My choice of pain meds when needed was, Advil Dual..you can find them on Amazon. They reacted better to my body and not make me nauseous or dizzy. Otherwise everything else is great. Location: the clinic is along Woodhaven Blvd. The clinic is huge and clean. I felt like this is new facility cause its very clean and well maintained. I got street parking cause there is a lot of residential areas nearby. Checkin: You have to check in on the desk, I made apppointment by phone so it was easy to checkin. I have to wait for like an hour to be called for my procedure. Employee: Dr. Cardo is very professional, explains well the condition and treatments. He will show you to the monitor the teeth that has problem, the treatment and the after care. Again, I didn't experience any pain during procedure which is great. The employees are well known and informative about the case. They will give you health teaching before you leave. My only concern is that during your procedure the door is widely open, so people might see what they are doing to your mouth. I'm not sure if that's the protocol on the clinic but it's not bad to have a little privacy specially with dental procedures. Definitely will come back here for future treatments! She implied that my appointment had been deleted by someone else and given away. I was then given a new appointment weeks away. When I came to that appointment with a referral for a wisdom tooth extraction that is actively leaking pus, I was sent home and told to wait a month for my appointment and that I would be put on a waitlist. It has been a couple weeks, and my mouth is now swollen on one side and leaking more pus. Terrible customer service, I can't rate the care because I have not experienced any, and I can't afford to go to a new office and repay all of the copays and get pictures redone. If I pass from sepsis due to my infected wisdom tooth/gum, this is the place to blame. NO antibiotics given eventhough I was leaking pus that smells like poop on the day I came in for my assessment. Doctor told me I only need to rinse with salt water.

I finally decided to schedule a consultation, and the process was very easy. The receptionist took my insurance information over the phone and scheduled me for the next available appointment. On the day of my visit, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. They took a panoramic X-ray and thoroughly explained the implant procedure, what to expect during surgery, the healing process, and the long-term benefits of replacing the missing tooth. Since I already know that missing a tooth can cause surrounding teeth to shift, I appreciated how informative they were about preventing future dental issues. I was also very upfront about being nervous. I've had root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, fillings, and other dental procedures over the years, and dental work has always made me anxious. The staff was kind, patient, and reassuring, even though this visit was only a consultation. They explained that local anesthesia would be included with the procedure, while IV sedation would be an additional out-of-pocket expense since insurance doesn't cover it. Before I left, the secretary came over to my chair to discuss my insurance benefits. She explained that my primary insurance would cover 50% and my secondary insurance would cover the remaining 50%, which led me to believe the procedure would essentially be covered in full, aside from any non-covered expenses like sedation. Because of that, I felt comfortable waiting for the prior authorizations before making my final decision. A short time later, I received an email from my primary insurance showing what they approved, and it listed that I would still be responsible for $1,117.50. I wasn't overly concerned at first because I assumed my secondary insurance authorization was still being processed and would cover the remaining balance, just as I had been told during my consultation. When I called the office to ask about the secondary insurance authorization, I was surprised to learn it had never been submitted. Instead of acknowledging the oversight or apologizing for the delay, I was simply told they would process it and that it would take about two more weeks. That was disappointing because I had specifically explained that I wasn't comfortable scheduling surgery until I knew exactly what my financial responsibility would be. I don't think patients should have to call back to make sure paperwork that was promised is actually being completed. At this point, I still won't schedule the implant until I know exactly what my out-of-pocket costs will be. Overall, my consultation experience was excellent. The oral surgeon and staff I interacted with during my visit were professional, informative, compassionate, and made me feel at ease. My only complaint is the lack of follow-through with my insurance paperwork, which unfortunately delayed my treatment. I hope this was simply an isolated oversight because my experience in the office itself was otherwise very positive.

My routine cleaning and X-rays in June revealed a cracked infected root in a very old root canal that would need to be extracted and prepped for an implant. I was able to get a quick appointment, the office staff was very helpful. As I said I have not been there in ten years and Dr Weitzman greeted me with a big Hello and smile and we both acknowledged our matching gray hair. He does good technical work. The office vibe is kind and personable. His son went to dental school and joined the family business. I highly recommend them. He is not a chain or franchise like so many other healthcare providers today. Support your local mom and pop dentists and doctors, for independent healthcare.

