Mr. T on 'roid rage or someone whose voice hits your ears like a lullaby? WHATCHOO TALKIN' BOUT FOO!? There's also the scheduling - super flexible. I am usually available only on Fridays and the staff was able to schedule me for ...well, let's not say how many consecutive Fridays my mouth needs, but yeah - they're just very accommodating. When I asked Dr. Brewick what paresthesia was, he explained it as permanent numbness of the lip and chin, and then went on to say, "You know, making it very difficult to apply your lipstick." I am a 31 year old gay man who is very open-minded, and decidedly does not wear lipstick. It's not that my masculinity is offended, it's that it wouldn't go with my handlebar mustache. And, more importantly, it's that Dr. Brewick's senses of professionalism and customer care are so warped. One visit, I told my hygienist that I felt good about my flossing regularity, telling her I floss more than most, and she immediately undermined me by telling me I wasn't doing a good job. Another visit, I was scolded by Dr. Brewick - "Ummm, so I seem to remember..." - for not having my wisdom teeth out, despite the fact that the oral surgeon who told me not to have them removed was the very same oral surgeon Dr. Brewick's office referred me to. Why do we do the things that we do? The only answer I can see coming from this office is: "Do you see all the fancy stuff we have sitting around in our office? Isn't it so fancy? It's because we're fancy! And it's your money that makes us so fancy! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" Apparently, I need to be saving my pennies for Loreal's newest line, so I strongly advise: avoid this office! read more

At first walking in I was pretty hesitant. The office is on the first floor of a brick house with carpet, plants and (fake) candles everywhere. But after sitting down and listening to the show tune music- I realized it's one of the things that makes it memorable! Every step of the way there was someone there ready to explain what was going on -during the cleaning or check up. They were also telling me about the latest conference they went to or continuing education they were about to receive. Super comforting! Couple of weeks after my original appointment I received a thank you letter and a present in the mail! The present was actually also a donation on the dental groups part to the Women's Bean Project. I was new to Denver and needed a new dentist. I was having a lot of pain in my tooth and needed to see someone ASAP. This place had great reviews so I called them and they were able to get me in the next morning. The office is...interesting. Seemed like I was in someone's home and not in a dentist office. The front office girls and the assistant who took me back were nothing but pleasant and professional. I told them about my issue and the assistant took some x-rays. Then Dr. Terry came in, he was nice enough but just a little unprofessional. He kept going on and on about all his degrees and certifications and I just wanted to say "Good for you, but can you please help me?" He finally started looking at my X-rays and nonchalantly told me I had six cavities. SIX! I was flabbergasted. He said it's likely my pain is coming from one of those cavities (and to his credit, he was right about that ONE cavity). I ended up going back in for a cleaning but not a filling since I wanted a second opinion about the cavity. The cleaning itself was the most underwhelming cleaning- I felt like I just had my teeth brushed and that's all. I finally made another appointment with another Dentist a month later since I was still having that pain in that tooth. This dentist told me I only had one cavity and he was certain that was the reason behind my pain. I then had a cleaning done (which the dental hygienist was shocked when I told her I had just had one done a month ago since she told me I had a lot of plaque build-up). They also filled my cavity which the dentist suspected was the root of my pain- and im glad to say- 3 months later I am pain-free and happily have a dentist who I LOVE. The best dentist's office I've ever been too. Everybody was EXTREMELY caring and helpful. The girls at the front desk are incredibly wonderful and helped me work through and find my insurance information. The hygienist was very nice and the best part: they wouldn't do an xray that my insurance wouldn't pay for. They made adjustments so that I didn't have to pay for it - how thoughtful. EVERYONE is extremely friendly and put me at ease right away. Terry has such a calm and pleasant personality that makes my visits stress-free. Yesterday I went in for a cleaning since my dental coverage is running out next week. They told me I had 2 cavities that needed filling. This is hands down the BEST dentist I have ever been to. From the moment I booked my appointment the staff was incredibly friendly and informative. The gal on the phone got me in almost immediately and collected all my information on the telephone so as to