Last week I dropped a full glass of club soda all over the keyboard of my Mac. Of course it was close to 5 o'clock and I call Denver Mac repair. They were open for another hour so I busted tail down from Commerce City to get here in time. They let me know on the phone the sooner that they could get in the shop the better my chances were of recovery. After a few days they let me know that they were able to save my Mac and only charge me the cleaning fee which I thought was extremely reasonable. The alternative had I waited, would have been about $800 to get it working again. I think the 195 cleaning fee was a screaming deal. The staff was knowledgeable and super helpful and were even able to clean out some old files that had been creating a problem upon start up. I highly recommend this company for their fair pricing quick work and knowledge of Macs. We have seven iPads in our business and other Mac products I will surely be returning when needed. This is the email I sent to Denver Mac repair after they made my phone inoperable when repairing a warranty issue on the screen they replaced.. I brought my iphone 5 in at the end of last month to have a broken screen replaced. I had called around to other places and looked into online reviews - yelp, etc - and decided you were going to be the best service provider. I dropped off my phone and voila, 30 minutes later it was back in my hand with a new screen. Great...was traveling the following day and noticed a couple issues. The first being the home button standing proud of the screen, resulting in it being easily depressed to activate siri. I also found one edge would become stuck under the edge of the screen. The next issue I had was the screen would become unresponsive - I'd swipe to try to answer a call and nothing would happen... the screen would frequently freeze and the only way to have the phone function again would be to press the power button to turn the phone interaction off and then back on and a swipe. Not convenient, especially if needing to answer it... otherwise a nuisance when using the phone screen. Not what I expected with a new screen... Realizing the service you performed was still under warranty I brought it back today, explained the situation to one of the folks at the counter - both the home button issue and the screen malfunctioning. His tone was generally dismissive of the issue with the home button - he didn't think it was a problem. As for the screen malfunctioning he told me that without me being able to show it wasn't functioning correctly the only thing he could do is open the phone, clean it and charge me... I again explained I had the screen replaced a few weeks back and this was present since that time. He moved to deal with another customer while I tried to get my phone to malfunction... Another rep approached and asked if I had been helped. I again explained that I had the screen replaced by Denver Mac Repair, the issue with the home button and the screen malfunction. To his credit he said let's take a look at the history and service. He pulled my info up and without much more from me on the matter said it's under warranty and we will repair it and advised I come back in an hour. I returned after an hour and was told it would be 10 more minutes. 25 minutes later my phone was brought out and given to me where upon I attempted to turn it on, which it wouldn't. I mentioned this to the rep who brought it out and was at the counter and he said it didn't work. He told me it had been opened up and the battery was swollen, a part was replaced, but the video output to the screen had failed...probably because it was old. They do that. But I can refund your cost for the screen. Sorry. (Refund had to be a check as you, the owner, who I trust is reading this, disabled that function (edit:charge reversal / account credit function). If you can't trust your employees I'm not sure why I should...) No solutions, recommendations, suggestions or otherwise were offered. The tone was more of 'sorry, but tough shit for you'. And that...was that. I suggested the output had worked when I brought the phone in with a broken screen. Everything on the phone worked at that point, just the screen was broken. It even worked when I brought it in the second time! Now I have a bricked iphone. I cannot even do a backup of the data because the screen is non functional. As you know these devices act as a core for many things - businesses, personal, etc - all of which came to a grinding halt this afternoon. I am now out hundreds of dollars for a new phone, and an equal amount in time lost due to having to set up a new device. This is certainly not the level of service I had hoped for. In short, the experience left me furious. I trusted your company to perform a simple repair and I was completely fucked over and left hanging at the end of the day. I would hope that you can provide me with some explanation why this would be acceptable. If you were to bring a device... a car... really, anything to a 'reputable' service provider and have it returned to you non operational, with no option to make function again, what would your take on it be? Acceptable? Have a new windshield installed on a car and find out the engine won't turn over? Acceptable? No, it's not!!! A rep called me back a few days later and told me they could provide me with a used phone they had in their store. I informed him I had already replaced my phone, to which he suggested maybe I could return it... I wasn't interested in expending even more time and energy (which in turn, equals $$) on the matter so declined. At the end of the day the services they performed were a dis service. I will look elsewhere for repairs in the future. read more

