When I arrived here to pick up a bunch of shirts, the person at the front informed me that they "misplaced" one shirt (and it happened to be, by far, the nicest one) at some location in Braintree. However, he promised that he would have it delivered to me the next day. Tick, tock, tick, tock... I came to the store a couple days later, inquiring about my shirt. The lady at the counter finally returned my shirt without an apology. I really wanted to call for a manager (and perhaps in retrospect, I should have) but I just yearned for the return of my shirt. This place is a huge ripoff. Brought in two items for dry cleaning. I had some reservations when I saw that the ticket given to me didn't state the prices but I figured it wouldn't be too expensive so let it go. Came to pick up my clothes today and was told that they had charged $43 for one of the items. When asked about it, the manager (?) stated that yes it was expensive because it was a formal dress. Sure, that's true, but dry cleaning shouldn't cost half the price of the dress. Also, I've had it dry cleaned before and it's never cost anywhere near that much. I stated that it would've been good to have known the cost ahead of time. He didn't have a response for this as I'm sure he's well aware. Prices should be posted or at least on the ticket given when you drop items off. I shouldn't have to ask each time I go in how much they're going to rob me of this time. Sunday was my 1st visit to Dependable and I was impressed. The clerk took time to inspect every garment I brought in, and he gave me a coupon book for future visits. I've been to this location several times, and while I've always been happy with the quality, the customer service I just experienced was horrible, and this will absolutely be my last visit. I just dropped off 3 pieces, 2 of which had stains I wanted to call their attention to. Unfortunately, the woman was incredibly rude and would not let me point out the spots and told me that "they would look for them themselves". She went on to tell me that there's no guarantee that the stains will come out, which of course I understand, but it would have been nice to be allowed to show her where they were, especially given the exorbitant prices they charge. She also didn't ask if I wanted starch in the men's shirt, so who knows what we'll end up with. The woman was clearly rushing me out the door, even though no one else was in the store, or in line waiting. But hey, once I pick up my clothes tomorrow, you won't have to deal me wanting to show you my stains again. I'll be bringing that business elsewhere. read more

Would not recommend their wash, dry, fold service. Dropped my clothes off on a wednesday and was verbally told they would be ready Friday after 5. Went in Friday and was told they would not be ready until Saturday. Got a call from them Saturday asking if I needed the clothes or if I could wait till Monday. Told them I needed the clothes and was told to pick up between 5 and 6. Got there at 5 and had to wait 20 mins for them to finish up and then charge me $45.00. Most other places do it for u in the same day and are much more reasonable. I do not recommend them! read more

Where do I start? I was referred here by someone who has gotten their clothes dry cleaned there for years; maybe even decades. It was my first time there, and it will certainly be my last. They ruined my $300 Northface jacket and provided the WORST customer service. They attempted to fix it over the course of a month or so, and continuously pointed blame at me as if I was responsible for my coat not fitting. They shrunk my coat to the point where I am unable to zip it up. One of the workers there was incredibly rude when I came in to drop off the coat to asses it once emailing Customer Service and speaking with the manager. She barely allowed me to get a word in to explain myself and was defensive that the employees would do what the directions on the tag of the coat states. Funny because the zipper was warped indicating that it was put through the dryer. The employee asked me how many years I had the coat, which I took her as insinuating that I grew out of it. I wore the coat the previous weekend, and it fit me perfectly. All I wanted was for it to get cleaned since the last time I had gotten is dry cleaned was last winter. When I went back to pick up the coat after they "fixed" it. I tried it on before taking it home, and it still did not fit. The district manager was there, and she asked me if I had gotten it dry cleaned somewhere else before and how many times - insinuating that the other place had something to do with the condition of my coat. She also told me that she had the same coat and that the fabric of the coat does not shrink. Except she was wrong - the details on the Northface site says if it is put in the dryer at high heat, then it will shrink. The warping of the zipper told me that my coat was absolutely put in the dryer. They told me there was one more thing they could do to stretch out my coat an inch, and that after that there was nothing else they could do. I went back to pick it up, and when I brought it home it still did not fit. I called Customer Service to submit a complaint about my overall experience, and she told me that she would have the director call me on this matter. It's been over a week, and it's been radio silence... Best part - they charged me for the dry cleaning! I never got an apology or compensated for the service. And now I have to buy another jacket to replace the one they ruined... read more

