Derby City Pizza is another family favorite for pizza. We LOVE their thin, crispy crust. My personal favorite is veggie or margarita. We live a bit out, so the pizza might be cold if we order delivery or even pick up, but it's still good! The only negative is that it is a bit more expensive than a couple of other places we get pizza, but we still find it's worth it once in a while when we're craving their thin style pizza! read more

I had ordered Doordash from another location before so I was very excited when a location opened near my mother's home. I had been reading mixed reviews about experiences here, but wanted to check it out on my own. It was pretty busy when I arrived but I was greeted quickly. I love the nod to local high school sports on the walls. It was good to see my Alma Mater Providence represented! The line moved quickly and my order was ready on time. Albeit I need to try dining in, but my to go experience was pleasant and my meat pizza was hearty and very good! The meatball appetizer was delicious as well. I called in for a take-out. Haleigh was cordial and attentive on the phone. She was friendly and helpful at the restaurant when I arrived to pickup the pizza. I like how they open the box for you to see what you ordered before you go. Derby City Pizza is considerably weightier than your basic chain companies, without calling names. There are lots of toppings. I'm glad to say the thin crust can hold up to the toppings also. The was a good crowd there at about 8pm. My Veteran friends will like to know Derby City has a good military discount of 15% That is as good as it gets!!! I appreciate Derby City taking care of Veterans. The black of the house did a wonderful job ! We got the XL hot honey pepperoni pizza and as an appetizer the pepper jack cheese curds . The server asked if we wanted appetizers we ordered the cheese curds 2 drinks . Our pizza came out before our appetizer . Which was disappointing.and the expensive price tag for the amount . The pizza itself was thin crust and delicious She never came back . No refills we had to ask for our own to go box and walk up to the counter to pay instead of the table . I was happy to see Derby City Pizza Company was moving in where Pizza Hut was in the past. PH moved further away from home and I stopped buying it. PH seemed to be declining in quality anyways. Today was the Grand Opening for Derby City in Jeffersonville so I wanted to be first reviewing it. I looked up the menu online and went through the motions to purchase through the website. It gave me a price, but I called it in. If you hear a sweet voice on the phone, you've been blessed to speak with Haleigh. Every business should have Haleigh answer their phone. She has a pleasant voice and temperament to match. I ordered the pizza over the phone and was quoted a higher price, about $4 more. I got in my car and ran over to the store to speak with someone and start my review. I met Haleigh in person and Manager, Mike. I told Mike what I found concerning online prices and store prices. He was surprised to hear about this, but said he would look into it. He gave me the 15% military discount and introduced me to the building owner who was a personable Navy Master Chief. We had a good conversation, including the pricing issue. The Master Chief introduced me to the business owner, Larry Davis who immediately got on the phone with his people concerning the pricing issue. Larry told me his people were already working on it and will get it corrected. The store is like brand new with a fabulous, covered, outside patio. The inside is nice and includes a private room for parties and a separate bar. I hear some electronic games are going to be added soon. There are several TV's to watch sports. Derby City is definitely an upgrade to the last occupant of this space. The pizza is normally thin crust or add $3 or $4 for thick crust. I really like the taste of the sauce and wifey and I have moved to thin crust for several years now. The pizza was cold by the time I got home due to me talking so long at the restaurant. I still liked it. The grandkids ate some, but wifey doesn't care for cold pizza. That's on me. I would definitely order from Derby City again. Perhaps the wife will like it hot next time. They also have appetizers, toasted subs, pasta, lasagna, salads and wings. I trust this is a great addition to Jeffersonville and has an easy location to get in and out. I normally do not leave reviews but in this case I will, I ordered almost $72 worth of food this past Monday and was deeply disappointed in service and quality of food. At 12:30 in the afternoon the place was a ghost town, not a single person in the restaurant and 1 in the bar. The 3 members of the staff were standing around talking, I ordered online and had a 12:35 pick-up time. I had asked for some Parmesan and plates and one of the girls kind of snapped "we don't have any plates"! The girl at the register said to wait as she believed they did, she did come back with some. I got my food and drove directly back to my office, which according to Google is 5.4 miles from the restaurant. The food was not even what I would call luke warm, and I also did not get what I ordered on one of the pizzas. I have to also say that even though the sausage, peperoni and olives I would expect to have some saltiness to it, you better have plenty of water handy!!! With all that being said a restaurant on 10th st at 12:30 in the afternoon empty, should have probably told me something being a first time customer. This will be a short review as it is my 2nd one on this location. Service taking a carry out order was okay. So I had a little wait so decided I'd have a beer. My second time now to sit down at the bar like the first. Again totally ignored for over 10 minutes. There were 3 people in the bar and bartender only made one drink for the dining room. When she finished she went back to talk to 1 gentleman that was probably there too long already. I'm not sure what was going on; I checked I didn't stink! I finally voiced up and asked if I could get a beer. Maybe her first day but it doesn't matter she should be able to pick up a new customer form 3 in the bar. She dint know how to turn the lights on. Anyway got my pizzas from Sage B who was a good staff; she brought my pizzas to me when finished. Now Kimberly P; she had to get it together. Good pizza but bar help; not so good! Disappointing experience. Definitely won't be going back. Called in an order at 6:15 pm. Aware of the IU