My insurance had changed so I needed a new dentist. . This must be a teaching facUlithi because the lady doing my X-rays took an hour instead of 10 minutes .She couldn't work the computer or the machine. then I ended up with burns on my chest ( the next day)from the X-rays because an apron wasn't used. My cleaning was a joke. This hygenetist did a terrible job on cleaning. She fumbled around for 10-15 minutes and called that a cleaning. A real cleaning takes 45 minutes and your teeth are smooth.She also kept over flowing me with water, thought I was gonna drowned!!!The dentist was nice but that was it!!! read more

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff! Every last person there. Never encountered such nice helpful people in a dentist office. My dentist of choice is Dr Marty. I remember when I first came there I was skeptical and scared because of the experiences I had in the past with other dentist. Dr. Marty was kind gentle friendly thoroughly explained everything and just had great "bedside manner's". He answered all of my questions. I ended up bringing my children here as well and referred my sister. I've seen 1 other dentist before at this Santee location who was definitely friendly knowledgeable and ready to help me out, however I chose Dr Marty and didn't want to see anyone new. My point being the other dentist there are good too. I would definitely recommend Dental express! more specifically I'd recommend the Santee location dental express. I broke my molar tooth on Saturday and I was in a little pain and made an appointment on their website for Dr. Marty now I have never come on a Tuesday and now it's his official day off for my dentist. Which on their website it does not say that but let me make an appointment with him. So, I was unaware and went into the appointment thinking I was going to see Dr. Marty. While I was in the chair waiting for the doctor the RDA was nice and so professional with his work talking to me, making jokes making me comfortable now my appointment was at 10:00 am which I believed was with Dr. Marty to my surprise it was not it actually ended up being Dr. Saeed, which did not even introduce himself until 10:45 am. The RDA tried to make small talk to distract me but it was not really working because I had to get to work at 12 and had a orthodontist appointment to put my braces back on from the tooth I chipped. When Dr. Saeed came in said his name looked at my mouth and said ok let's fix it. It will be an hour in a half to do it. I said ok, so I call my orthodontist that I can't make my 11:30 am appointment if I can switch it. So they did, yet the doctor numbed me up and said he would be back in 10 min. From the time of numbing to the time he came back took 30 min more instead of the 10 min. When he arrived he was trying to work fast with my tooth to fix it and fill it. Which I noticed many mistakes, for one he dropped a wedge in my mouth and it went to the back of my throat not because it was an accident but because he was rushing due to being behind. He tried to fish it out couldn't. The assistant tried to suck it out with the tube and the look in their face was that of a scared person. When I finally tired to clear my throat to spit it out I finally was able to do it. Then he kept going fast and trying to finish his job. Did not do a good job at all. He did a filling within 15 min and I was out by 11:30 when my appointment was at 10:00am an hour in a half later I was out. I moved my whole schedule was late to work due to the way he took his time this would never happen with Dr. Marty I have never in my 5 years going to Dr. Marty have I eve felt the disrespect or felt as if I was just a dollar sign to someone. Dr. Marty is the most amazing dentist if you can make an appointment with him. Please do because he is by far the best dentist in San Diego I have had. Stay away from Dr. Saeed if you can. I have never been this disappointed in my life and it puts a bad rep on a very well respect dentist as Dr. Marty. I normally do not write this but, In honesty something needs to be done about this. I have been coming to this location since they opened in Santee, and before that was a patient at their Clairemont Mesa location (which, btw- is also deserving of a 5 star rating) Dental Express is hands down the best dentist office(s) I have ever been to- and here are the reasons why: The office is meticulously clean, and provides a soothing atmosphere. The entire staff from the Front Office, the dental assistant Joanna, and the hygienists Stephanie & the new gal I had today are professional & welcoming, they take the time to get to know you. I used to have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist, but due to my positive experiences here it's no longer an issue. Cleanings are soooo gentle & thorough! I also had some fllings and a crown done and it was NEVER uncomfortable or painful, which was a surprise to me- I always thought that dentistry was just naturally supposed to be a pain. They accept DentiCal! And if you do have to pay out of pocket for any services not covered under insurance, their prices are fair. Also they're open on Saturdays and it's fairly easy to get appointments. The dentist (Dr. Marty) is friendly, skilled, ethical & honest. I trust his judgement wholeheartedly. I believe that he cares about the patient's dental health & will make recommendations for treatment based on a persons needs, and NOT his bottom line. The approach here is conservative care, and they will guide you towards what is necessary vs other offices where I have experienced high pressure sales tactics & borderline fear mongering for treatment/services not covered under insurance, or treatment that isn't really needed or can be done in other more cost effective ways. After weeks of researching I decided to go check out Dental Express. I had not seen a dentist in 4 years, so I was a little nervous. That all went away as as soon as I walked in the building. You can't find too many dental offices that not only take medi-cal but are clean and have great staff. Stephanie the X-ray technician was a great start once I got to the back, then Dr.Marty was knowledgeable (looks very young) but trustworthy and then Joanna who spoke to me about cost for what needed to be done. Didn't feel like they were forcing anything on me but wanted me to make good decisions for my mouth and overall health. I managed to get myself there and keep my appointment, and I am so glad I did. Being at the dentist for the first time is 10 years, and I was very comfortable & welcomed. Dr. Martin told me about the work needed, and after everyone left the room I had a panic attack & started crying. He later came back and asked if I wanted to do a deep cleaning while being there, & noticed I was upset and told me not to worry about it and to do it a later time. I got a text to confirm an appointment I never made for the 30th of march, I'd been to the Point Loma location but switched dentists almost two years ago. The form asked for my social and a lot of other personal info I've never been asked for when filling out forms for a dental appointment. I've tried to call multiple times throughout the day (during business hours) over the past few days to cancel this supposed appointment but the calls always failed but still got another text telling me there would be a cancellation fee. This office was recommended by my spouse who cannot say enough good words about Dr Marty. I have nothing to say about the service as I didn't make it passed the reception desk. I arrive 15 minutes early as I was a new patient. Every form is electronic so the receptionist gave me an IPad to complete the forms. The IPad would not save my forms. I took it to the receptionist and she somehow got it to work. 30 minutes later than my appointment I was still waiting. Also, the people at the front desk were speaking Spanish amongst themselves. If you live in San Diego chances are pretty good that most people know basic Spanish. Not only was it rude the conversation was completely unprofessional. When I went to the receptionist I said I suppose I will reschedule since they are clearly to busy to see me at my allotted time. She asked what time works for you. I said very snarky "You pick a time when I can actually be seen." She rebooked my appointment but I will go back to my former dentist before I set foot in this place. If this is how unprofessional the staff is then I don't have high hopes for the hygienist or the dentist. read more

