I then ordered the open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes, the waiter came back and said they were out of this. I then proceeded to order the Philly cheese steak sandwich with onion rings. We waited at least 35-40 minutes for this to come out. The onion rings were hard and mediocre warm, not hot. The Philly was so hot we had to wait a minute to dig in. The Philly had a good taste to it, would order that again but the onion rings are just too crispy and extremely greasy. All in all, too long of a wait and they were out of items, no breakfast buffet. As a result it took more than 40 minutes between sitting, ordering and receiving our food. The restaurant ran out of one side dish (coleslaw). The replacement we ordered, broccoli, was cold. The dinner salad was missing several ingredients listed on the menu. Coconut shrimp was tasty, and the people who ordered Polish sausage and sauerkraut said it was good. We felt bad for our server but I have to say the overall experience was disappointing and I'm in no hurry to go back.

The burgers are consistently delicious, and the menu is packed with satisfying Southern comfort-food favorites. A lot of the menu features fried items that appear to be frozen then fried fresh just before they are served. That is not a criticism at all; the food comes out hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The chicken-fried steak is a great example. It is not a handmade steak prepared from scratch in the kitchen, but rather a prepared patty--and it is still absolutely delicious, especially when you order it as a sandwich. Be sure to try the fried squash or fried okra. Both are crispy, flavorful, and among the better versions I have had around town. They also serve some of the best sweet tea I have tasted anywhere. Breakfast is another reason to visit--their morning food is outstanding. Add in the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a serving staff that is always top-notch, and you have a place that is easy to recommend. This is one of my favorite local spots and definitely somewhere you should go if you are looking for a casual, tasty meal.

No customers present, we're told we would have to sit on the opposite side. Ok, we did. Then we're told the kitchen might have already closed up for the day? ‍ Upon checking though, YES the kitchen was OPEN. However we could *not* eat a meal there, the only option was to get some food To-Go and eat it somewhere else. Being an hour away from home, and though hungry, we opted to depart Angie's Kitchen. I inquired if their hours (as posted) were in fact in-correct, or something? "No, we close at 3:00 pm just as the sign says" is the response I got. It certainly reminded me of the Jerry Seignfield episode entitled: "Bizarro World," or for those unfamiliar with it perhaps . . . the Twilight Zone

We started with the pimento dip, the menu states it comes with tortilla chips, but the chef has changed to use fresh homemade potato chips instead which both my wife and I prefer. It was really good. Next, we received our main courses. I ordered the steak, which comes with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My wife ordered the salmon, which comes with rice. The steak was so good, it is now tied with the best steak I have ever had in my life. It was cooked perfectly, but what set it apart is that it was the most tender, melt in your mouth steak I have ever had. I don't know how they can get a steak that tender, but it was amazing. There were not a bad bite to the steak, it was really a perfect cut of steak that was sourced local. My wife's salmon was just as good, a crispy exterior with a moist, perfectly cooked filet of salmon. For dessert we ordered the Molton lava cake which my wife says she is a connoseur of molten lava cakes and is picky when it comes to them. Her verdict: amazing. This was really an excellent dinner in a cozy restaurant at the club. I would highly recommend Citico's, and have nothing but the highest praise for the new head chef.

