The steps in front of the house needed to be replaced. A number of contractors asked me to take…read morepictures of the steps with my smartphone and text it to them. It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

I'm glad we chose them, their team of subcontractors were on the job site every morning on time and ready to go. They handled the work efficiently, with skill, and we could not be happier with the results so far. They have to come back and do a little finish work, and some additional work we would like them to do that was outside the original scope of work (yes, we asked them to do more, that is how much we liked their service).

I met with Kurt for the initial estimate and he was great in pointing out the kind of work that needed to be done and took the time to answer all of my questions. Once I made the decision to go with 3 Generations, I started working with Jeremy who went the extra mile to meet me at my work to sign the paperwork and select the type of siding for the house. We signed the paperwork in the late Fall, which is a busy time for them but Jeremy was always up front with their estimated timing, which I really appreciated. Once the work started, the job was completed pretty quickly. Again, Jeremy and his crew were very communicative and kept me updated on the status of the work until it was done. They also fixed some plywood dry rot and installed new plywood as well as correcting some roof deck problems in addition to all of the siding replacement. I've included some pictures the old siding, which was cracked and loose as well some pictures of the new siding to show the improvement. From my experience, I would recommend 3 Generations Improvements for any siding or repair work you may need!

About five years ago, he installed a…read morepatio cover for me, and everything was great--until about a year ago when I noticed leaking underneath it. Naturally, I was concerned and reached out to him. He came out right away, took the time to thoroughly inspect everything, and explained in detail why he believed the patio cover itself was not the issue. He checked the slope, sealed areas to rule out seepage, and made sure nothing was being overlooked. A couple of months later, after speaking with several stucco contractors, I was told repeatedly that the patio cover had to be the problem. Feeling confused and overwhelmed, I reached back out to Dan and shared what others were saying. Even though he still believed the issue was coming from somewhere else--possibly the stucco or second-story windows--he didn't hesitate to come back out. This is where Dan truly went above and beyond. Despite not believing he was at fault, he took extra steps to help eliminate any doubt. He installed additional downspouts and full-length counter flashing, which required removing stucco, just to ensure that water could not possibly be getting in from the patio cover. This was not a small job. That level of integrity and customer care is incredibly rare. During the process, once everything was opened up, he was able to clearly show me that the real issue was faulty second-story windows--not the patio cover. He had been right all along. But what stood out the most was his attitude throughout the entire experience. Not once did he make me feel bad for questioning it or listening to other contractors. He remained patient, professional, and genuinely kind the entire time, even when it would have been easy to say "I told you so." At that point, I was feeling extremely overwhelmed between conflicting opinions and high quotes. Dan didn't stop at proving the issue--he continued to help. He guided me in the right direction, recommended the proper solution (including new construction windows instead of retrofit and elastomeric paint for the stucco), and connected me with trusted contacts to completely resolve my issue. Dan is the kind of person you hope to find but rarely do. Honest, knowledgeable, patient, and truly committed to helping his customers--even when he doesn't have to. He went far out of his way for me and my family. I'm incredibly grateful for his time, effort, and integrity. If you're considering working with him, don't hesitate. Not only does he do exceptional quality patio covers but he stands by his work, takes pride in what he does, and treats people the right way. (06/27/25 update Have reinstalled hasp latch correctly - but, it appears they tried to bend to work with their lack of knowledge as to how hasp locks work... installed correctly, screws are not accessible.... Needed to buy new hasp lock. Their installation had all screws easily accessible, meaning putting a lock on door was a waste of time. I WAS so impressed & pleased with their work, I'm have him bid on completing a pool to deck conversion. Apparently, he didn't want to work with my choice, so, nothing more was said. I recommend KGA for your projects, with your supervision to make sure you are getting what you want.. Painting is done. Have several areas to touch up.

I never write reviews, but David did such a great job that I felt compelled to write one. First, David replaced three very old, outdated valves. What I appreciated most was that he took the time to explain what he was doing and how the valves and solenoids work together with the controller as a system. As someone who knows very little about sprinkler systems, I really appreciated the clear explanation. Second, he installed four new sprinklers, one of which was a challenge because of the concrete surrounding the PVC piping. In addition, he replaced eight heads, six risers, and capped one sprinkler. He adjusted every single head across four stations and zones, walked me through each zone, made careful micro-adjustments, and explained how everything worked. Lastly, he left my backyard spotless and looking as good as new. I would not hesitate to work with Mark and David at First Class Irrigation again. Speaking of which, I am thinking of having them convert my sprinkler system into a low-maintenance drip irrigation system with a Rachio controller in the near future. Highly recommended!

Deome 2 Builders just replaced two 17-year old decks we have in our backyard. Our first encounter with the company was Harley Deome. He came to our house and gave us a bid. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was very honest with us on the possibility that the sub-structure could have dry rot. I felt that telling us that in the beginning was very good, so we were not going to be surprised with a problem we had not heard about in the beginning. All in all, the first connection we had with the company was great. We signed up. When we started the project, Fred Deome met us and went over everything again. Again, everything was up front, and we felt he also was very honest and gave us a very clear picture of what was going to happen and what could happen if there was dry rot in the sub-structure. Finally, we met the two people who would be doing all the work. Tony and Tahlon again explained what they were doing and got started working tearing out the old decking. They were very polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. They were easy to talk to and answered all our questions. They never seemed to mind that I was around a lot watching. They also cleaned up at the end of each day and made sure all their material, tools, etc. were put away, and the yard was perfectly clean. They did find some dry rot, and the repairs they did made our deck even better than when it first was built. They really made sure every detail on our deck was done to perfection. They produced some of the best and professional work we have ever had done on, or around, our house. We are very pleased with the final project. We hired Harley and his team in October 2015 to build a completely round Trex deck, 20ft in diameter. The deck had a step up, and about 15 deck lights. We used two different colors of decking to create some interest and pattern in the deck. The team led by Tony came out and did an awesome job and constructed the deck in about 1 week. They really took extra care in the framing to create a very solid structure. Over the last three years the deck has been rock solid, no squeaks, creaks or lose boards. Sadly, the deck has provided shelter to the occasional rodent, and over the three years they chewed through the wire to 12 of the 15 deck lights. I contacted Harley again, and Tony came back and spent a day replacing wire and fixing the broken lights. Obviously I was willing to pay for these fixes as it isn't really covered under warranty, but Harley refused to take any money for the repairs. Great customer service, and the deck looks like new again. If you're looking for great workmanship and a long lasting deck I can recommend Harley and Deome 2 builders read more

