When I walked inside on a drizzle Sunday morning, I didn't realize how big this place is! It goes all the way back! And they serve everything from coffee, bagel, smoothies, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and everything!!! I ordered their chicken breakfast burritos and their peanut butter mocha. They were yummy!!! Coffee: so good. I don't know what I was expecting from the blended mocha but it was one of the best mocha frappes I've ever had! Food: mid, at best. I had a BTL and I could've made a better one at home. Bacon was burnt and I'm pretty sure I heard a microwave or something. The inside was spacious and there was plenty of seating. The only thing was there was no service in there. I think they had wifi but you couldn't send a text and my service was useless. Made my first visit here before another event in the area today. Glad I did as it has a good number of food options and the drink menu has something for everyone Located in a the nice city at the foot of the Sierra mountains, my window seat had a nice view of the sky, businesses, and just people enjoying the weekend day. The service was inviting and helpful as I looked at a number of items. Didn't feel rushed as this place has a steady stream of customers that are happy to be here. Seating inside has a number of options in different areas, include a front and back room which is handy if you have a people wanting to be together. I have noticed that most people keep trying to open the front door to the right that is locked. It would be helpful to either unlock the door or have an easier sign to notice to go to the left front door. More importantly, the only restroom is closed/not working. Overall, this is a popular place for to come by and enjoy yourself. Please give it a try, you will be glad you did. read more

Well, we blew past our regular coffee shop engrossed in conversation so I started looking up more stops on our route and Depoe Bay popped up as a Roaster who also served food. This was the place and we were happy to get in and get a table on a busy Saturday morning! I ordered my usual, an unsweetened Matcha Latte, my husband got a regular Latte and the kiddo had the German Chocolate Latte which he loved. We also split a chorizo breakfast burrito which was a good size and very yummy, service with some lovely chipotle salsa. My stepson had a bagel with cream cheese and he inhaled it so I am confident it was also very good. Some of our best coffee in this area! Do not sleep on their cookie butter latte...they make their own cookie butter cold foam that is insanely delicious! There is plenty of seating even ti accommodate the large crowd of people there, so that it didnt feel cramped. Tucked away right off of Main Street in down town Auburn this place is a great spot to stop by for a cup of coffee, sandwich or breakfast burrito. The prices are reasonable and the service is speedy despite it being a popular location. The walls are adorned with reasonably priced local art (some large pieces as low as $25). We got a panini and a breakfast burrito after a hike down by the confluence. Walking around downtown Auburn on an early Tuesday morning while my car was being serviced was like being in a ghost town without the tumbleweeds. Sidewalks were pretty well rolled up. Then I remembered reading about Depoe Bay coffee so wandered over there. They were doing a good business. I was a newbie and was slow perusing the menu trying to figure out what I wanted and didn't want to be in the way at the counter so I didn't get a good chance to study it nor did I see what I was looking for. There were a lot of fancy flavored drinks I just wanted a simple cappuccino or espresso but didn't see those or regular coffee on the menu. Yeah I could have asked but I just opted for a small coffee and an apple Danish which they graciously heated up for me. They have several different carafes of coffee to choose from. Since they were busy most of the tables were taken so I doctored up my coffee and took it to go. I imagine it's a great place to hang out on a cold winters day with a tasty steaming beverage and snack. The coffee was decent but didn't knock my socks off like Blue Bottle did years ago. I've been a loyal customer here for over 10 years and it used to be my favorite coffee spot. The coffee has always been good, and I enjoyed bringing clients here when passing through. Unfortunately, my last two visits were extremely disappointing. (Today was one for example) The staff was rude, unwelcoming, and made me feel uncomfortable just ordering my usual white mocha. Judging by other recent reviews, this isn't an isolated experience, which is very discouraging. It's frustrating to think about taking my business elsewhere, but I'd rather settle for overpriced mediocre coffee than deal with poor service and disrespectful attitudes. read more

The space is beautiful and comfortable, but the drinks are over-the-top sweet (think Starbucks x3). When asked to remake an undrinkable drink (I was very polite) I was met with sneers, eye rolls and impatience. No, I would not recommend this spot and will be checking out other coffee spots in the area. I have spent many years in food service and have actually never had more rude service (or worse coffee) than at Depoe. I hope they read this review and consider how the customer should be put first, but I doubt they will. This undesirable culture seems to permeate the cafe. read more

Depoe Bay Coffee Company shows that even smaller towns can enjoy a good cup of coffee. This combination coffee shop and roaster is located in downtown Auburn just off Interstate 80, but somehow miles away. Parking is decent with some off street spaces near the shop. The interior of the store is both basic and eclectic with lots of space. COVID has a lot of seating closed, but once the vaccine shots catch up to the espresso shots this place will likely be packed again. Line up next to the roaster. The menu is comparable to most coffee shops with a few favorites. I was somewhat disappointed by their baked good display, but it may have been sold out when I arrived. My order of an espresso and cinnamon raisin bagel took a little longer than normal with the drink and food at separate areas. The coffee was delicious and the bagel had a great texture. I can see why this place is popular. It's got a lot of charm and fresh roasted beans. It won't win any beauty contests, but Depoe Bay is a great find in a great town just a few minutes away from the urban jungle. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. My husband got sick from a coffee purchased there. I went in to ask for a bucket of water to clean his vomit off the sidewalk. As I came back in to return the bucket, I overheard the staff laughing about the 'guy throwing up outside'.
