They will check your insurance to ensure you are getting what you paid for and will inform you of any additional charges. I had dental services in 2011 - broken tooth extraction. At that time theyalso placed a bone graft. My dental insurance denied the bone graft for no prior authorization. When I called about it I was told that they did not have enough time to get the prior authorization prior to my procedure and they would not do an appeal to my insurance company. I refused to pay it. 14 years later they have turned me over to collections. I have had no communication from them since 2011. I advised the young lady at the collection agency - Syncon - that I would not be paying this and that Dentfirst is breaking the law as the statute of limitations have expired - it's 6 years in Georgia. Contact me again and you'll be talking to my attorney. Oh and instead of collection agency calling me they called my 71 year old brother who has Parkinson's and was very upset by the call. read more

On April 2, 2024, Dentfirst of McDonough demanded that I pay for the services rendered that day in the amount of $130.75 despite me asking them to bill my dental insurance, Aetna, first as it will tell them how much I owe otherwise they will have to refund me the difference. Aetna paid them on 4/16/24 and my share was only $59.75 which means they overcharged me $71.00. When Desiree of Aetna called them on 4/25/24 to ask the status of my refund, Jaena of Dentfirst told her that it could take up to 30 days after payment receipt to get my refund. I called Dentfirst on 5/21/24 and Delia of Dentfirst told me that there was no memo about a refund. When I asked for her name for my record, she suddenly became rough and accused me of screaming at her. I had Aetna rep named Monique called them the next day and she talked to Jaena. Monique was asked for a copy of the EOB for verification and she was told that a person named Ashley was gonna call me for update. Nobody have called me and so I asked Aetna rep named Kemari to follow-up on my refund. Kemari told me that he had a hard time contacting them and he was handed to several people before finally being asked again to provide a copy of the EOP (Evidence of payment) for verification. When I told him that Monique already provided them with EOB, Kemari tried to call them back several times so we can make a 3 way call but they refused to take his call. At one point when they found out who was calling, they hanged up on him. Well Dentfirst, one way or another, you will have to refund me that overcharge. This review/complain will be submitted to the BBB for a starter. I don't know what's in your head. Even though we already showed you a copy of my Evidence of Coverage detailing how my insurance works you still insist on charging us an amount that you said my insurance would not pay during my wife's appointment. That's a big lie because Aetna was already talking to you on the phone explaining it directly to you at the time. We had no choice but to cancel and now my wife has a new dentist. I like my dentist and my hygenist, but I guess I have to cancel the rest of my appointments and find another dental provider. This is not over! read more

I was excited to finally find a Dental Office for my family. My son's appointment was first. We were advised that he needed a deep cleaning and will be done in 3 stages. They scheduled him for the next day to do the 1st stage. After that his next appointment is 12 weeks out! This was very discouraging as they were not forthcoming on letting us know how over booked they were. I'm told that is the next available appointment only afterwards. If known, I would have found another Dentistry office that is able to complete a job in a timely manner. read more

I was referred here from a friend. The pleasant people on the phone to answer my questions started me off on a great note! Super friendly staff and plenty of parking. I had a horrible experience from a prior dentistry and needed a second opinion. My hygienist Carlos Rodriquez was awesome! Very friendly and thorough. I Just Had a WOW Experience! The Dental Team at the McDonough office were wonderful! First of all the office looks really great! Clean, and the bathroom was clean! The Reception area was warm and friendly! I had a new Hygienist for the first time since my Hygienist retired. Her name is Tisha she was wonderful and professional! she explained everything to me as she proceeded through my treatment. It had been a year since my last cleaning since the Pandemic. She assured me that at least I am trying to get things done now and gave me encouragement. Of Course Dr. Hays is always wonderful and has great chairside mannerism. The front office staff was efficient! I am proud that Dentfirst McDonough is my dental office and would recommend you going there if in your area. Also I travel to get there! read more

Had to find a new dentist in the last year and I made an appointment with Dent First. I've been back to have my teeth cleaned twice in the last year and the staff is always very friend and my hygienist was very gentle and through. Going to the dentist isn't my favorite thing to do, but the folks at Dent First made it a good experience. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I have had with a dentist office. The front desk made several mistakes regarding my appointment and the information being sent to them from my former dentist office. No one apologized or took responsibility for the errors they made. I honestly do not know how they have great ratings because my first experience left such a bad impression on me that I left before getting serviced and found a new dentist office that same day. If they are that unprofessional on my first visit, I can only imagine what I would be dealing with if any other issues were to arise in the future. I can't speak on their actual dental services but the front desk staff definitely needs more training when it comes to handling customers and issues that are due to their own mistakes. read more

