This place offers great services and fair prices for the location. The lady who runs the store is very kind and amicable. I pay about $20 every time I go to drop off for wash and fold service, which I think is a good deal given how much clothing I bring. Definitely recommend to the many living in this area without an in-unit washer & dryer! read more

I've been coming to Allegro for about a year now for dry cleaning and have had consistent problems with the service. I've had to bring the same dress back 4 times because a simple stain wasn't properly cleaned. The dry cleaning never comes back clean, I've always had complaints with the outcome of dry cleaning, especially sweaters. There are other places in south end that do a much better job. I'd avoid this spot. Tailoring is fine, no room to change so you have to go behind the register. No mirror. You can drop UPS packages here, that may be the only positive. read more

Do not recommend! Why isn't there an option for ZERO? I dropped off my Doctoral ROBE for commencement. When I picked it up, the velvet that runs down either side of the zipper was GONE (SEE PHOTOS). You could see the shreds left behind. It was on a Saturday pickup, the owner wasn't working that day, I left. As I wept on my way home because it was RUINED - I assumed that it was a mistake that would be fixed. I returned and the owner said "maybe it's old." It's not. "Im not sure what happened" Me neither but its your responsibility to fix it. The owner says that the cleaning is outsourced and she calls the actual cleaner. He insists that its old (its not), then he says he didn't see it before he sent it back. AGAIN, not my problem. My doctoral robe is ruined. After 10 minutes of back and forth, they agree to reimburse once I bring receipt. I bring the receipt, and ask for a check and my doctoral robe back. The owner says " I keep the robe." WHY? I refuse to let the owner keep it. I insist that I will get reimbursed and my robe back? The owner says she will reimburse only half if I take the robe. NOPE. I remind her its ruined and she isn't buying it off me - she's paying for the mistake. She is reluctant to call the actual cleaner, she does and they speak ( she does not let me speak to him). She says, "he said it's up to me." I continue to stand there because I'm not leaving without a check AND my robe. She finally writes the check and hands me my COMPLETELY RUINED robe. I shouldn't have to negotiate this. If you ruined it, you are responsible for replacing it. I am still heartbroken read more

Not professional at all . It seems as though there are immature adults or kids who work here . I called due to my package being delivered by Ups and whoever was working would answer the phone and mock what I say or would just keep hanging up in my face and ignore my calls , they obviously don't want to work ... how pathetic and bad for the business .. ZERO-STAR. I dropped off five coats to have dry cleaned and when I came to pick them up, they were all messed up. For one of my down jackets, the down was completely matted down. None of the jackets looked like they had been cleaned at all. Would have been better to just not bring them in at all. At least they wouldn't have been ruined. I removed the fur from the hood of one jacket and am glad I did because it saved one part from getting destroyed by their "cleaning". Terrible. A bad experience all around. I will definitely not be returning and will not recommend to any of my friends. read more

This is a tiny little place to get your dry cleaning done. A bit out of the way unless you live close by. Saturday morning-I dropped of my coat which hasn't been cleaned since I bought it about 4 years ago, had a few stains..oooooooops. Monday after 5pm- pick it up. The lady that works there is really nice and friendly. they did a pretty good job when I finally got home and looked at it. It looked brand new! The only gripe was that they had broke the buckle that went to the belt of my coat and they didnt tell me. I did wonder why the belt was hanging over the top of my coat. luckily though, it was only a minor chip and it was nothing that super glue could not fix. It cost $16 to have my long coat dry cleaned. Not bad as I am not sure how much other places charge. But with the quick and friendly service- i would bring my other clothes here. read more

THIS SHOP IS DESPICABLE. Never take your dry cleaning to this most filthy and disorganized store. To think they are in the cleaning business and yet can not keep the appearance of the store in a presentable manner. I'm not a happy camper! I used to bring my shirts here weekly to be dry cleaned. Whatever process they use, they repeatedly broke buttons off of my shirts and caused them to easily crumble upon buttoning my shirts. Allegro fixed some of the shirts. The next week they lost two of them completely! After 12 of my shirts had bad or missing buttons, I took my biz elsewhere! read more

I took my lunch break to bring my 23 lbs of laundry to for the wash and fold. I arrived at 12:01 pm and there was a sign on the door saying "will be back in 5 min." I waited until 12:43 pm for the attendee to return. Myself along with two other people waited in the cold weather for what was the longest"5 Minutes" I have ever stood on a doorstep for. The other two customers eventually left to go to another Wash and fold. Upon returning and collecting my laundry, the attendee did not offer me any compensation for my time waiting, missing my lunch hour, and being late to a meeting at 1 pm. This experience was incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. read more

Went for wash and fold service. Couldn't be happier. $1/lb. Great service and very timely. My clothes were clean and wrinkle free.

