They engage in aggressive upsell tactics for services that are part of a regular detail elsewhere. They charge top dollar for fair to average results. The last straw was arriving at 3:30 PM to pick up my car only to find they had left for the day. When I came the next day at great inconvenience to get my car, the manager copped an attitude when I raised the issue of their closing early without letting me know telling me to "lighten up and deal with it". Gave my car for detailing and got it back in the same condition after paying $175. They said they have done the work and that's the best they can and infact did extra work as a courtsey. Really! But I got the car back in the same condition like I gave. Not sure what detailing they did. Not going back to them again. read more

I've been going to Denville Detail for years for all my detailing needs and have never been disappointed. The staff is professional, polite and know their craft. I've lived all over the tri-state area and have not come across a better shop. There were no surprise extras fees added to the bill and the job was done on time, as promised. I just purchased a new car and my first stop, literally was Denville Detail. Made an appointment to have all the windows tinted and couldn't be happier. To say I'm obsessed with my car is an understatement. I demand absolute perfection and knew Dan (the owner) would deliver. Car looks amazing and I was given options for my needs. Did a little bit of research and decided to go with this place for a winter detail, as I am not a big fan of run of the mill car washes that just try to push you through without actually making sure your car is taken care of. I did an exterior detail because they did not have time of an interior detail which was not a big deal, they squeezed me in considering the last minute appointment. I dropped the truck off and was called a few hours later asking if I wanted to go with the nano coating (for en extra $50) to help keep it cleaner in the future and I decided to go with it. An hour later the truck was ready for pick up and I went and picked it up. Payment was easy and the staff was courteous and polite. Now I would truly love to give this place 5 stars as I think they did a great job overall on the detail but I am a little frustrated with the fact that they did a poor job on my wheels as well as brakes. There is visible dirt and grime on the wheels and it kind of bothers me considering how much I paid for the detail. I could understand if this was a standard car wash but I paid for a detail. There was some other spots on the vehicle that could have used a little more attention but I get it sometimes things get missed but the wheels are pretty blatant. The overall wash and customer service was good but these small issues really stand out and leave me a little frustrated when I consider how much I paid (130). read more

Poor quality work. They had to work on my tinting twice. First had bubbles, the rework was even worse; bubbles and lint. After the rework, I was told that if I want it better, that they have to remove the glass from the panels. Ummm, I don't think so. I've had tint work done elsewhere and the other places only need one try to get it right. They gave me a complimentary car wash after the rework to compensate for them wasting my Saturday. Unfortunately, they didn't do a good job on the wash either. What good are they really for? read more

He did a great job tinting my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee...I've had the windows on my car tinted by cheaper places in Newark, Elizabeth, etc and you can really tell the difference between these tints and the cheaper places. I would def recommend this place. read more