Well I finally received my crown. People do not go to this place. Don't be fooled by the 1001 xrays they take of your in order to make you a virtual reality character. VERY BAD Experience. The Doctor has his head up his ass and seemed aloof most of the time. Bad workmanship, glad the final product was solid. They can glue a crown on eventually. Thank god they outsource their casting. Totally unprofessional and robotic. Poor listeners, the staff had talking points with little skill observed. Doctor made the mistake of trying to drill out an already filled tooth, then tried to play it off. Didn't like impersonal and robotic approach coupled with a lack of patience and tack. I won't be back! I read the post review comments from the manager on damage control. I like the comment about it not being the typical experience people report having. Must be me and not your poorly trained people skills staff. It only takes once for me not to come back. You guys should put yourself in check as I am in the healthcare field and know what is professional and good communication is key to success. You guys were horrible! read more

So the day before xmas eve my bottom left jaw started killing me and I thought it was time to get my wisdom teeth checked out. So nervous but was able to get in for an apt that Friday. I went in and had X-rays & my teeth cleaning since my insurance covered it. Dr Sahil Amin showed me my X-rays and suggested we get out all three of my wisdom teeth at once just to get it over with. I was honest about being very nervous as I've never had any sort of surgery before. He explained the procedure and eased my nerves. Day of I was still extremely nervous even after taking a Valium that was prescribed. He recommend I take another and they had a blanket for me and put me on oxygen for a bit before the laughing gas. When going through what to expect after the procedure and possible risks I started having a bit of a panic attack. Dr Sahil Amin was so quick to calm me down, got me a tissue & grabbed my husband so he could hold my hand while they prepped me for the extraction. He was so fast with the local numbing stuff. He turned the gas up and him & his assistant got started. He adjusted the gas based on how I was feeling. During the extractions we realized I wasn't fully numb in a tiny place (bad pain when they rinsed even though I couldn't feel anything else) such a surprise to us all but he quickly added more numbing stuff. They got my three wisdom teeth out so quickly! Unfortunately they had to separate two of my teeth before removing them because they were impacted to badly, but the third came out super smoothly. They even took an X-ray to make sure they had fully removed the tooth which made me happy knowing they were being very careful. I had to have three stitches but then I was finished. Prep time took longer than the extractions itself which I really appreciated and during the whole thing he knew how nervous I was and kept saying how great I was doing! I felt very heard & cared for the entire process and his confidence was very comforting. I virtually had no pain the next day or today (2 days after the procedure) Very little swelling too. I would highly recommend the staff at dental express especially dr Sahil Amin!! read more
