Talk about an old school diner/restaurant feel that does not disappoint with their delicious food and sides. I personally could see this place being the type of restaurant that you could go to every single day of the week and order different things and still leave happy. My husband and I shared the giant reuben and a side of potato salad for lunch. We left full and it's on the list to come back again on our next trip to Denver. We both got a half sandwich with some soup. The only thing I could say that is negative as I got pastrami and brisket. The brisket was really tough and our server brought me some corned beef instead. I was going to send the brisket back and she said take it home for your dog, which I did, and he was most appreciative. It was very tasteless and chewy. But the pastrami, and corn beef were amazing! My grandfather was Jewish and all the items on the menu are nostalgic for me. I get the half sandwich and soup and it's more than enough food for me. My favorite is corned beef and pastrami on rye. I am a HUGE lox on my bagel person, and I am wildly happy to find a place that does it well in Denver! We didn't spend time in the restaurant as we just did takeout, but the food was plenty easy to pick up from the counter. Bagel Deli is a Denver institution since 1967. The food is good in the restaurant but I love going to the counter to order a number of different items. I love the potato salad, bagels, lean corned beef, rugalach, bakes goods, and much more. I wish they sold 7-layer cake. Brisket can be fatty. The sandwiches are enormous with enough meat for 2 more sandwiches. The service is always outstanding on every level. Parking is plentiful in the lot. Noise level is medium. The decor is still 1960s looking. Nothing fancy here but I love the feeling of being in NYC right here in Denver. read more

Whenever my brother and sister and I are in town visiting our uncle and cousins, everyone always wants to come here for brunch or lunch, they like it and it's great for the deli that most reviewers here do too. But I'm not as much a fan. My deli "go-to" items are matzah ball soup and brisket sandwich and I feel this place falls short on both. Soup is just ok, nothing special, the broth is pretty bland, matzah ball is fine. But it's moreso the brisket that's disappointing. I keep giving it a chance but every time it's the same fatty, unappetizing meat. I much prefer how the competition a half mile down the street does those two items. Went in and there was a 40 minute wait to eat inside so went to the walk up deli to order to go. Finally a $20 Denver sandwich that is worth the price. Got the Ruben that they are known for and they pile on the meat. Only critique would be Rubens don't travel well and got a little soggy in my 20 minute drive home. If we had waited for a table it would clearly be one of the best Rubens I have ever had. My son got a turkey, egg and cheese bagel and said the turkey was amazing. My order was ready before my stated pick up time & was accurate. We got a variety of items, including their latke-rito, bagel with lox & cream cheese, side of corned beef hash and a triple decker sandwich (which came with choice of side and a pickle spear). The deli was apparently featured on food network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and they promote menu items that Guy Fieri tried on the show. I had an eveything bagel with egg, turney, and cheese. It was wonderful. The deli has a nice choice of deli meats and every type of bagel and topping that you can imagine. The bagel was fresh and not to hard. It was delightful to eat. As we waited because we ordered take out, we sat in the restaurant on the otherside of the deli. It was a large dining area with nostagic pictures on the wall like old Hollywood. They sell other foods as well. They have a variety of common and uncommon sandwiches. When a restaurant has been in business within the same family for almost sixty years you know that they are doing something right. This place has gotten a lot of praise so it probably doesn't need from me, but the service, portion size and taste were all great. The menu has too much stuff on it which can be daunting. Luckily our waiter, Jodi, made some stellar recommendations. The Rueben with matza ball soup was a great pairing. The bagels were also great and if you want to finish off strong, chances are you'll be more than full ordering one of their heartier plates but the apple knish is a great way to finish things off. Maybe the restaurant is different but got a bagel this morning as I was too far south from rosenbergs. This is not an east coast bagel. It's chewy. Toasted. And I asked for cream cheese on each side because I can never decide, and even said left and right and they put strawberry on top and veggie on bottom, mixing them together. Better experience today than on our last visit. Even though they were busy, service was prompt and friendly. My daughter and I both had the hashy egg special. Flavor was good, but consistency was perhaps a little too creamy to me. My mom and I were referred to The Bagel Deli & Restaurant by a friend who is from the area. We were visiting out of town and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made the whole trip! All the staff were welcoming and friendly and our waitress Monica was absolutely fantastic! She helped us with the menu and suggested items to us and after following her council we believe she could never lead us wrong! We started with a Matzo Ball soup, which might of cured every sickness I've ever had, and then had the Pastrami with egg salad and the Corn beef with egg salad and fries. We ended with a Fried apple cinnamon knish. Everything was wonderful and I could eat it every day!