I wish I took a before and after picture but they did spectacular job on my car, especially with the interior detail. I never got a detail in the six years I had my car (shame on me I know) and they took it in stride and delivered a fabulous end result. I have tried reaching out to the company to come to a resolution before leaving this review but they did not feel that I deserved any compensation for their mistakes and the inconveniences caused. I will be contacting the BBB to report them also. When I picked up my car the first time, there were bubbles that did not go away after the 5 day curing time, scratches in the tint, large specks of dust/dirt trapped under the tint and tint that was not even covering the passenger window completely. I was annoyed that I had to go out of my way to bring my car back a second time and be without a vehicle for another day which meant I had to coordinate rides for my daughter to sports, when it should've been done right the first time. As if that wasn't bad enough, the second time was even more of a disappointment. At the time that I picked it up, there was a very large bubble right in the middle of the windshield about 4-5 inches big, I'm not sure how something that large could've been overlooked. I've waited for it to dry and hoped it would dissipate but as of today (months later), I'm still left with a bubble (although much smaller now) in it's place and it doesn't seem to be going down anymore. There is also a few spots of dirt/dust trapped again. The worst part of all though, is that a razor was left in my cup holder. As I was driving home from picking up my car, I saw there was a piece of a straw wrapper in my cup holder and I went to go pick it up and almost cut my finger on the blade. Luckily, I saw it before I touched it but the fact that it was left in my car is completely unsafe. I had my child in my car with me and she could've cut herself. I also could've gotten pulled over and had a straight razor blade in my possession. As someone who has struggled greatly with self-harm, this was an extremely difficult situation for me to drive all the way home with it in my car. I chose Denville Detail for my tint because you guys had great reviews but I unfortunately did not have the same experience as many of your customers seem to have had. $300 for tint having to be done twice and still doesn't look good and then leaving a razor blade in my car is unacceptable. It is unfortunate that this is the experience I had to have when I saw so many positive reviews about this company. The company offered to redo the tint for the THIRD time but since the second time doing the tint was not any better than the first, I don't think having it done for a third time is going to help at this point. Their other option was for me to bring my car back to have all of the tint removed by them and then they would refund my money but that option includes me going out of my way again to fix their mistakes. It is a huge inconvenience to be without my car once again. Also the fact that I've already not been able to use my windows for 10 days since I had to get it done twice. I specifically wanted my tint done before it got warm out so that I wouldn't need my windows. I paid $300 for this service, just like your other customers do and yet I had to bring my car there twice when it should've been done correctly the first time. Even after the second time, it is not quality work and then the razor blade issue on top of all that. At this point, the only fair compensation is a partial refund to make up for all of the driving back and forth, the multiple emails trying to get a resolution and the less than good tint job that was done TWICE. If this company had been more understanding and take accountability for their mistakes, I would have left an honest review but would have explained that they went above and beyond to make it right. Unfortunately, they have done nothing to make it right and haven't been too nice about it along the way. I would never recommend them to anyone looking for tint. I should've just gone to Sunrays like I have in the past and had a wonderful experience. read more

I have a 5 year old Subaru I purchased used from an Audi dealer about 1 1/2 years ago, its gotten quite dirty since I bought it (it was clean & detailed when purchased). I was really happy with the service I received. I exchanged mutiple emails with Dan (one of the main guys there) asking questions about different services and pricing before I actually set a date. He then called to confirm the date and they picked the car up from my house and dropped it off later when they were done. The exterior was beautiful (even though I chose a day it was raining of course) and the interior was even better than when I bought it.I also got tinting done on my windows which came out really well, but they do warranty the tint if for some reason it pealed or bubbled. They included a 10% discount window sticker if I get it detailed again within the year which I definitely plan on when winter is over. They make getting your car detailed easy and painless. Was definitely worth the money and if your looking to get your windows tinted they do a great job. read more

Used Denville Detail as a middle man for paintless dent repair. The pdr technician repaired my dents to near perfection. However, during the process he created new ripples in the fender lip and damage to the paint where he accessed the back of the panel. After complaint I was asked to bring it back for rectification. I was disappointed when the ripples were made only a little better and there was yet more paint damage. The Denville Detail staff was pleasant through the whole process though I will not recommend pdr here to anyone in the future. read more

Denville Detail did a fantastic job detailing my black 2009 Ford Explorer. I can't remember the last time it shined so bright on the outside and the inside is immaculate. Also had them do an engine rinse and I doubt it looked that good when it rolled off the production line. I had taken a couple of cars there for cleaning when we purchased cars for our company fleet. First couple of basic cleanings/detailings were fine. We also had a dent taken out of a car which they did brought in a dent guy and the job he did was ok also. However I had a Jaguar sedan that we wanted detailed and also buffed and polished to take out some scratches in the clearcoat. They overbuffed it to the point where there were a couple of high points where the paint was burned and many spots on the front where the clearcoat had been completely buffed away down to the paint. Subsequently the paint on the front of the car hazed and faded quickly without clearcoat and we are looking at now having to repaint at a cost of approx. $2K. When we originally picked up the car, I complained to the owner Dan when picking up the car and he tried to make it out that the car had little to no clear coat to start with and took no responsibility for his worker's over zealous buffing trying to make it out that the damage pre-existed which I had never seen prior. I have since stopped taking our cars there of course and would not recommend them for anything except simple basic cleanings. read more

