Since restrictions have eased I have been back to the Queens location twice, once for Checkup, which went great, and more recently for a teensy chip that I wanted Dr. Figueroa's opinion on. All precautions taken, they are very, very careful with every aspect of patient care. Luckily, Dr. Figueroa was able to make sure I was looking good, feeling great, and my tooth was healthy and stable with her gentle and skillful touch on my chip, which was right in front, and would be visible when I smile. As usual, outstanding service and the best care, and I have never been made to feel like just an opportunity to make a lot of money. I have had many changes in insurance over the years, and have always felt my best interests have been kept in mind by the doctor and the staff. Front desk and dental assistants always happy to see us, and really go a long way to making you feel less anxious about dental procedures and cost. If you are looking for excellence this is your dental clinic. Went twice already, one for a cleaning with Angela and another time to get some fillings with Dr. Kaufman, and I can't be happier. They explained the procedures with detail and took very good care of me. The staff is very nice and sweet and the office is so clean and neat it makes you feel you are at the right place just when you come in. Everything there is new, specially the equipment. I feel they are money hungry .... I had a procedure done and had everything pre approved with my insurance . The day of the procedure ( getting 4 wisdom teeth pulled) the receptionist billed me a mysterious extra $1,000 and could not give me an explanation on where the cost was coming from. I was in so much pain after the procedure and i was literally talking to a wall trying to get clarity . I paid the $1,000 on my credit card because I just wanted to go home . I then spent 3 months fighting to get my money back . ( because they were wrong for billing me that $1,000 out of pocket expense ) Then suddenly pre pandemic , they were suggesting implants and stressing how I needed them ASAP ( a $15,000 procedure ) I got a second opinion and was told I was fine . Apparently someone added in my chart I was feeling discomfort which is a lie . I never had any I have to question their intentions and integrity ****update :i called for a cleaning appointment on 7/6/21 long after this incident as the previous dentists were no longer there and they refused to give me an appointment for a simple cleaning due to this review !!!! Rarely write reviews but this one is a must. I went to the Rego Park office a couple of years ago and the experience was very nice. Clean space, nice people and a very good dentist. I had to remove two wisdom teeth and they referred me to their midtown office. I was totally freaked out and scared of the procedure, but I kid you not, the experience was so awesome! They gassed the f$&@ out of me and the surgeon was like a magician! Boom boom boom and you are down two teeth! Cool! I thought she is just checking things out when in fact she just removed two teeth from my jaw. I didn't feel anything at all, it was super quick and healed very nicely. I was like, ok, I have two more wisdom teeth left, we should do it again sometime soon!:) Then I moved out of the neighborhood and use other dentists... I wish i hadn't. The last dude was a butcher. So I finally dragged myself back to Presidental Rego Park office today to make an appointment. I was lucky and they hooked me up right there. Now, HUGE THANK YOU to Dr Brad Mclaughlin! What an awesome guy! Super light hands, I didn't feel a thing! He went above and beyond, made me feel super comfortable, and did an AWESOME JOB! So lucky to find this dentist, I am forever loyal and he is my go to for the rest of my life! Hope he wont move anywhere from NYC because I would have to relocate as well and that would not be ideal:) He is gold, do yourself a favor and go see him next time. Just had another tooth pulled by Dr. Marcello Guglielmi and believe me when I tell you, it was painless!!! I've always hated going to the dentist (which is why I've had to have teeth pulled now) so I only went when in pain. I have alot of work to be done but knowing this spectacularly talented and funny surgeon is on the case, I am totally good with that! The staff is welcoming and professional and so very nice (special thumbs up to Carlos)! The waiting room is very clean and comfortable. You won't find a more caring staff and dental group. Money hungry dental services. I asked for estimate of treatment on the phone. They could not say anything unless i schedule an appoitment. I depisited $50 initiall fee and one day visited the office before my schedule appoitment. I show graph of charges from another dentist and then they admit that they are more expensive. When i cancekked my appoitment they keep lyibg that they refund me my $50 however it was a lie. They did not refund me anything i had to callmy bank and dispiute this charge. Overall the place looked nice and new, the only star I want give to the FRONT DESK, because they were the only nice thing about the whole experience. I've had a terrible experience with doctor Mack who works on Thursday's!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! He was fixing some small cavities on my front teeth, I paid $250for each tooth, so together they charged me $750 for fixing small cavities! I wish he never touched my teeth! Right after the visit, when I came back home, one of my front teeth broke!!! I call them, took a cab and went to the office. He fixed my tooth but he didn't polish it well, so in 2 weeks my tooth was cracked AGAIN and then a day later another tooth cracked. I ended up paying another 1000$ to other doctor for fixing my teeth. So, I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. read more