We had a new large deck, lattice wall, some concrete pavers installed for the landing and a new fence put in by this contractors. They were responsive to the client needs, willing to offer design ideas and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right and were in line with price. They worked with the City building department to make sure everything was done per code and the inspector was happy. There were no short cuts in anything and I was happy with my new deck. I appreciate when a contractor is honest and willing to go the extra step to get the job done right. He also answers his e-mail and txt messages within hours, day or night which most contractors do not. The crew was respectful of the property and worked efficiently and didn't mind me constantly asking questions. They have a well seasoned crew that knew what they were doing. I called dozens of fence contractors to rebuild my entire backyard fence and received quick response from Deome2. Harley came out and quoted a very fair price, but what I especially appreciated was his professionalism and attention to detail in his quote. Compared to other competitors Deome2 was by far superior in response, price, and quality of workmanship. Fred was out to oversee the construction team. He and the entire crew were just as professional and far exceeded my expectations in quality of work. One notable example is how Michael and Eli both kept the jobsite extremely neat and organized throughout the project. I made a point to speak to each regarding my appreciation for their pride of workmanship which these days is very hard to find. We contracted with them to replace our existing redwood deck with a deck constructed of Trex. Their sales representative, Harley, came out to the house to look at the existing structure & give us some ideas with respect to using Trex as a replacement. Very informative & professional in his presentation, and how he wrote up the contract for our job. Fred was very professional in his approach to reviewing the site prior to the removal of our old deck and the start of the new construction. The crew who arrived to complete our project seemed very knowledgeable and competent about their work. They started and completed the project in about 2.5 days total. They hauled away all the old materials and cement pier blocks. The area was cleaned up so well it is hard to tell they had even been there. I highly recommend this company if you are considering a new deck or replacing your old one. read more

Cannot say enough good words about the work Deome does! The last remodel job at our house was to rip out and replace a large, 2 level deck in our backyard. Frankly, we had been putting it off because of prior bad experiences with multiple contractors, and are happy to report that there ARE good, honest contractors out there. Fred and Harley are very skilled and knowledgeable and designed the perfect deck with all the features we wanted in a slightly different footprint. We were able to save our patio cover/trellis, and they had a painter sand and repaint it to match the new Trex composite we picked out. Their workers are real craftsmen. We hired Harley and team to build us a deck and shade structure. The area for our deck would require some imagination as far as shape and also the placement of our shade structure. We are thrilled with the results. We have a beautiful Trex deck that completely fills the space. The shade structure provides us with the most shade possible and really looks great. The structure was pre-wired for a ceiling fan, control and multiple outlets. Harley was very responsive from the first time we called to schedule an estimate through to completion. After enjoying the decks for 4 years we found a minor repair needed on the smallest deck. Our Hardie Board…read moresiding contractor referred Eugene to us when we needed major deck work, which involved our existing waterproof membrane on a large section of our upper deck over a downstairs room, as well as repairing our deck boards and railing. Eugene was patient and thoughtful as we discussed various options to maintain and protect the waterproof membrane and strengthen the structural integrity of our expansive decks on a hillside. He was mindful of our budget and, as a general contractor, identified and repaired another area in our crawlspace. He came up with creative solutions, and he has a great sense of design and style. We ended up replacing our upper deck with Trex composite boards. On the lower deck, his crew replaced most of the redwood boards and repainted the deck, even the wooden joists of the upper deck, for both wood preservation and aesthetic purposes. His crew paid attention to details. He also did the stone facing on our portico. Eugene went above and beyond. He's honest, experienced, and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend working with Eugene Beily.

I needed some help fixing a few things in my trailer that I didn't have the time to deal with…read more Roman took care of fixing some leaking PEX fittings under the kitchen sink, adding silicone to the kitchen sink and bathroom sink, as well as fixing many of the cabinets in the trailer that had the glass fall out of them (the hot glue used at the factory degrades quickly and the glass just falls out!). There was a lot of water damage to the base of the island from the leaking PEX fittings, and I hired Roman to replace it, but instead of charging me for the bigger job he told me that it would be a lot easier to just cover the water damage with additional boards since finding the matching color would be really difficult. It looks just as good, and it saved me some money. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any future needs.

Several…read moreyears ago, Scott and his team replaced one of those two side sections, replaced some rotted boards on the main deck and repaired some issues with the substructure. So, we knew who to call when we made the decision to replace the main deck and the other side section entirely - no more "patching up". Our experience with Thrasher Construction, on that previous project, was so good, we didn't bother to get a competitive quote. We trust him implicitly to be fair and complete, right up front. From demolition thru completion Scott and his team worked steadily, finishing the job in two weeks. We couldn't be happier with the results. The entire deck is now properly built (as opposed to the way the original contractor had done it) and promises to be very long lasting. Also, before -- the railing structure had become "wiggly" (for lack of a better word).