I walked-in a little after 9 on a friday with excruciating pain in a wisdom tooth. I had already called a couple dentists no one was available til the next day. My liver couldn't take anymore ibuprofens so I walked in here. The front staff worked me in immediately. My dental "nurse" was so nice and informative. I had the tooth extracted and I was walking out by 10:30. The dentist explained everything thoroughly. My only hangups were I couldn't keep my partially decayed tooth for my own research purposes and $170/per tooth extracted, a little pricey. My daughter had a root canal today!! She was in SO much pain!! Her case was unusual because it started out as neck pain and we didn't know it was a tooth until 5 days later! On a previous visit they rushed with a filling and she wasn't completely numb! This traumatized her! This time they made sure she was numb BUT half way home she started having the worst pain she had ever had! I called the assistant and was worried and asked if this was normal??????? And what could I do for her??? Not everyone is looking for pain medicine!! It would have been nice to have an after care sheet explaining to put ice on it and to let us know ibuprofen was safe!!! This was such a SIMPLE way for DentFirst to show they cared for my daughter and they failed!!! After stopping for ice and ibuprofen she finally wasn't in pain an hour later! How simple would it have been to make sure she had an ice pack and care sheet explaining her after care! Very disappointed! We LOVE sweet Caroline!! She went above and beyond to check on my daughter!!!! Love her!! She needs to be an example for others in this office on caring for patients!! And the office staff is very nice!! This is a great place to come for all dental needs. It is like a one stop shop. I have been to several of their locations. I received great customer services at all locations. I just have to give a special shout out to the McDonough location. The staff there is very professional and polite, including the ladies in the front office. I have an awful gag reflex. I get anxiety just knowing my appointment is coming up. Well that has come to an end. My hygienist Tina is the bomb!!! I did not gag one time. She was gentle and very informative. My dentist McManhon-Harley, D.D.S. is also great. She makes sure you are comfortable and aware of everything she is doing. I do not remember her assistant's name but she was also great. Everyone I dealt with was extremely nice, helpful, and great at their jobs! I was nervous about having a gum graft in the first place, but all of the people in the office helped to put my mind at ease. They showed genuine care and concern for me and I greatly appreciated it. I would utilize this office for more if it were only closer to me (I traveled about 1.5 hours to get to the office - which they also took into consideration when scheduling my appointments). By far the WORST dental experience I've ever had!! I went in for a filling on 08/05 because they insisted I needed to replace my filling. Before the procedure I was NOT experiencing any pain, a week later and I was in tremendous pain from the procedure. The pain is so horrible it wakes me up @ 3 or 4 am and the only thing that helps are 800mg ibuprofen. I went back to Dr. Bryan Debowsky on 08/11 and both him and the nurse tried to convince me that it's normal to have soreness after a filling. I know the difference btwn soreness and excruciating pain (which cause a headache). I've also notice he CREATED a space (separation) btwn my teeth that wasn't there before and it's very annoying when food keeps getting stuck there. Dr. Debowsky is now saying I'll need a root canal, after charging me for the filling 2 wks ago. I think they are only in this for the money and this was his mistake and he doesn't want to admit to his wrong doing. This is highway robbery!!! read more

I chose to come here because they were one of two open on Saturday. The front desk ladies are nice, the x-Ray technician was phenomenal, but I did not like the doctors. One doctor was particularly violent when tapping my teeth for pain. After having it done at another place, I realized just how hard she was smacking them. I couldn't even tell which one hurt because they all did. Today, when tapped, only the painful one hurt. I do not suggest them to kids, sensitive patients or people with dental fear. I was in severe pain, and they only gave me Tylenol 3. Instead of making me feel like a patient they made me feel like a drug addict seeking a fix when they denied me anything stronger. When the Tylenol wasn't enough, I tried to call and tell them and I would've had to pay for another consultation because a different doctor said there was no reason for my pain. Needless to say I got that consultation elsewhere. Save your money and don't go here. If you need a Saturday dentist I recommend McDonough Center for Family Dentistry. They were amazing. read more