I took my 2016 Chevy Colorado to Denville Detail for an estimate, I had some small scratches on it in which I was told could be buffed out with no problems, I took it there for the buffing service and tints and when I picked it up it looked like the truck was never touched, it was still dirty and none of the scratches looked like they were removed, the tints were ok but the buffing service was not worth the money, I would never go there again. read more

Had an appointment set up for a week, dropped the car off at 9AM. Was told to come back at 3PM (for a simple exterior hand wash and wax - about 5 hours is reasonable) came back at 3PM only to see my car was untouched. the guy i spoke with (he was wearing a hat) told me "oh no either 4 or 5pm. I'll have two guys working on it." It's nearly 4PM and im anxiously awaiting the results. will repost but so far, im giving 1 star for lack of care and owning up to appointments. fair? i think so. read more

Denville Detail was able to revive the interior and exterior to a state I hadn't seen since purchasing the car. I would recommend them again. Service was polite and they had been very easy to reach. I am sorry to say that I CANNOT recommend Denville Detail. I brought my Jeep Wrangler to Dan for detailing (just the interior). I even removed the rear seat before I dropped off my Jeep, to make the job easier. Unfortunately, I drove away unhappy. I gave Dan a chance... I pointed out the black shoe scuff marks left on the door panel, the debris and dog hair still left in the corners after "vacuuming," and the untreated spots on the upholstery and carpet. They didn't even bother to wipe out the center console (I emptied everything out of the vehicle beforehand... no trash or personal items to work around). The work showed a notable lack of attention to "detail." Dan just made excuses and commented, "I could have charged you more." How's that? He quoted me a price and he failed to do what he promised for that figure. When I got home, I used a damp rag to wipe down the areas that his crew missed... that's all it took to remove some of the smudges and marks. I can only guess that they used a dry towel to wipe down the interior. I could have done exactly what Denville Detail did in 20 minutes with a towel and a vacuum, and I would have saved myself $120! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for your automotive detailing needs. This outfit doesn't understand the value of customer service, integrity, and pride in your work. they did a wonderful job on tinting my 2012 Volkswagen GTI! 35% all around, and the guy ensured that it would fall within Washington state regulations, since I'll be moving there soon and will need to register my vehicle there. it was finished in just two hours, and the guy who did it was real courteous and explained everything I had questions about. I will only say that I did notice some wiggle in my driver's side door when it's half rolled down and I shut the door, and I'm sure it's because he told me he removed the door panel to correctly apply the window tint, but that's not a big concern to me. totally recommend! read more

I took my 2 yr old car for complete detailing (inside and outside). The interior of the car was not too dirty. They did good job for exterior but did not clean interior which was not too bad. They left spots on lots of places. I took the car again to them and they asked me to come some other day. I went again and they did clean those spots 90% after pointing each one of them. I'm not happy with their service at all and would not recommend anyone. read more

I brought a car in that had been parked under a tree. It looked worse than it was. I knew this because it had rained and just that was enough to loosen and even remove some of the mess. The interior wasn't bad since there are thick almost immovable mats on all the floors and the trunk. The seats needed to be cleaned, again, not horrible. I was quoted a price that I thought was a bit high; $180.00 but figured that this site said they were good and it is local so I went there. When I went to pay I was told the total was $30 more because the exterior was so bad. No call, just told when it was finished. They also wanted $40 more for cleaning inside of the headlights. I don't know, I've cleaned a car and would have if I'd had the time, I think the price was really high for what the finished product looked like. The seats need to be cleaned better and the exterior, for all the "extra" needed did not look so great. They probably didn't even do the carpets since they were totally covered by the huge mats. I had just bought the car and the old owner said he would pay for the detailing. I told them that and when they said they wanted to do the headlights, it was..."the sellers paying for it so why would I care?" I would not recommend them to anyone. I was hesitant about even bothering with this review but then realized that this site is why I did go there and I wouldn't want someone else to make the same mistake. Last time I had a detail done I went to D&M in Rockaway. Much better choice. They even covered some small dings in the paint. Very disappointed. read more