Thumbs up! It's nice to run into a business that does reasonably priced, great work and then stands behind their work. They worked on my MacBook Pro and, in the process, we decided to replace the keyboard. After a couple of days, it was clear the "s" key wasn't up to par so DMR cheerfully (from my perspective) took it back, switched out the keyboard and got it back the next day. I used this place to repair the shattered screen on my iPhone 6+. They completed the repair quickly and at a reasonable price. The service was good. I felt like they cared that I chose them for the repair. Much to my surprise, they refused to let my 3 year old daughter use the restroom. They told me they didn't have one. I am skeptical. I understand that businesses do not want to provide a restroom for every person on the street; however, I spent $100 for 20 minutes of work and feel like using the toilet is not too much to ask. read more

imac acting funky - took to genius bar. they said hard drive has 3 bad sectors, new hard drive recommended. $220. data 100% recoverable. took to Denver Mac Repair for second opinion. without even looking at computer, disagreed with genius bar. $90 for diagnoses + 'tune-up'. brought it home, problem not fixed. took back to DMR, turns out hard drive in fact was failing. while they did credit the $90, still ended up paying $300 total for what the genius bar estimated at $220. DMR tech was able to recover 0% of data, recommended i take it to data recovery place for $800+. WTF?! .......... :o((( maybe for iphone screens they are 'the shizz dude', but for major issues, especially data recovery, i'd keep shopping around. read more

I brought in a 5 year old mac to see what they would give me for it. They told me it would take about 5 days for them to tell me for sure, but it would likely be between $40-100. I got $250 for it somewhere else after about half an hour. It looks like this might be a good place for repairs, but if you're looking to sell something, keep looking. read more

They are overpriced!!! They wanted to charge me $175 just to fix my screen for my iPhone7 plus. Why would I pay that when I have insurance and just $20 more I can get a brand new phone. Apple Care costed me $120. My phone is fully functional, it was just the screen. The guy said because it's a plus. Compared to other reviews, I expected to pay no more than $100. Terrible, terrible customer service. Called and left a message twice about my issue and they never bothered to call back. Eventually I emailed and got a satisfactory response from a tech that was later contradicted by "el presidente" sean who couldn't be bothered to apologize for the poor service and simply suggested that I needed to pay more for any kind of decent service. Coffee spilled on my MAC, took it immediately to Apple (Cherry Creek) told me to go to this place because it would be cheaper. After $140.00 they told me that the computer was dead and to "sell the parts." Took it to JB at Boulder PC and he fixed it in 30 minutes and charged me $35.00. We called Denver PC and told them that the computer was fixed and why were we charged so much for not fixing the computer. They hung up on us! They called back and apologized and told us they would refund but it has been one week later and we have not had a refund. What is wrong with this picture? read more

I'm really disappointed in your warranty policy. After having one MacBook Pro cord for 5 years, I've had to replace mine three times in the last two years with the cords you sell. Today I came in to see if I could exchange the last one I purchased from you and was told that you only give a 6 month warranty for MacBook cords. I've only had this one for 10 months, there is no external damage to it or foreseeable cause, it just stopped working. I understand having a warranty policy, but why such a short warranty? $65 for a cord that lasts less than a year seems like a racket. Your staff is always nice enough and generally helpful, but your warranty policy is piss-poor. It also would have been nice to have been told that your warranty is only for 6 months rather than being told over the phone to "just bring it in and we'll exchange it if it's not working" when I called a few weeks back. Especially after purchasing now three cords from you, today was the first time that I have been notified of the limited warranty policy. I will be checking out other suppliers for when this cord gives out again in less than a year, but more than 6 months...which it seems like it will. read more

I normally don't write reviews but my service here was so stellar that I wanted to pass that on. The service guy initially told me it would be an hour to an hour and a half for repairing the broken glass on my iPhone. I thought that was reasonable so I was ready to leave and he noticed I had my iPad with me. He told me if I wanted to hangout on my iPad he could possibly have my phone fixed quicker. I will admit that they did a good job of retrieving the data off my mac that the Mac store was not able to. However, if was incredibly frustrating that after giving me a quote of $120-$170 the guy called after completing the recovery, told me that the other guy quoted me incorrectly and that he would have to charge me another $90. I of course fought this ridiculous charge. I got him to take it down to $40 extra, but I was forced to pay the $40 due to the fact that they have written into their contracts that they can charge you $40 dollars more without calling to ask or notify you. And the guy was downright rude and hostile. If you like to be taken advantage of, this is the place for you. If you can find somewhere else, I'd go somewhere else. read more