This was the most disgusting place I have ever been. The entire facility smelled of cat urine and mildew. Not to mention, I had particularly unpleasant experience with the cashier Dania. I went in with my amazingly nice roommate to pick up our dry cleaning and her pants had not been pressed properly and were still incredibly wrinkled. Although it is unfortunate that the pants were not properly pressed, we were more upset with how poorly Dania treated us. Even before my roommate expressed her disappointment with the pants Dania was short and made it clear she did not want to be dealing with us. Then when my roommate asked for a receipt Dania nearly had a heart attack because it was such an inconvenience. Bottom line: steer clear of this place they DO NOT deserve your business. read more

One of the women at the front desk is very friendly. There is a younger girl who never can get my order correct. I have pointed out stains which she nods her head at. When I have come to pick up my order the stains are still there. They have put them through a second time and then got the stains out. This had happened twice, the third time I said forget it. I don't have time to keep coming back. I am not sure if it is laziness or what. The clothes also never smell clean, there is an odd odor. It is obvious at this location the staff cares a great deal about their customers! I'm not one to utilize dry cleaning services, but I stopped by to have a dress altered. As soon as I walked in I was genuinely greeted and helped immediately. I was fitted and sized and out of there within 10 mins! The alterations were completed by the following day and they were great! The staff is SO friendly I signed up for a VIP bag because I knew I would be back. Two weeks later I returned with a second dress to be altered. This time I had a time crunch... They completed it same day and I couldn't be happier. I also received a hand written thank you card that I appreciated more than anything. This place sucks. I used to regularly bring my dry cleaning here. Until they lost 2 of my wife's sweaters. I went to pick up our order, and kinda hesitated for a moment because I felt like something was missing. I immediately called my wife while still at the store to ask exactly what was dropped off and make sure I wasn't crazy. It was my suit, a pair of pants and two of her sweaters. When I approached the clerk and asked about the two missing sweaters the person wasn't helpful at all. Then accused us of being wrong or lying about it. WTF - I know this guy makes crap, but it aint my fault he's where he is. So I was pretty pissed, asked for the manager's info., etc. Long story short, eventually - after maybe 3-4 months got a reimbursement check for the sweaters. No real apology, horrible customer service, bad management, poor training, deadbeat employees. Haven't been back - this was years ago, but since I've recently joined yelp - they are now being held accountable for the negative experience. read more

We have been using Dependable Cleaners for the last several years because the staff is courteous, clothes are ready when they say they will be ready, and the work is done on-premises so clothes don't end up getting lost. One pair of paints had the metal front clip broken and wide;s sweaters all came back with lint on it. Looked like they had a dog in the store running around the clothes. All my shirts came back as if they were never dry cleaned and another pair of paints had wrinkles all over them. They were worse off then when I had took them in. Stay way from this place. I have been a loyal customer of Dependable Cleaners on Adams Street in Quincy for more than 10 years. I had always been very happy with their service. I am a busy professional with an even busier travel schedule. I dry-clean all of my work clothes, which would generally cost me around $300 per month. Dependable was always just that, dependable. I would have easily rated them 4 stars, with price being the only thing preventing a 5 star rating. For the last year or so, the quality has dropped significantly. My pants were frequently pressed incorrectly (with a crease when I specified no crease) and my sweaters were hung (when I specified folded to avoid stretching the shoulders). The counter staff were always very helpful and courteous, willing to re-do my order. They knew that this was a frequent problem and stated that it as the production staff not paying attention to the tags on the clothes indicating the special instructions. I just wanted the orders to be processed correctly the first time so that my clothes were ready for my frequent business trips when I needed them. I wrote to Dependable via their "contact us" link on the website. I received a prompt reply from the CEO telling me that the Director of Operations would be in touch with me. She contacted me that evening, apologized for my dissatisfaction and assured me that they had put a corrective action in place that would prevent this from happening in the future. She also stated that they would give me $50 in free dry cleaning for my troubles. I used this credit to test if they were able to fix the problem. To my disappointment, my pants returned creased and my sweaters returned on hangers....I decided it was time to find another dry cleaner. read more
