I didn't think it was possible, but somehow my second visit to Denver Biscuit Company topped the first. Different location, different meal, different drink -- and somehow, everything was even better. I ordered the Minona with a sunny-side-up egg and paired it with a seasonal pumpkin pie espresso martini that might just be the best brunch cocktail I've ever had. I actually found myself in a full-on conversation about opening a franchise back home in D.C. -- that's how good this place is. We ultimately agreed the only reason it wouldn't work is because we'd go too often. This place is the gold standard for brunch and lunch. The drinks are top-notch, the food is outrageously good, and the service is consistently fast and friendly. If they opened one near me, it'd instantly become my go-to Sunday brunch spot -- no hesitation. I've noticed they often share space with another restaurant, which just makes the menu options even better. I haven't tried the partner spots yet (though I'm sure they're great), but Denver Biscuit Company doesn't miss. Not even once. read more

Super solid breakfast spot that my friend recommended that reminded me so much of Biscuit Head back in Asheville, NC. I got the DBC Club which had buttermilk fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and chipotle ranch. In hindsight, I probably should have tried more of a breakfast style one but I was feeling hearty that morning. The biscuits are stupid large and with my LTS (little tummy syndrome) I was able to take like half of it home. It was really delicious as well with the biscuit not being too dry and the chicken being seasoned well. I also go a side of cheese grits because one of my friends had never had grits and asked me "what is a grit?" which I responded with a hearty laugh at her ignorance and then proceeded to order some for her to try. Got takeout breakfast. My wife went with just a plain biscuit with butter. I tried the The Sherman, which is basically a BLT on a biscuit. The biscuits are big, fluffy where they should be, and toasty on the outside. Very tasty, but they didn't work as a sandwich. The biscuit crumbled and fell apart trying to eat it that way. I'm a biscuit fiend, so when I learned DBC had taken up the old Shake N Shake in Highlands Ranch, I had to check it out. We used to live about 4 miles south of this location and would have to drive to Tennyson or Colfax to eat DBC back in the day. Having a spot right off C-470 and Quebec in suburbia is wild to me but think it'll do fine since it's a place locals love. On this visit, my husband ordered the Franklin which is the only thing he's ever ordered here. It's a giant flake buttery biscuit topped with a nicely fried piece of chicken breast that's then layered with a slice of cheddar cheese and a couple pieces of bacon. Put a biscuit top on that, smother it in either your choice of mushrooms gravy or sausage gravy and you have yourself a Franklin. I on the other hand just wanted to taste that sweet sweet biscuit all by itself which is exactly what I did. I ordered a biscuit, a side of their homemade jam and a side of eggs. The biscuit was just as big as I remember it with a balance of buttermilk and a sprinkling of salt to make that perfect biscuit. I was recommended to check this place out during my trip to Colorado. Got seated at the bar, which I prefer. Tried the Beeler which is a Nashville Hot Chicken. I'm not a biscuit person so the biscuit wasn't amazing to me. Overall I would give it a 3/5. It was a Sunday around lunch time and there was a football game going on so it was quite busy. There's a lot of seating inside and outside patio as well. The food took awhile to come out so I enjoyed my drink while I waited and watched football. Nice place to grab breakfast/lunch. 4 stars instead of 5 because the sandwiches are TOO big. Seriously, as delicious as they are it is almost impossible for a normal human to fit in their mouth. Even though the outside patio is sort of in a parking lot, it is a not-busy corner and nice. I had the DNC club and the buttermilk fried chicken was spot-on. The biscuit was airy and flaky but could not begin to hold all the ingredients together properly. Really really tasty but became more of a fork meal than a sandwich. Nice little beer selection. I've been a pretty frequent patron of the Stanley DBC location, so I was THRILLED when I found out they were opening a location closer to me AND it would be open later! The service was wonderful and I regret not getting my servers name. She was quick, polite, and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly our food was out, too! The food was great, as usual, and I appreciated the kitchen accommodating my request for an egg on top, even though it was past 3:00pm, because that's my FAVE way to enjoy the biscuits and gravy! My husband was happy with The Franklin, as well. The bartender was great. The drinks we had on Saturday (6/18) are maybe the best drinks I've had from DBC; and we have been to the Stanley Marketplace location 15+ times. (It's not to say that the other location is bad, but this was an especially great experience.) m Note on atmosphere & location: The location is great with a lot of parking. I love the atmosphere and decor inside! They have some garage door walls that I would be really excited to see opened! There's a nice patio area as well with cornhole and umbrellas for shade. Every dining experience we've had with DBC has been phenomenal. It could be simply the carb overload, comfort food menu they offer. Who doesn't't loves well made biscuits? The only other thing that would have me here more than once or twice a year would be low carb options, lol. Maybe homemade protein rich biscuits. Is it a thing. That aside, our food was yummy - tasty, cooked to order and out quickly. DBC knows their favors and isn't afraid to pair things together. Their sauces are fabulous as well. Our service was also on point. Def check out the pics. And the location? It's great if you're a DTC'er. My hope is that their opening in the sleepy strip center will revive other businesses there and bring still more. We were there on the late side, but he was attentive and service-oriented. We had a great time and the food was awesome. Andrew is a fantastic server and treats his customers with respect and tries to upsell so so so well! He did awesome! Got us to upsell our drinks, and pushed hard to upsell some apps. Andrew was awesome and should be commended for his excellence. The problem is their manager. Hardcore problem! This dude decided that, even though the ENTIRE restaurant was empty anywhere near us (we have photo proof), he was going to cause a scene. He decided that we were "too loud" even though, again, the entire restaurant near us was COMPLETELY empty, that he was going to tell us we needed to leave because his lunch at the bar (free lunch btw!) was being disturbed that we had to go. Mind you the entire interaction was caught on video - we were alone in the restaurant and just simply happy we'd had such a great server (Andrew) and a great time while dining in, that we were a disturbance. Again, we admit the food was awesome and the drinks were good and the atmosphere was chill. We spent the entire time with a little kid from the table next to us jumping into our table! We loved it, and thought it was adorable!!! Anyway, you cost yourself more food and drinks that day, and more into the future. I again, would be glad to provide video and photo evidence of what we experienced. I recommend you to French toast your biscuit and try the fresh jam for extra yum. Slather liberally! The veggie pot pie gravy was rich with flavor. The grab your own coffee cup feature was great and the food was fantastic. Very large portion sizes and we could have shared.