football game so expected a wait. Which is fine. Ordered a pizza and boneless wings. Girl said on the phone it would be 35 mins. Left at 6:25, got there around 6:35. Said my name and here for a carry out. They said "ok it'll be up soon." Well around 6:55-7 still nothing, however I had seen them bring out 3-4 orders. And the girl said "yours will be up shortly but can't give an estimated wait time" (lol, ok) Never heard my name called. So 7:15-7:20 I'm like hey do you all have my pizza I've been here for nearly an hour. They ask what my order was. I tell them. "Oh it's right here" Well evidently they heard my name wrong over the phone. How am I supposed to know that. So then presumably the owner comes out and he's like oh yea this is yours. And I politely said "man it's been sitting there 20-30 mins, it's probably cold" (wasn't under heat) He gets argumentative and is like oh no it just came out. And I'm like dude no I saw u all bring that out 30 mins ago. If I would've known it was mine I would've asked. U also could've asked me my specific order a long time ago. So instead of trying to make things right, he cops an attitude and takes the pizza to the back, yelling "we will just make it again" Like bruh, I've been waiting an hour at this point, why would I wanna wait another hour?! So I just walked out. Poor management, poor ownership, clearly not teaching employees basic communication skills. I get you are busy. I was patient. But it was just handled so poorly. Second time here. Got the Champ pizza with light on the olives. The first time I got it, the olives were overwhelming so this time I got light olives and it was perfect. Love the thin crust. My guy got the spaghetti and meatballs with cheese melted on it and added pepperoni - kinda like a baked spaghetti. He liked it but said it was a little bland. I tried two different flavor wings with garlic buffalo and Nashville hot. The wings were not my favorite because they weren't fried. But I should have asked if they were fried or baked. The sauces on the wings were just okay. Not hot at all. Nashville hot should make your nose run. Couldn't taste any garlic in the garlic buffalo. Still a great place for pizza. Service was good. Pros and cons for this new location in Jeffersonville. The servers were super and the layout really nice. The bar is good with garage doors opening when the spring arrives. We ordered the Champ and it was very salty. I thought because the green olives. We ordered another Champ pizza today without olives. Unfortunately, still salty. The salty that makes you lock your jaws together. I don't mean to be over dramatic; however, I would want to know. I called them afterwards and told them the circumstances and I did not want any kind of credit. They said okay and pretty sure nothing will change. I really want Derby Pizza to be successful here in Jeffersonville is the reason I'm posting. read more

First time ordering for pickup as an online order. Got there at 1:30pm on a Friday, there's nobody working the counter. Nobody in the dining room. Finally got someone's attention in the back... order was not ready already 10 minutes past promised time. Cheese bread was really good, pizza wasn't bad but for the price honestly it was not a good value. I'll stick with the Pizza Hut in Jeffersonville as they are very consistent and have good deals. I called the Jeffersonville location last Tuesday and wanted to do the two topping special. It clearly states on the website that it's dine in or carry out. When I attempted to order the individual on the phone told me that the owner told her to not honor it. That it was dine in only. It's been a week and it still on the website clearly states dine in or carry out. The individual on the phone explained to me she only works there. I get that. I never expected and explanation. Food was good, but we sat there for several minutes prior to anyone approaching us, they were not busy, 1 other table besides ours. As we walked in 3 ladies were at the counter chatting, and when they did arrive at the table she said oh I didn't see you come in. Never checked on us, and when she brought our ticket didn't ask if we needed anything else or said thank you for coming in. Then we proceeded to check out, and there was the infamous trio again chatting by the register, two of them behind the counter, and the third was laying over the counter on the restaurant side, one of the girls told her she had to move so we could check out. Your servers need to pay closer attention to the guests that come to your restaurant. Very tacky. Ordered online. $28 for a 16' thin crust bbq chicken pizza. Pretty steep if you ask me. Husband went to pick up and was left waiting for over twenty minutes, meanwhile the pizza was ready and getting cold the whole time. Having a member of our family lactose intolerant, we are use to having pizzas delivered and being wrong. But what am we aren't use to is calling to have it remade so we can come pick it up and talking to people with an attitude and saying it will be another 30 min for them to remake the personal size pizza because now they "got busy", then being put on the phone with someone who has no idea why they are being put on the phone and was even more rude...especially when that person turned out to be the owner, Larry Davis... but he did agree to remake the pizza and promised, in a frustrated tone, "if you leave right now, I'll have you a pizza with no cheese ready when you get here" My wife wanted to go pick it up since I was already aggravated with them and I don't tolerate with rude people. When she got there they had a cheese-less pizza ready... pizza crust, pizza sauce and that's it. No toppings, wrong sauce. There is no doubt this was done on purpose. Twice we have placed an order online and paid for it online only to get to the store to pick it up and they dont have our order and use excuses like someone called in just as your order was processing or two orders came at same time so ours got knocked out..yet my payment processed They had us reorder and pay at store saying the payment wouldnt go through..but it did so I had to call and get them to refund my money. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in my life. Over an hour to get my food. My girlfriend cancelled her order because they brought mine out and not hers. Grilled chicken salad and spaghetti with meatballs nothing complicated or extraordinary. Then the manger had the nerve to look me in the eye and make excuses! Absolutely shameful and terrible!