save time once I arrived to the office. After arriving at the office I couldn't help but notice how much time and effort Dr. Brewick has put into making you feel comfortable and welcome the second you walk in the door. Coffee and water were proffered and the magazine selection was up to date and interesting. The assistant that took me back and began the x-rays and the likes was very friendly and couldn't have been more informative about all the processes. The whole way through, actually, everyone always tells you what they're doing to your face, why they're doing it and how much it'll cost you. However they did so without giving off the impression of being cheap, just informative. After the x-rays Dr. Brewick came in and this guy really knows his shit and has a chair side manner that would make other dentists self conscious. He goes over the pictures with you and tells you all about everything wrong with your chompers and everything right! After the cleaning (also pretty awesome!) you get to settle up at the front and despite the fact you are parting with your hard earned money they make you feel really good about it and like you are indeed getting your money's worth. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Brewick for at least 6 years now and am always impressed by the environment, attention to detail and friendliness of the staff. This is not the 'sterile' feeling cliche of a dentist office but a very calming and cozy atmosphere in a beautiful old building. Lush greenery, carefully arranged antiques in the sitting room and WWII era oldies in the background, amidst state-of-the-art equipment you know you are in good hands and will be as relaxed as one can be at a dentist's office. read more

This was my first time going to this office and I don't have insurance currently.. Moved here from another state so I don't really know much about who the best doctors are. I spent a good two hours calling around to dental offices in the area to inquire about pricing and to get a general feel for the office. Whether it's right or not, I judge a place by it's receptionist because she/he is the face of the establishment. Well, Rhiannon (sp?) was such a real, conscientious, and patient person I decided no matter the cost, I should go to this office because they'll treat me like a human and not just another number to pad their pockets. The office is in an historic building that's decorated beautifully with classical music playing to soothe those like me that tend to get a little freaked out by dental work. The dental assistant was very kind and not pushy at all when I told her I didn't want a full exam today, just the chipped tooth fixed. And the dentist himself was so sweet and gracious, making me feel welcome and relaxed. Considering the filling needed and lack of insurance on my part, I was extremely happy with the price of the visit. I'm a teacher, so definitely not rolling in the dough! This was affordable and so positive! The only possible negative I can see is that Dr. Brewick's new Dentist is a recent grad of FSU.... I love the location and the dental care I received was good but I can't go higher than three stars because the front desk failed to pre-authorize my insurance information. I gave it to them before I filled out my new patient paperwork, so there was time. I even mentioned that I didn't hear about them from my insurance. In the end I had to pay out of pocket. Dr. Hatzidakis is terrific. After a lifetime of regular dental care, I found myself in the gig economy with no insurance. Without regular cleanings and check ups, my teeth and gums were not as healthy as they could be. Still, I avoided the dentist until I started dreaming that my teeth were falling out randomly, in public, with people watching!! Feeling doomed to a toothless future with ill fitting dentures and oozing goop at the corners of my mouth, I met my dream dentist, Dr Melissa Hatzidakis. She is the bomb!! Warm and welcoming, Dr H's first question was to ask how I felt about my teeth. It so happens I have a gap and I love it, but no dentist had ever used dental speak to appreciate my gap. As for my teeth, one extraction and a deep cleaning later, no more bad dreams. My teeth are visibly and discernibly healthier. My experience with Governors Park Dental Group has been great. The offices are located in what once was the Embassy of the Dominican Republic, a beautiful turn of the century building, on 9th Avenue. Parking is easy, the people are helpful and friendly (even in the face of painfully tedious dental insurance administrivia), and the dental hygiene schwag is perfect for my gym and travel bag. Went to this office after a couple of years avoiding the dentist due to a horrible experience at a Comfort Dental. This place is so welcoming, and the staff are even better. Christina, Terry, Robbie and the front office staff were so knowledgeable, had wonderful chair-side manner and I felt so well taken care of. Not to mention it's a 7 minute walk from my apartment.