2 issues: - dropped off a pair of women's brown wedges to get shined - they told me 3 days, and they couldn't quote me a price because they send it out. They told me the shoe shine person would call me. Call never happened. I came back 11 days after dropping them off, and hand the receipt over, and they tell me they aren't ready. I find that hard to believe and ask them to check again, and magically they find them with a second half hearted attempt. She pulls out the shoes, and the receipt is $30 - for a shoe shine. I told her I'm not paying $30 for a shoe shine, but they won't give me my shoes back unless I pay. There was no reasoning. - A matching suit came back from the cleaners 2 different colors. I ask them about this and ask what happened? Their response is the suit isn't matching and that I don't know my own clothes. She would take zero blame, and kept telling me that this isn't a matching suit. Zero ownership of faulty work. Don't ever go here. read more

The first two times of using there wash dry fold service, my laundry came out clean and decently folded. The third time, it looks like they had just thrown my laundry into the bag to get it done, it was incredibly wrinkled, my shirts were poorly folded. The price is great at $1\lb but they need to find a better place to outsource the service as this does not encourage me to try them again. FYI: They are open 7-7 during the week and do not take credit cards for there WDF service. read more

I never write reviews but I decided to today for Allegro alone. I am unsure of all the negative reviews but I have been coming here for years and decided to finally write a review because it is a small place on the corner but a TRUE GEM. I bring my Wash/Dry/Fold here weekly, always quick and convenient and the best price around. The dry cleaning is also reliable but I would have to say their alterations and repair are impeccable for the price they give for hands on craftmanship. The owner is very nice and they offer very reasonable prices especially compared to the surrounding locations in a hotspot of Boston. I think the biggest problem people may have with this place is things getting lost in translation. The owners English is great but not perfect so when people do not ask questions or clarify themselves I have whitnessed some miscommunications. As long as you ask questions, read all the signs they have, specify things for the workers, you should have no issue- I havn't! I am more than happy to support this small business and their lovely family so don't look over this place and go show them some love during these tough times. read more

Love this place! Been using them for drycleaning and wash-and-fold for years. Prices are good and never had my clothes damaged. Took off a star, because on occasion, I've found they close 15 minutes early or weren't open at all on a Saturday with no note - thereby leaving me in a naked bind Oh well, there is a more expensive cleaner across the street on Berkeley if it comes to that. read more

I created a Yelp account just to write this review. I will NEVER use Allegro Dry Cleaning again. Every time I drop shirts off to get laundered they come back with broken buttons and holes in the sleeves. There is no attention to detail, quality or customer service. Their excuse for everything is that the shirt was damaged when it was dropped off, while making no attempt to remedy the situation. Spend a few extra dollars at another dry cleaner and your shirts will thank you. read more

Wash and fold is cheap, but that's about it. Clothes appear clean, but don't smell like it. Dry cleaning always has issues. Nearly every shirt I get pressed comes back with damaged buttons, and their rationale was that they use a heavy press for the shirts. Huh? Maybe don't press so hard? Anyway, they've done it with every batch I've brought them, and I won't go there anymore. Too bad, since the pricing is reasonable for the area....then again, now I know the reason why! read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR SHIRTS RUINED! I would give this center 0 stars if it were possible, but 1 is the limit. I live near by and gave them multiple changes. Blouses would come back with stains on them that they had pre-marked. It is almost if they are never really cleaned. Long sleeve shirts come back with broken buttons and I received shirts back that were ripped in the arm, in the same exact place. Almost as if they were caught on something during cleaning. This happened a couple of times before I realized it must be happening during the process. When I brought the shirts back to ask, they immediately said they were ripped before they were cleaned. How could these shirts be ripped in the exact same spot on the exact same arm ? They took no action to remedy the situation, and I will never go back here. read more