January 2025 I entered my information on Flushing Oral Surgery's website to schedule an appointment. Lin responded and scheduled me for the first week of March. March 2025 The day before my appointment with Dr. Li, I asked the first oral surgeon's office to email me the panoramic x-ray so I could forward it to Lin. I met with Dr. Li for a second opinion on my wisdom tooth extraction. I asked thorough questions to compare notes. At the time, I trusted Dr. Li and felt confident in his care. Dr. Li recommended the bone graft, and the dental assistant mentioned the out-of-pocket cost. He gave me pamphlets and pre-operative instructions. I called my dental insurance to expedite the pre-authorization and received approval two days later. I emailed the approval letter to Lin. Flushing Oral Surgery called to move up my surgery, which was originally scheduled for the last week of March. My mom accompanied me to my surgery today. After I informed the office of this, they said they would resend it before closing. I checked with my insurance again the next day, and insurance still had no record of receiving anything. This caused unnecessary delay in my treatment and wasted several weeks of my time. The most concerning part was the lack of clear communication and the inability to provide proof of submission while repeatedly telling me it had been submitted. For patients in New York who experience similar issues with a dentist or dental office, complaints about professional misconduct can be filed with the New York State Education Department Office of Professional Discipline, also known as NYSED OPD (download complaint form through their website). NYC 311 can also direct patients to the appropriate complaint process. Update: Based on my conversation with your office this morning, they now stated that the insurance request was submitted on 05/26 and said they would send me a screenshot showing that it was sent. I had one wisdom tooth that has been bothering me on and off for the past couple months where I was taking antibiotics on a monthly basis. I finally realized ok addie- it's time to get these babies out. I called to make an appt and the front desk was very helpful. She had told her I have an infected wisdom tooth and wanted to get it checked out and pulled. She told me that if it is infected- I should come in ASAP to get it pulled and offered me an appt the next day but I unfortunately I was not able to get out of work. I made an appt and surprisingly they took my dental insurance cause I once heard that dental insurances usually does not cover wisdom teeth removals. She informed me not to eat or drink anything 6 hours prior coming in in case I needed iv sedation and to bring someone with me. I went in by 9am today and I was very impressed with the office. It was big, clean, modern, spacey and bright. It kinda took the edge of "oral surgeons office." I registered and I was called in a span of 10 minutes. They first got an panoramic xray of my teeth so see exactly where my wisdom teeth were located on what angle etc. Then I was placed in a room with my xray on the computer. Dr. Huang came in maybe 5 minutes later and introduced herself. She explained everything to me including the fact that my bottom teeth were placed right next to a nerve and embedded into a bone so she would have to shave some of the bone in order to get my teeth out. It sounds really scary and yes I was really nervous and anxious but she made sure she explained the risks and also reassured me as well. She was confident which I liked a lot. I was initially going to get only one tooth out- the impacted one but she explained how the other teeth is going to grow longer if I don't remove the rest. It may not bother me now but sooner or later it might. I agreed to get all 4 removed and opted for iv sedation. Two assistants came in and took my blood pressure, O2, put ekg stickers on me, gave me an oxygen cannula and the doctor came in. She found my vein pretty easily despite me being super dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink anything. She explained that in 30 seconds or less I would start to feel sleepy. I was silently counting to myself and after 9? I don't remember anything. I woke up which seemed like 5 minutes later with gauze in my mouth. The nurse gave me discharge information and some extra gauze so I can change it every 45 mins. Also some ice packs for the swelling. My antibiotic and pain med was sent electronically to the pharmacy so I went ahead and picked up my meds. Right now I'm in pain but that is expected since I took out all 4 at once. It's bearable with ibuprofen. I also bought a gel from her office called "sock it" but didn't use it yet. I highly highly recommend if you need any work done. She is very calm and professional. Seems very well educated as well. I would come back if I need any extensive dental work done.

Dr. Huang has an amazing upbeat personality, is very kind and I appreciated the fact that I was never lectured nor reprimanded. After telling me the honest status of each of my wisdom teeth she gave me the option to choose which to take out with absolutely no pressure on her end. We both agreed I should just take out all four under IV sedation. The biller came in a few minutes after to discuss my prices as Dr. Huang is not in network with my insurance. Thankfully, the out of pocket price was much lower than I expected and I appreciated their break down of the prices. The two assistants who prepped me were also very kind. The assistant with glasses inserted the needle in my arm with care and I especially adored the assistant who spoke Korean! So so lovely, gentle, and exudes calmness. I was out within seconds, woke up soon after with no pain and minimal swelling and was sent on my way with the help of my husband. I didn't even need ice packs! I took the prescribed ibrupofen to help with the little soreness and less than 24 hours later, I feel perfectly fine with absolute no swelling. I really enjoyed my visit, I wish she could be my regular doctor!