I took my iPad in to have the glass replaced after it was cracked. The guys at the shop were nice, took the iPad and told me they would cal in a week when it was done. I waited for the call, they never did dono called them. Had to leave a message. They finally called me back and, yes, iPad was ready for pickup. Paid my $120 for glass replacement and took it home. Realized that night there was a dead spot on the screen and the widgets at the bottom didn't work. Took it back in and they said they would fix it, probably just a small oversight. Told me they would call when it's done. Again, no call from them. Left a message and got a call back from the tech who worked on it and they said they actually couldn't fix it. Probably a short in the screen. I went in to talk to them and asked if they would consider giving me a partial refund (at least a partial refund...I do realize they did put glass and labor into iPad) since they couldn't fix the problem. I go to a place like Denver Mac Repair because I don't know what I'm doing. If they had told me there was a chance my iPad wouldn't work properly after replacing glass, I would have put the $120 into a new iPad. That didn't happen however. Instead, they gladly took my money and gave me a worthless iPad in return. Awesome. Thanks Denver Mac Repair. They were nice but nice doesn't always cut it. read more

First time I've felt compelled to post a review. I cracked the screen to my Iphone 6, and came to Denver Mac Repair ("DMR") on 11/30 for the repair. My initial impression was it was a fun, hip store, with friendly staff. I was hopeful I had found a good substitution to the huge and impersonal Apple stores. After a fairly quick repair, I went on my way happy with the turnaround. When I got home however I realized the thumb touchpad and the speaker phone had become disabled. That seemed an odd symptom of what I would consider a cosmetic repair, but a quick Internet search revealed these were actually common problems if the screen wasn't replaced correctly.Fine, these things happen. I immediately notified the company on the phone and in an email to the president, Sean Patrick. I got a quick response and was told to bring the phone back in. This was inconvenient as I live across town from the shop and was a college student heading into exams, after which I would be leaving for a month. I wasn't happy about the situation but was accepting, agreeing to get there as soon as I could. On 12/15 I brought the phone back in. The speaker phone issue was repaired but I was told the touchpad issue was a software issue. I disputed this as it all started with the screen replacement, and if you would just look online you would see this is a known issue. I feel like I was basically ignored but realized I wouldn't get anywhere until I updated the software, so I left nce again with a phone that had not been adequately repaired. That night i attempted to backup the phone and update the software. At this point the phone froze and locked up, with iTunes unable to read it. Since I was leaving the following day to drive across the country, having lost any confidence that DMR was capable of getting the job done, I went to the Apple store in Cherry Creek. Within about 5 minutes the tech diagnosed the problem as "Error 53" at which point he asks me the question I was expecting "Have you had your screen replaced recently?" We had to replace the phone and I lost 5 months worth of pictures since July as the backup was corrupted when the phone crashed, all a result of the poor job in the screen replacement. I notified Sean of my frustration on 12/17 and again on 12/22, but have not heard back. My stance is that the work that was expected was not delivered, I suffered real damage as a result, and I thought I deserved a refund of the $121 I was invoiced. Really though, even if I wasn't granted a full refund I would have probably refrained from posting this review if Sean would have just gotten back to me. I want to be fair so I will say these guys will probably get the job done if given an unlimited amount of time. However if you live far away or need the job done right and in a timely manner, the first time, I would strongly recommend going to an actual Apple or Mac store. read more

These guys are earning their high marks. I had a 6 year old iMac with an still functioning but aging hard drive that was starting to act up. I purchased a 1TB SSD Samsung hard drive and had Denver Mac Repair install and move my data over. A flawless execution and done sooner than promised. They also ran full diagnostics. Went in for a simple repair in which they wanted to charge me $175 for a part and service ($80 for the part and $95 for labor). I know nothing about computers and I bought the part on amazon for $20, it arrived the following day and it took me ten minutes to install myself. I even tried to just buy the part from Denver mac repair for the nonsense price they offered and they declined. I'm thankful for the people at apple who actually told me the price of the part and told me how easy it was to install, otherwise I probably would have been a victim of this SCAM. Oh yea, apple will reinstall your OS X software for FREE, whereas Denver Mac Repair wanted to charge me $40. read more

I will not use them again. My wife cracked the screen on her IPAD. I talked to guy on the phone and he told me three day repair, $150 for the new screen. I brought the IPAD in on Friday. He informs me, they won't work on it today and don't work on IPADs on weekends. I also inform him that there seems to be something stuck in the headphone jack. No problem removing that when the IPAD is open. But if the jack needs to be replaced $30. I have no issue with the prices. So Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is three days. I call them up about 2pm on Wednesday. They had not even started working on it. They will call me when it is done. I do not get a phone call. I go there first thing Thursday morning. It is done. $150 for the screen. Headphone jack is still not working. Guy tells me he has to open it up and try to remover it from the inside. It'll take about 30 more minutes. I sit outside and wait in my car. Thirty minutes pass it is done. I got it and left. My three day repair took 7 days and 6 nights. Apparently for a couple of hour job. After all they did not even start it until after 2pm on Wednesday. I will not go back to them for any reason. read more
