True to their name. I've been having my shirts pressed here for almost a year now and have always been happy with the quality of the job they do, the reliability of their next-day pickup, and their friendly service. You may pay a small premium for this dependability (they are not called "Budget Cleaners"...) but pick what matters to you. I've never had a problem with the coupons, which I use quite frequently. They charge you when they clean your clothes, not when you pick-up (which could be days later) so just include the coupon when you drop your clothes off and you're fine. A special shout-out to the Store Manager Annette, who went out of her way to personally drop our laundry at the main cleaner so that we could get it back same day even though we had missed the same-day cut-off. I went to take my wedding dress to be drycleaned. I was told it would be $285 over the phone. When I arrived the staff did not know much about the process. When the information was entered the gown price doubled because it was a designer gown. Even though there was no beading or embellishment on the dress I asked why the price would double because it was designer. They called the manager and he had no reasoning whatsoever. Even the two women working there thought it was crazy. What a rip off!! I don't usually get excited to pick up my dry cleaning; however, this place isn't usual. Latoya is amazing and always remembers my name when I come in, and all my clothing looks stellar. I need to get my work uniforms dry cleaned once a week, so I need a reliable place to have them done. If they need to keep them longer for extra stains, they will call and let me know, so I can plan around it. And they're pretty inexpensive, at least for shirts (considering the location). I literally laughed when I opened the dry cleaning bag for a very expensive jacket I have had that has been stained for a year now (after repeated trips to various dry cleaners). It looked brand new, and that is not an exaggeration. This place isn't even in the same league as other dry cleaners. They do everything perfectly. I found this place on YELP two years ago and have been consistently amazed with their customer service (for instance, they'll bring your clothes out to you if you're double parked) and the perfection with which they clean and mend clothes (for instance, if a button is falling off the sleeve of a jacket and you want to have it sewn on such that it doesn't come undone in another couple months, this is your place). read more

This is my first time and last time doing my business here. First of all, when I dropped of my dry- cleaning including suits and goose jackets. I gave the receptionist my wooden hangers and garment bags. She gave me back the garment bags but my wooden hangers that I use to travel. She said she will return after the dry-cleaning. When I picked up my dry-cleaning, they didn't give me back the hangers. So I called asking if they still kept them. They said no and they usually recycled hangers. I asked why they didn't tell me ahead when I dropped off and the response I got was that she didn't know in a very irresponsible customer service voice. I know it may be little thing for you. I just prefer the wooden hangers because they are stable to travel with (compared to wire hangers). They should have arrested the policy more clear to the customers. And their customer service is very not welcoming when you come dropping off and picking up. Secondly, with the price I paid for dry-cleaning here, the quality of their dry- cleaning service doesn't not match the price. My suits came out after dry- cleaning, the material is not soft like it used to be. The suit material came out very off and "sandy" very off. Really very good cleaners. The staff at this particular location understand that people can be anal about their clothes, so they actually LISTEN to you when you are trying to tell them something about a particular piece. They take it upon themselves to sew on a button, or let you know that they found a torn hem and would you like it repaired. The ladies are really nice there, too. My only complaint is that they're a bit pricey. But the adage is true "you get what you pay for." read more

I just moved to Boston and started using Dependable Cleaners due to the convenient location on Newbury and Clarendon near my home and office. In the span of just two short months, I have experienced (i) poorly cleaned and finished dress shirts (including NEW stains appearing on shirts that previously didn't have any stains when I dropped them off, as well as poor ironing on shirts that miraculously didn't come back stained), (ii) small holes or other fabric damage in dress shirts, and (iii) a lost pair of dress slacks. After the first few incidents, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured that all dry cleaning services have flaws. But after experiencing the same issues on multiple occasions now, I'm not sure why I'd return to Dependable Cleaners. I don't have the time to thoroughly hand-check every item I get back, nor do I have interest in being forced to replace expensive articles of clothing that are ruined or lost through no fault of my own. There are simply too many other dry cleaners in Boston to justify tolerating such poor and costly service. read more

Won't go back again. It took over 2 weekes to get a comforter delivered. All the while they tried to get me to come pick it up after I already paid for the delivery charge. Would give 0 stars if possible. Dropped off Diane Von Furstenberg dress that had been cleaned by other dry cleaners, and when I picked it up from Dependable it was totally stretched out. Went from being a cute, fitted dress to a giant sheet - it was so stretched out the fabric was now see through. I brought it in and they immediately noticed the problem - the see-through material and how stretched out it was - and said they'd send it back, so now I'm just waiting to see what they can do with it. I really hope they can fix it, as it was expensive and I absolutely loved the dress - it was also not even 6 months old. If they're able to fix this I'll up my review, but I'm just hoping they can at this point - not sure how you can un-stretch materials. read more

I am not sure what is going on with Dependable Cleaners... they seem to be doing a very poor job with the orders. The cleaning and pressing of the clothes is still good, however, a couple times while a the store I had seen cusomers complain about their orders being messed up or incomplete. Unfortunatedly, today it was my turn. My suit is no longer a suit, but only a skirt and the employee was not only absolutely useless... she was also super slow. They were unable to find my garment in the "no name" box... and that is it! Very poor customer service. read more

They should seriously consider changing their name to UNdependable cleaners. I wanted to like them because they have such a convenient location and hours. This is the only 1 star review I have ever given in my life....because this place is THAT bad. I picked up my clothes from the wash and fold service and came home to find them covered in pink stain. How could they have missed it while they were folding?! It was so obvious my white shirts were covered in pink. Anyway they said they would pay for the dry-cleaning to have the pink stains taken out. So I had to lug my pink stained clothes back to store. The pink stains still remained on a few pieces of clothes including my $60 pair of scrubs. It looks as though they tried to bleach them out because my scrubs now look tie-died. I have to throw them away. So I am out my work uniform and $60. Horrible customer service. If you remotely care about any items you own I would not recommend this place. It also seems disorganized and the employees are not overly friendly. They should have offered to pay for the items they completed destroyed for a price match. It's a basic life rule to "return things the way you found them if not better". read more

So NOT dependable. They cleaned my suit pretty well but they have the worst customer service ever. Especially a guy named Bruno and the manager Francisco. I dropped off my suit on friday and Bruno took it no problem and then when i went to retrieve it the troubles started. I had already paid when i dropped the jacket off but they insisted that I pay again. I presented them my receipt and apparently it was a receipt for the suit and not payment but I didn't know because that was the only slip of paper Bruno handed me. I argued with the other customer reps but they refused to give me my jacket until I paid again. I asked to speak to the manager but he was away and they didn't want to call him either. After arguing for 20 minutes I had to pay again and they told me to come back on Monday to speak to the manager because they did not have the authority to refund my money. I go on Monday to find out Francisco is not at the store as promised but the idiot Bruno was. He called the manager who I asked to speak to this time and he said that he talked to Bruno and Bruno denies any wrong doing but that he would have to check the security tapes. Seriously people, security tapes???? Its a $8.54 payment and you need to check security tapes. When has the customer ever been wrong? Again, I was told to come back the next day. The next morning I received a call from Francisco saying I could pick up my money at any time. No apology or recognition of wrong doing on their part or the trouble it caused me. This is the kind of people that run dependable cleaners. Not dependable, and certainly not worried about repeat customers or bad publicity. read more
