This place seems to have a lot of potential but I'm fully shocked an disappointed from my recent encounter. I had clothes and bedding picked up from my house. I didn't hear from them for 2 days (I thought it was a 24 hour service). I called and was told it was bc my card didn't go thru; made sense bc I had lost my card. It was now Saturday and my stuff was waiting around bc they did not make me aware of the issue. I was told it would all be delivered Monday. I showed up to grab it myself bc I needed my bedding. I was then told my comforter wasn't ready and would be delivered a week from the drop off (I didn't order any special service for it). I get home and my comforter was in the bag... I have no idea what they were gonna deliver next week. I open up the comforter and it has bleach stains on it. Brand new comforter is ruined, time wasted, super frustrating. ~~ Update: They paid for me to pickup a new comforter at Target & refunded my original wash cost. Thoroughly disappointed every time I drop clothes off. Pricing is always different even for the exact same items. Most recently I dropped a casual jersey dress off and they charged $47.61 claiming it was a formal dress - I didn't even pay that for the dress! Find somewhere else to go. read more

Regrettably, this marks the fourth instance in which I have observed an overcharge on my bill following a cleaning service. Despite bringing this matter to your attention on multiple occasions, it appears that the problem persists. I find it odd when I bring many (8 or more) dress shirts there has been one or two charged as a blouse at double the cost. All the shirts are the same material and it is quite obvious as to what is going on. That being said, I will no longer using your service after over 20 years. I will advise all customers to check your receipt for this type of discrepancy prior to paying your bill. read more

If I'm going to discredit one Dependable Cleaners, I have to give due credit to another. This location is just a mile away from the West Quincy location, yet it's worlds better. The customer service was perfect. The lady that received my clothes was totally cordial and polite. The person that returned my clothes when I showed up after was great as well. Everything was cleaned properly and I didn't lose anything here. The facility looks a lot nicer and cleaner here. read more

Really unhappy with my last visit here and won't be back. Prices are much higher than I remember but aside from that they insisted on dry cleaning poly-cotton blend dress shirts for no reason. These are not new shirts and I've had them laundered many times before and it has never been an issue. They charged me for the dry-cleaning without telling/asking me in advance when I specifically asked for laundry. They also didn't offer any refund when they told them I was unhappy with the bill. read more

Dropped off a shirt to have a stain removed and to have a rip sewn backup, they fixed the rip and never even tried to remove the stain. Was told they tried to remove the stain but you can tell they did not. The tag on the shirt had one price and I was told to pay a different amount. Would not recommend. read more

I switched to this dry cleaner from an independent one. My main motivation to switch was that the other one is never open and my social interactions there were usually awkward, coupled with parking difficulties. Dependable seems like a very solid dry cleaner. I haven't done a price comparison, but I am sure it is not the cheapest. However, their nighttime drop box is a godsend. I love that I can drop my bag in the middle of the night. They are also open seven days a week which is really helpful. The staff here are pleasant and I have not had any problems with my things being lost or ruined. I don't believe dry cleaners are miracle workers so I would be wary of trusting them with anything really important. One note is that the cost and turnaround time for a comforter is a little absurd. Apparently, they clean them off site and I think I paid $30 for a twin comforter and it took two weeks for it to come back. I think I will take my chances with my washer in the future. Otherwise, a great operation that keeps me looking put together. read more

This place just ruined my husband's leather jacket which is worth about three hundred dollars! The jacket came out a lot lighter and unevenly colored after cleaning. The owner told me they just made this jacket return back its original color. Since it is a lot lighter now, the oil stains and rain stains are so obvious. Also, my mother in law's Burberry jacket still came out dirty after cleaning which I made them re-clean for me. A TOTAL disaster. read more

