The food could have been the best in the world and we would still never go back. After waiting about ten minutes for a table we waited another 45 for our food (pancakes and a waffle). I should have been tipped off when we got there and everyone was just sitting at their tables and talking instead of eating. This is a convenient spot for me however consistently screwing up my breakfast sandwiches.....simple request--- cheddar cheese instead of american! I guess I'll take the opportunity to mention please get some better cheddar. Only giving this review a 3star because the delicious Portuguese sweet rolls. We celebrated Valentine's Day at this in town diner. One of us enjoyed a breakfast burrito stuffed full of eggs, sausage...yum. The home fries were crispy and tasty. Service was slow and inattentive. The food was mediocre at best, my pancakes were undercooked, toast was burned. Waitress dropped off the food and never came back until we were done to give us the check, no coffee refills or checking to see how we were doing. So many better options in the area for breakfast, we won't be back. read more

Great breakfast with my husband. He had the deluxe omelet with grilled english muffins. He really liked his meal tasty and filling! I had the standard 2 eggs over easy, sausage, grilled English muffin and home fries. I loved my meal especially the crispy home fries. I will be definitely coming back for more. Had the most amazingly fresh HUGE fruit cup along with gluten free pancakes-yum! Best pancakes I've ever had. That morning they had made apple cider donuts so the whole place smelled like cinnamon. For a small, family owned diner in a quiet town, this place is a diamond in the rough. Very disappointing. After reading wonderful reviews was surprised that the food just was not to par. Ordered a 3 x 3 with a side of hash and an omlette with veggies and cheese. The hash that is claimed to be home made tasted like it came from a can and toss on the grill top to cook for a while. The omlette came with no cheese. Advised the waitress of the missing cheese her response was we can melt some on top or have the cook try to fold it in. Omlette came back to the table with unmelted cheese placed inside since the cook did not find it necessary to make me a new omlette but to just unfold and place cheese inside. Advised the waitress that I was not happy and did not like it, we were charged for it and also not even apologized to for the miatake. Nothing special. Won't be back. read more

I came across this place looking for a quick lunch on a Sunday. A few comments: They need to update the menu. We ordered 2 things and they were not available because they do not sell the items anymore. There is an eye sore of an old coke cooler that is still used for condiment storage. But you don't have to sacrifice quality. The "special" is $3.45 before 9:00am. That's all I ever get. ITS PERFECT! The "special" is two eggs over easy, home fries, toast and coffee. That the basis for my review. I've been there about a dozen times at about 7:30am on weekdays from 2016 to 2017. I had been searching for a place that does all 4 parts of my breakfast quickly at the lowest price for some time. If you arrive before 9am, this breakfast is $3.45 before tax! For details, read on. From Northern RI to Southern Worcester County in MA, this is the lowest price I've found, all inclusive. Some places charge extra for the coffee and/or home fries. The eggs are always perfectly cooked, yolks runny (which is what I want for dunking!), whites fully cooked and not crusty or brown. Some places find a way to disappoint with the eggs. These guys always do them right and they taste great! The toast is perfect. I always get the Italian bread which is what I consider the good version. Some places say they have Italian but it's not a good Italian more like cheap white bread. Their Italian has a nice hard crust with butter already spread and melted. Toast, perfect! Home fries are well done with an even crispy crust on ALL sides and some soft potato in the middle. Not burnt. They have cooked, with some caramelized, onions and salt and pepper. Home fries, Perfect!!! Most places simply don't know how to do home fries and you get soft mushy potatoes that have little to no crust or are way too salty. The coffee (which is included in the low price of $3.45!!!) is not bad. I like a darker roast, which this isn't, but it's also not weak like so many breakfast places. It's a decent and bottomless cup of joe!!! Some times I get green tea and they serve Bigelows, my brand. I can't speak to any other dishes because I've only had this one dish. I'm in and out in under 10 minutes. The server, she is very nice and calls everyone "hun" as in "honey". She's makes you feel at home. Service, Perfect!Thank you for reading this review. read more

Absolutely the best breakfast place i have ever been to. The food is great, the pancakes are as big as the dinner plates they're served on and the prices are insanely reasonable. The waiting staff, Rosie in particular, is incredibly helpful, kind, and down to earth and will stop at nothing to make you a valued guest at their breakfast cafe. The coffee is great (I drink it black, but cream and sugar never hurt) and the other drinks are served in larger cups to ensure a refill will likely not be needed. Although there is sometimes need for more space as i tend to eat here with a group of seven to ten, the wait staff wont hesitate to pull some tables together to make sure your group is seated together. It is a very close-knit cafe and if you've lived in Uxbridge for a while the staff and other people who eat there you will likely be a familiar face. If not, then you will get to learn them quickly. I have never had a single meal messed up or a wrong order placed and the service is very quick. This is also a restaurant where the speediness of the cooking does not hinder the quality of the meal as i have received meals easily only 5-10 minutes after ordering with perfect and consistent results. Parking in front of the building is limited to only a couple of spaced but luckily the Saver's Bank parking lot provides countless parking spaces at only a 30 second to a minute walk to the cafe. I try to eat here at least one to three times a week as i am never let down. This place offers a 100% satisfactory breakfast and a very homey and safe atmosphere. Their menu is very diverse for a breakfast menu, too, with many omelette options to choose from as well as large pancakes, muffins, french toast, and breakfast sandwiches. Their home fries are excellent as well and i make sure i get them every time i make an appearance. All in all, this is my NUMBER 1 breakfast place in and around Uxbridge, MA and i would recommend it to absolutely anybody. 10/10. read more

If I could give a "0" I would and not because of the food or service. This past Saturday (April 15) it was a beautiful sunny day and my wife and i were out visiting the West Hill Dam and became hungry for lunch. After some online searches in our phones, we decided to go to The Depot Cafe as it had really good reviews. We walked into the restaurant at 1:45 and were pleased to see over half the cafe's tables were filled with guest still eating (mind you at 1:45). A young lady (who worked there) then looked at us and said we are closing. She said this at the same time another employee (an older woman) was pointing at a table for us to sit. The younger woman then told the older woman "we are closing" and then looked at us again like you need to leave, you are not welcome. The outside of the restaurant had a neon sign indicating "OPEN" and the door was unlocked. We were clean and appropriately dressed. Not sure why we were not allowed to be seated and served. I can tell you one thing, I don't care how good the reviews of the food/service are, my wife and I will NEVER step foot in that cafe again. read more

One word, awful. My husband and I went this morning for breakfast and will never go back. I ordered the Irish eggs Benedict, but instead of hollandaise sauce I got chicken gravy. When I told the waitress she took my plate back to the kitchen and came back with my plate a minute later and told me it was hollandaise. I could taste the chicken base, there was no mistaking it. I order Irish eggs Benedict every time I go out for breakfast so I am quite familiar with how it should taste and look (what I was served was light brown as opposed to the normal yellow I would expect...it is after all made from egg yolks and butter, neither of which are brown). So I asked for a new order without the "hollandaise" and after waiting 15 minutes got untoasted English muffins and eggs so undercooked the white part of the eggs were runny and gelatinous. At this point my husband was finished eating and had an extra over easy egg so rather than waiting another 15 minutes I scrapped off the under cooked egg and used his remaining over easy egg so I could at least have something. The chef came out of the kitchen while I was waiting for the check and argued with me about how I was wrong and no one has ever said that the holland aside tasted like chicken gravy before. Suffice it to say we will never go back and I hope this review saves you from the same disappointing and frustrating experience. read more
