I requested a formal contract from Gravina's for a full-frame window and sliding door replacement…read moreproject. The sales rep, Mark, provided a detailed itemized quote and answered initial spec questions promptly. When I mentioned that another vendor's quote was significantly lower and asked for a formal contract to compare, the rep declined to finalize the contract or calculate exact measurements unless I first shared the competing company's proposal. I explained that I don't share competitor quotes with any vendor, as a matter of fairness, and asked again for Gravina's own formal contract with their best price. I followed up twice over the following week, including a specific deadline for the contract, and received no contract or further response from the rep. I then forwarded the full email exchange directly to the sales director so the company could review it and respond if they chose to. That email also went unanswered. The initial consultation and product information were professional. However, despite being a ready buyer and giving the company multiple opportunities to follow through, I was unable to get a final contract at any level, and ultimately went with another company that provided a complete, firm proposal without conditions.

I would love to be able to give zero stars…read more I will not be recomending Gravinas to anyone I know. We needed to get a quote for a couple of windows that needed to be replaced due to being damaged, and covered under insuance. We had a consultation at the house and were told we would recieve a quote in a couple days. We did not recieve a quote, which lead to us calling and leaving 5 messages with Chrissy. On the 6th call we finally got a hold of her, to then be told that the windows we were needing replaced would not be a match for insurance (which was never conveyed at the walkthrough of the house) and that it would be more expensive than what we had. I then asked if we could still get a breakdown of the quote to understand the differences. Chrissy proceeded to list numbers for a full install over the phone of an all inclusive package. When I asked for a breakdown of the pricing to fully grasp the whole package, she questioned whether we would really want to spend $3,500 per window and implied we could not afford it. Needless to say, it felt incredibly rude and condesending and we will not be giving Gravinas any business.

He felt both genuine and knowledgeable, and that proved out over the quoting process and engagement. While the wait for our windows took a little longer than we had hoped, Mike was really responsive and when the window did arrive installation was scheduled immediately. I'd wholeheartedly work with them again and recommend them to others!

After getting four quotes, I came to realize that each company pretty much has one type of siding they recommend and install. For one company we interviewed it was LP (engineered wood), for two companies it was Hardie (fiber cement), and for the last company, Superior Industries, it was a material we hadn't heard of before: Gentek ALIGN Composite Cladding (aka Alside ASCEND Composite Cladding). I was initially skeptical because I hadn't come across it in my research. How good could it be? Turns out, amazing. Really glad I called Mike to come take a look, as otherwise we would have ended up spending a lot more to get a not-quite-as-good product. Superior Industries replaced all of our siding, soffits, and facia, and aluminum-wrapped all new trim boards for us. They did precise, high-quality work and it really shows. Communication was good throughout and the guys who did the work were friendly and competent. Mike only has a couple teams, so these guys have been with him for many years and really know their stuff. They listened to everything I had to say, they consulted me when there were any decisions to be made, and they answered all my questions. Everything looks great and we are very pleased.

Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

He shared that it would take about 4 to 6 weeks to receive the doors. In addition, being a military veteran, Kale ensured that we received a military discount. Several days later, another employee came and digitally measured all of the doors that were going to be replaced. The big door was going to be 96" across, which was for our den storage closet. He explained the process for this door and what to expect. Five weeks later, our doors were received and installed. The team of two came prepared and installed all the doors within three hours. Talk about professionalism! The doors finish was outstanding, and the black enhanced the white doors. The storage closet, which was 96 inches across, was awesome. One of our neighbors was looking at the work and wanted their phone number, which I gladly gave to them. Living in a retirement community, we do a lot of word-of-mouth referrals for our neighbors. And I'm gladly going to spread the word about this company and their excellent service.

We got an old security door and a problematic screen door that no handyman could install correctly replaced by DSD, and they did a great job on both. They remove your old doors, and they'll dispose of them too. You don't realize what a difference a modern, clean storm door can make on the look of your house until you do it, and then you wish you did it sooner. Not only does DSD use only high quality doors, they align them perfectly and make sure that they're calibrated to close at a speed that works for you and will securely keep your door closed. We used to have a significant draft on both our front and back doors, and our new storm doors fit so perfectly that those issues are completely gone. Also, the doors open and close quietly, while adding security to our home. Could not recommend these guys more. If you've been wondering if it's worth going outside of Lowes or Home Depot for a screen door, or you're looking to get a security door without spending a fortune, give Denver Storm Door a call. They are the perfect Goldilocks for most homeowners.

Then they invoiced us for more than twice the cost of the original estimate even after they "took off" some charge for delay and poor communication When we had them out to for an estimate and spoke about the jobs and it was clear that we saw there could need to be additional work added to complete the job correctly once we got started, which should have been included in the estimate. Instead they added more charges later with no explanation. Also On the estimate they simply wrote "materials not included" and never discussed possible costs an then the the cost of materials was 2/3 more than the estimate for the actual work. This is completely duping customers with what their final cost will be! Customers understand there is a cost for materials, which they could include at least a rough number in the original estimate, but if material costs will be almost as much as the work they should include this in their estimate. This is a sneaky, dishonest business practice. Along with the high cost of our materials, we had to pay for every person that came to replace the previous person that did a terrible job. The first person tried to complete the job as a total amateur and ruined what they were meant to improve. Then 3 other workers tried unsuccessfully to complete the job and wasted time and materials to do a horrible, poor quality job, which then had to be corrected by consecutive workers. Finally after 6 weeks the job was completed by a single person in 2 days. Even after all these weeks and people we still have one thing that was working before they arrived and when they finished the left it completely unusable and we have to hire another company to fix what they ruined. By the end when we received the invoice we filed a complaint and they took off a nominal amount but never reconciled the horrible work, time, or inflated charged. If I could give negative stars I would! Do not hire this company!
