When I relocated to Brighton three years ago, I began searching for cleaners conveniently located near my home. This would allow me to pick up my clothes while running errands. I discovered Linh Cleaners and have been a loyal customer ever since. However, this loyalty did not come without its challenges and drama. Linh would often make excuses for the extra stains found on your clothes while in his care, whether a sweater was ruined or had particles on it or if he misled you after you provided specific instructions on how you wanted your jacket or pants hemmed. Linh tends to do as he pleases, and when he damages your belongings or fails to clean them properly, it's somehow your fault. He also loves to pass judgment on you if you are a person of color based on the experiences of other people of color who have frequented his business. For someone like me who brings him clothes every week for dry cleaning and outfits to be tailored, he often makes remarks like, "Oh, you are fancy," "You party a lot, or You like money." Unbeknownst to him, I am in ministry, and as a minister, I take great pride in keeping my shirts clean and my suits fresh. I ignored this because I needed my clothes cleaned, and he was a 10-minute walk from my home. After six brand new jackets were sent to him to be tailored four, he did his way, ignoring my instructions. He soiled a brand new white collar shirt and said, "It was the material or something I wore." Two brand new chinos with tags sent for him to be tailored ended up with oil stains on them, and he said I didn't notice the stains when I purchased them (Yea, I know)! All of the stuff he ruined he never offered a refund. LINH is a lousy businessman, liar, racist, and narcissistic person. If you value your belongings and work hard for them, avoid doing business at all costs. He will never admit his wrongs and would rather lose business. Why did it take me three years? Because I do not like change, and I am an optimistic person who is loyal to a fault! But its 2025 And I chose me! Do not bring your clothes to LINH CLEANERS. He doesn't care about your stuff, just the money. read more

This place is a joke. I live across the street, brought a dress in for a wedding in which I told them I was the maid of honor and NEEDED the dress by a certain day. They had over a week to hem it a few inches and take the bust in less than an inch. I showed up the day I was told to, they couldn't find the dress and made me go behind the counter to look myself. Once I finally found it, the safety pins were all still in and nothing was done. They hadn't even touched it. I was obviously upset, they didn't offer a discount at all, and it was already pricey for a hem job, but I was desperate. Cheap prices and quality service. The owners are very friendly and always give a warm greeting. I got a men's button down shirt dry-cleaned for $2.50 and a women's gown for $10! Such a good deal without compromising the quality. read more

I haven't written a review in years, but this place had such a great aura I felt I needed to. I walked in and was automatically greeted by an older couple who I assumed were the business owners. I needed my pants hemmed and they assisted me with such a genuinely kind energy I have not seen in a while; especially in Boston. They listened to what I specifically wanted with no complaint. It's true what they say, customer service has the power to determine how your business will thrive. This place has exceeded my expectations so far and I didn't even receive my pants yet. A couple of years ago, the owner of the late Royal Cleaners saved me from the shame of a break-up when he announced that he was going on a long vacation to his native Greece (just ahead of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's seizure of his business, I later found out) thus leaving me free to experiment with other dry cleaners in the neighborhood. The store sat abandoned for some time until, a few months ago, Linh Dry Cleaners opened in Royal's former space. Although the former owner's posters of Athens still adorn the walls, the store seems brighter and cheerier than it used to. Mr. Linh is a very nice man and seems to do decent work; his prices are just a bit lower than some of the other local establishments. I don't think Mr. Linh's English is very advanced, however. I have some relatives for whom English is not a first language and I can tell when someone understands what I'm saying and when they're faking it. I don't care if Mr. Linh doesn't understand my response to his query about the weather but as long as he knows what "light starch in the shirts, please" and "don't crease the chinos" mean, I think we'll be OK. Of course I'm riddled with guilt about leaving my old dry cleaner, who speaks perfect English and greets me by name but he's a whole block farther away from me. That might not mean much now but come February that extra block of un-deiced sidewalks will be a deal breaker. In the meantime, I guess I'll split my clothes between my two dry cleaners. I'm hoping they don't find out about each other but I know that sooner or later I'm going to hand over the wrong claim check and my little charade will be over. "Sweetie, you're the only one for me. I love Linh! I live directly across the street and he's definitely the reason I do not want to move. I am a very petite person and almost every pair of pants/dresses I buy I need to be hemmed or taken in, I take everything to him. His wife does the alterations and they are fantastic! And the prices really cannot be beat. I have also brought my husband pillow, which is impossible for me to wash, and a few other garments, everything comes back so clean! I tested him once and said I didn't think he could get a certain tricky stain out and he gladly took that challenge and returned to me a clean, once again, perfectly white shirt! I really couldn't say more about how glad I am to have Linh so close, all my friends who live nearby go see him, he's very trustworthy too. I went in here after I ripped a hole in the sleeve of one of my dress shirts. Another tailor told me it could not be fixed but the owner here was very friendly and eager to do the work. The tailor had great hands and you can not tell where the repair was made, the shirt was ready I. Two days and washed and ironed too. I would highly recommend them read more