This is a convenient location on Granite Ave. Easy to visit on the trip to or from work. Easy to find street parking, or in the lot across the street (although technically I think lot is for supermarket patrons only). Prices could be a bit more competitive. However they do issue coupon books each year. Some employees leave a bit to be desired. I got told by one that I should move to the next register because she wanted to help the man in back of me. Cliff Notes version of this review: 1. If you do bring your clothes here, check (and DOUBLE CHECK) you have every item; and 2. Also double check your bill to be sure they charged you correctly. My husband and I were looking for a dry cleaners that has a delivery service, and found Dependable Cleaners. We both have a lot of "dry clean only" clothes so we would often bring a dozen items (or more) at a time. To be fair, they did a fine job on cleaning our clothes -- my problem is strictly caused by the staff.... First, they over-charged us multiple times. I brought in a grey sweater that they billed as a blazer. They also billed a few of my blouses as dresses (and keep in mind, these were not overtly long shirts). Second -- and this is the larger issue for me -- they repeatedly forgot to give me items. On the first occasion, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for them to find one of my tickets (I had brought 19 items, and was missing 3). I was annoyed, but accepted it as a fluke and moved on. Now I wouldn't be writing this review if this didn't happen again. In order to have some of our clothes for the weekend, my husband went to the cleaners to pick up our clothes. In a rush, I didn't check the items until the next night. I realized that they forgot to give us a ticket AGAIN (which accounted for 3 items). My husband went back in the morning to fetch the items. They found them, but CHARGED OUR CARD AGAIN without saying anything. When he realized what they did, he rightfully asked for a refund, but they refused and offered us a credit. My husband continued to ask for a refund and said that he didn't want a credit because he wasn't sure we were coming back. Finally, they agreed to the refund but said we had to wait for the manager who wasn't in yet. It's only been about 5 hours since, but we still haven't gotten our money back. I'm so frustrated with this place because they actually do a good job with the clothes, but the staff is just incompetent. If we ever do use them again, it will be for one item at a time. read more

Love my Dependable Cleaners. Free Home Delivery. whoo! They are on the expensive side of things and it was a bummer that they got rid of the program where you could get 50% off after a certain amount of orders. However, they respond to any requests well. I put on one of my dress shirts from the cleaners for work and saw some white spots on it. This concerned me as the shirt was fairly new. I called and let them know. They asked me to leave it for the driver. They called me back the next day after the driver picked it up and told me what they thought it was from their process and they would try and re-wash it. It that was not successful, they would refund me the price of the shirt. That was Saturday. By Monday, I received a call that they were unsuccessful in getting the spots out and that either I could get the price of the shirt on my account or a check for the shirt. We bring in drycleaning about eight times a year here, so this location gets a fair amount of our business and our money. I brought in a tablecloth that was stained and was pretreated and asked whether it could be laundered or dry cleaned. First, they said it could not be laundered in house because it was a tablecloth and thus must be sent somewhere to get cleaned and pressed. So, I asked if they could make an exception and just launder it. The staffer said he would check with a manager to make sure that was okay. It took them a week to call me back with an answer because the staffer forgot about my piece. On the call, he repeated what is probably some legal statement they have to say, about how they can't be liable if the piece shrinks a lot. I stated that he was asking me to waive something that no customer would honestly agree to - to be okay with a lot of shrinkage in a laundered or drycleaned piece. He talks to the manager again and they decide they can't do anything with it at all. At no time does the manager offer to speak with me directly. This was terrible customer service. We give this business hundreds of dollars a year. Update: After posting this review, a manager called and agreed to take care of the tablecloth. I received the cleaned fabric in a week's time with no shrinkage. This came about only as a result of my posting, but I am grateful for the outcome and hope they reconsider their policy of asking customers to waive the company from any liability related to shrinkage and damage of garments. read more

I took my wedding dress here and from the beginning they were very nice and I felt like I could trust them with my dress. It has a lot of beading so it requires special care. They told me it would be done in a month but I got an email that it was completed within a week! When I pick it up it is packaged so beautifully and professionally! It looks like a doll dress. Lisenko and his team were very kind to quickly evaluate a used gown that I purchased online which unexpectedly arrived with several stains (that were several years old). He patiently diagnosed the issues and discussed the likely outcomes. He even tested a stain to make sure it would come out before doing a full cleaning. Dependable is clearly very experienced in dealing with all sorts of wedding gowns. I would trust them with my important gown or heirloom tablecloth, etc in a heartbeat. Broken buttons galore, and then they are so proud that they replaced it (with a button that doesn't match and totally wrong color thread).