1 star each for a clean nice location/convenience for me/a passable doc that performed on me that day. However, I will not be heading back. Since it was my first time in their facility, had to go thru the same xray and all those unnecessary & numerous pics that will no doubt get them a bill over $1400 thru my PPO insurance of course. So whatever my insurance will pay all anyway since we have annual cleanings and all that. The only reason I went was because I was in the area and I didn't have to travel far. Just a cleaning but they were ok attentive I would say but it was the after that was a bit interesting. I have insurance thru my employer in all the locations that I visited so I know what kind of charges might be imposed on me before I go. After cleaning, they gave some sort of next visit kind sort of paperwork to sign, sort of future work to be done & the charges that you are signing for the next time you visit. I have been to many locations in Manhattan and other Queens locations, whatever or no matter how many filings I might be doing are included in my ppo, and they are called preventive care I believe and all I had/have to pay would always be a $50 copay no matter how many I would be doing. They gave me a preliminary charge I guess you can call it and charges of the patient's responsibility that I should be expecting was 200 something, below 300. I thought to myself ??? Right there, I know this is an interesting place. Make sure you check w/your insurance provider for charges before heading to this place or they will try to charge extra out of you. Not totally honest like the numerous places I have been to. Otherwise, it is a spotlessly clean, modern & spacious location but other than that I really wouldn't recommend it as there are tons of great dental places around. read more

FIND A BETTER DENTIST! - 00 Stars! Warning - Doctor Figueroa is a kind woman but she is typically in a rush & she does not have any regard for a patients INVESTMENT into their smile. I completed an Invisalign treatment 10 years ago. (with a different dentist) I came to her looking for an impression for a retainer as my bottom teeth were starting to press behind my top row over the years. WITHOUT PERMISSION or NOTICE she shaved off enamel from the back of my top row of teeth to assist with the uncomfortable bite. For all of those other innocent patients - NEVER EVER let any dentist VIOLATE your investment. Shaving your teeth down impacts the integrity of your enamel. Although I take great care of my teeth I now have a translucent enamel since she thinned the bottom of my front two teeth again WITHOUT PERMISSION OR NOTICE. $6,000.00 of an investment and her lack of concern is outrageous. After that, she performed an impression for a retainer costing me $300 and never called back with results, apparently after 1 month they can't assist you further with a refund or provide the services you paid for. They are absolute crooks! Prior to that violation - She cracked a back molar replacing an old filling which was a rushed the job if you asked me. I felt my took crack in the chair & came back for a follow up explaining my newly created sensitivity & visible crack in which she did nothing fix. However she did offer further services to perform other unnecessary work. I will NEVER recommend this location or Dentist. In fact, this place has taught me a very valuable lesson. - NEVER trust any Dentist.. - NEVER let them grab any tools and place them in your mouth without knowing what they are holding. - NEVER go to PRESIDENTAL CARE. read more

I was a patient for presidenta care for 2 years. In my last visit they booked me twice for the follow up in 6 months. When they called first it was right after quarentine and it was the appointment that I didn't make. So I said I didn't feel comfortable going for a check up with covid so recently. It was last year. I didn't book another check up bc I was waiting to see how I goes. But the booked me and when I cancel saying that a haven't booked they sent me a letter that I WAS NO LONGER WELCOME, THEY DIDNT WANT TI HAVE ME AS A PATIENT. How dare them??? I just finish bunch of works from Presidental care in the last few weeks. This place is as good as it get when it comes to make you feel comfortable and stress free. The staffs are extremely friendly, the dental chair has a massage function to help me reduce any tension. It even has a children playing area, so my daughter can have fun while she and my wife had to wait for me.. All those combine is just make the experience so much better compare to other dental office Let me start by saying that I'm not a fan when it comes to doing dental work and most of the time I will try to avoid it as much as I can, so for me to say feeling comfortable is the highest praise I can give to a dentist and I'm not joking!! Dr. Judith Kaufman did and amazing job on me. My wife and my daughter couldn't believe my front teeth transformation after I show it to them. I would not suggest anyone of color go to Presidental Care Dr. Jessica Figuroroa's office on Queens Blvd in Rego Park or Downtown NYC. During Covid, I was treated like a slave. It was so disrespectful, I received a certified letter not to come back to their Rego Park office because I walked out of the office during an appointment I was very uncomfortable with. I went for regular cleaning, I've been going here for years and due to covid, I felt they would understand to make their patients feel comfortable. Some unknown hygenist with no mask on, wanted to give me a deep cleaning with no form of anesthesia, and I did not come there for that on that day but why would they want to do that to me, they know my history and that I'm sensitive to pain. I dropped a ton of money in this office over the years. I got veneers, deep cleanings, and all kinds of work but they completely told me to not come back to their office ever again due to their negligence during Covid. They did abide by the covid restrictions nor did they care about my safety or how I felt about this unknown hygienist working in my mouth with no pain killer. Heck no! - At the last minute before my appointment in December 2018 and over a phone call, Presidental Care office changed their diagnosis and canceled my appointment for procedure mentioned in the treatment plan since July 2018. - Very poor handling of treatment plans and insurance claims. - Overcharge the patient and insurance. In my case, I paid upfront for services and later the insurance covered my claim, but Presidental Care was very resistant to refund back overpaid amount. - In reality, refund was not processed in a timely manner and required multiple calls from me, call from my insurance company and in person meeting with Presidental Care office. read more

I've been going to Presidental Care for about a year now, after my old dentist retired. My experiences there have been nothing but positive. First with Dr. Cummings (who has since moved away), and now with Dr. Shapiro, who I went to see for the first time just last week. She was very professional, thorough, and kind. I know I will be needing a crown on one of my back molars in the coming months, and I have the utmost confidence that it will get done right with Dr Shapiro, so I need to look no further for a good and honest dentist.