I went in to see if I could have a dress altered and returned by the end of the week. Instead of simply saying they couldn't do it in the time frame I needed, the lady/co-owner suggested that I should just "eat less and lose weight" instead of trying to get the dress altered. This is incredibly offensive and beyond unprofessional. I will never go back to this place or recommend it. read more

I'm so happy I read the reviews and went here. I had two bridesmaids dresses that needed to be hemmed, one of which had a very delicate strap design in the back that needed to be taken in. It is very small and tight quarters for the alterations to take place, but the couple that own it are so nice and very efficient. I had my doubts and worries about the straps on the dress, but they did a fantastic job with both items, and were very reasonably priced. read more

I need simple alterations done on my winter jacket. When I phoned in, I was reassured that they can make any changes I asked for. Upon arrival, they couldn't do most of what I wanted, so I left the jacket with a simple request to sew in a cuff and clearly agreed that it would be ready in a week. Needless to say, I arrived a week later and the work was not even started. The owners were not even apologetic. This is a huge shame because I want to support small owner-operated business but this behavior is totally unprofessional. Given that most people need alterations for a specific date or time, I would not recommend this business if you wanted a dependable and reliable tailor. read more

Came to Linh Dry Cleaners to get some pants hemmed after reading good views on yelp. I started off with one pair and the pants weren't done the day after they said they would be done (dropped off on a Saturday morning, was told them would be done Wednesday, came in Thursday and they still weren't done). However, they were done really well. I brought in two more pants the next day and gave them a little longer and they were done when I needed them crisp and exactly how I wanted them. The employees are helpful and pleasant and the prices are beyond fair. Definitely a good spot to get simple alterations and dry cleaning done. read more

3/2/18 Update OK, so the man and his wife are magicians when it comes to alterations. I had alterations done on a skirt and pants suit recently and they did an AMAZING job! I'm beyond happy with their work! Place to go for alterations for sure! They are so excellent that I don't mind the trip across town to get to the place. 2/25/15 Wow! This place exceeded my expectations! I went there to get alterations done on fairly complicated dress and everything turned out so perfectly! Thank you so much Linh!! When I lived near Linh's (just a block away) I used their services often. Dry cleaning was always done for a great price, was done quickly, and was done well. I never had a single complaint! I brought in coats, dresses, quilts... I once brought in my grandmother's 50 year old wedding dress that had been stored in her basement. It was dusty and slightly discolored... Mr. Linh told me that it was a difficult clean, but it looked just beautiful afterwards. I also brought in multiple dresses for alterations. They always ended up looking fantastic and fitting great. One time a dress was taken in a little too far -- brought it back and they fixed it right away. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I always felt great about bringing my things there, and Mr. Linh is incredibly pleasant and friendly and timely. read more

You will find no friendlier, professional, inexpensive dry cleaner in Boston. Linh has the best prices and quick turnaround. I really cannot say enough good things about Hung and his co-workers. If you need a zipper fixed, no problem. Leather purse redone, Hung will do it for the price of a cup of coffee. I just love the fine creases in my pants after they have been pressed. Who needs an iron and iron board when the prices are so good and your clothes look 1000 times better. Really, treat yourself well and come here. You won't be sorry. read more

I've been going to Linh's for the last few years and have consistently been impressed. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a very fast turnaround time. There has never been a stain that they haven't been able to remove, most recently a permanent black marker from a dress. Their staff/owners are incredibly friendly and helpful.