My server was super nice and attentive so that was a plus. I sort of feared that my meal was going to end up in utter disaster, after I ordered what was supposed to be a caesar salad. You can see from my pictures, it's not. I don't even think it was Romaine, I think it was butter lettuce, but the lettuce was so warm and limp, it was like somebody left the salad on their dashboard with the sun beating down on it. No croutons, which was nice because I don't eat them anyways but at this point I'm starting to get skeptical because I just spent Texas Roadhouse type money on a truck stop diner. I got the surf and turf with sauteed shrimp and broccoli. I got to say, the steak, even though it was a dollar store steak, the cook made it perfectly for me, I ordered rare, and that's what I got. I hate to desecrate beef, but I had to season her up with a little bit of A1 steak sauce. I'm not overly disappointed, I knew what I was walking into, I just wanted to try something different than what I typically get at this place. But I do know the cook knows his stuff. I would eat here again though. It was decent, but I wouldn't recommend dropping $26 on the surf and turf. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. We live in Missouri, where we have both St. Louis and Kansas City BBQ. We love BBQ. The server was polite and checked on us a few times. 1) plate one was beef brisket, potato salad and slaw. The slaw tastes like any ole slaw you'd buy at the grocery store. It was good but nothing special. The potato salad wasn't bad but it didn't have very much flavor. Basically tasted like boiled potatoes and mayo. The brisket was probably 70% fat. Each slice was over half fat. Even the pieces that looked like meat, had the texture and taste of fat. The picture that looks like a full plate, that was after I finished eating. I couldn't punish myself anymore than that. I posted a picture of the empty plate (we boxed up the leftovers to give to my mom's chickens) to show how much fat/grease was leftover. The other pictures show dry plates but that wasn't the case for me. 2) plate two (not pictured as it wasn't my meal) was half a rack of ribs, green beans and French fries. The ribs were tough and lacking in flavor. We are used to fall off the bone ribs. The kind where you can pull a rib and it comes out of the meat clean. We had to use a knife and fork to cut the ribs and then chew on them for what felt like forever. They also came out lukewarm and were cold by the third rib. The green beans also lacked flavor and left quite a bit of fat/grease/butter in the bowl after. The fries were also not seasoned at all. TLDR: nothing was seasoned, the food was lukewarm at best and there was enough fat/grease to clog the arteries of even the healthiest person.

I've been twice now and have had the St. Louis Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, brisket, and pulled chicken. The ribs had no flavor, had pieces of gristle or cartilage in the meat, and had a boiled taste. We asked the server if they seasoned the meat and she was surprised that we didn't taste anything. The chicken was better. Dry of course but had that clear smoky flavor I was hoping everything would have. The brisket was probably the worst brisket I've ever had. While it looked okay, it was bland and flavorless and was totally dry while at the same time pooling in grease (or the water it must have been boiled in). See photo. The sides were all fine. Fried okra, Mac and cheese, and slaw. And I loved the table side barbecue sauce! But even a bath of that couldn't save the meat. I really want to return to support the staff at Smok N Bonz, but I just can't keep going to a barbecue place where I can't eat the meat.

Oh, and they only take cash so make sure you stop at the ATM before you drop by. When you are ready to order, push the green button. The server answered immediately and read back out order afterwards. Our food came out in about ten minutes. It was served in a bag with lots of ketchup packets as well as some salt packets. There was only one carhop and she was quite busy but greeted us with a smile and made sure we had all we needed. Unfortunately, both burgers were average at best. The double cheeseburger had two thin meat patties which had little to no taste. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the bun was fresh and soft, but the meat simply did not add anything to the sandwich. The Carl's Fat burger was no different. The meat patty was thicker but really did not have much taste. The curly fries and regular fries were pretty good. Both were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While they were certainly busy and seem to have a large local following, the burgers were a disappointment. This would be a place to stop for fries, and the milkshakes sounded delicious.

    ## Sons of Smoke Review…read more Sons of Smoke served up a satisfying, old-school barbecue lunch that hit all the right notes. I tried the pork tenderloin sandwich with fresh-cut fries and homemade baked beans, and it was the kind of meal that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every bite. The pork tenderloin sandwich was the star--tender, flavorful, and humongous. it was perfectly pounded out and breaded and was at least four times the size of the bun. Winning The fresh-cut fries were a great side: hot, crisp on the outside, and soft in the middle. You can tell they are not an afterthought. The homemade baked beans rounded everything out perfectly--rich, slightly sweet, and hearty, with that comforting homemade flavor you hope for at a barbecue place. If you are looking for good smoked meat, generous portions, and sides that taste like somebody actually cared about making them, Sons of Smoke is well worth a stop. The extra 1/2 star is because they have turnip greens and many places don't. That said, it's more the processed greens than the homemade kind that is thicker and more flavorful. The brisket was mostly good. A little dry and too much fat though. I prefer juicer, lean cuts. This had some nice meaty pieces. But, just didn't completely hit the mark on taste. Overall: I'd come back. It's a good location right in the middle of downtown Loudon. Good vibe and quick service.
